Great waitress Miriam, great food, and great company!!
Overall experience was great. Great customer service and delicious food. Great spot to go on a date or with a bunch of friends. I would highly recommend.
Gyu=Kaku is great because you can order the exact ingredients you like. Both the food and the service were excellent. I love their spicy cucumbers as an appetizer. Then I order sirloin steak, chicken thighs, and assorted vegetables to grill on the table. Very enjoyable.
Great food and good prices ! Will definitely go back there !
Came to restaurant based on a recommendation. Everything was excellent.
Friendly staff but the food is just so-so. Food was less interesting than the flavors.
I like participatory dining and the bbq grill at Gyu-Kaku was a genuine blast and the food was delicious. The portions are generous and the staff very helpful. Price was the most reasonable we had in NYC.
Been going here for years and this places continues to deliver great service and experience.
Espectacular, se los recomiendo, celebre mi aniversario ahi y fue increible,
se los recomiendo ampliamente
After being harassed 3 times before getting to the table about the lateness policy (we were early) and 90 minute time limit, they forgot to bring 2 of the barbecue meat dishes and never deducted from the bill. I used to love this place but never, ever again.
Friendly staff, great food.
Wonderful great service, very casual setting delicious food
Fantastic food for a reasonable price and a great experience.
Excellent value for lunch specials. Very attentive service and friendly wait staff.
Would recommend. I plan on coming back. All of my food was great.
Great food and sunce it was the first time my family tried Japanese BBQ the menu could be intimidating but the waitress was extremely patient explaining it. Very nice sized portions.
Very good. Need to space seating reservations Minimum capacity
fun they sang a bday song !
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES. We made reservations for dinner and we were promptly seated at our selected time. We placed our drink order and as we we looked over the food menu. When the waitress came back, my boyfriend told her that he is allergic to shellfish. She told him that he couldn’t have any of the sauces because it might be contaminated due to manufacturing and that they only use one machine to manufacture the sauces. What??? I have never heard of a dressing/marinade possibly being contaminated by shellfish. She stated that she could just do regular meat (not marinated), but she could bring out sauce on the side for us to use. So we could dip the plain meat in sauce and that was “safe,” yet the marinated meat isn’t? Given that the majority of their menu isn’t seafood, rather beef, noodles, rice etc., I’m shocked that they basically stated everything could be contaminated. After she explained it to us, she then said that we shouldn’t order anything fried or with (water?) because they only use one oil/water for everything. We have both been to many restaurants, including JAPANESE RESTAURANTS/HIBACHI and have never encountered this issue before. It was very concerning and disappointing. We paid for our drinks and left. Obviously, we won’t be going back and just for their lack of options for people with allergies, I wouldn’t recommend or go back with others that can eat there. Overall, the ambiance was nice and the wait staff was nice, but their lack of options for allergies and their obvious lack of kitchen management/organization for keeping food separate is ridiculous.
This a consistently a great place to go. Getting a reservation can be tricky, but I recommend coming before 6pm to take advantage of the happy hour. It is always a pleasant dining experience and the food is terrific!
I love happy hour here never get wrong
Overall it was good, only one issue, when we first came in (party of 4) one person forgot his mask in the car, we asked if they had any, which they did not, he went back to the car to get his mask which parking is very hard to find in NYC, so he had to walk 4 blocks to the car. The hostess did not allow the rest of us to go to our table, which I thought was not a good policy, she said we all had to be there to be able to get our table knowing there was only one person who showed his presence but had to go get his mask, so he was annoyed with that when he got back. The hostess twisted the story and said she was cursed out which was not true, so the manager came to our table and spoke to us, he was irate and it showed, was not professional addressing the issue.
Amazing food was great waitress was so nice !
The food was fresh and interesting. We enjoy the self cooking experience. The waitress was knowledgeable and accommodating. Will be back there very soon
Had a lovely time at Gyu-kaku. The service was great and so was the food!
Our waiter was amazing! Shout out to him! Food was incredible! Thank you!!
It will be my grandmother’s birthday
Service was amazing! Very friendly ❤️
Food was good and service pleasant. Although we had to remind that some plates were missing or for water a couple of times. Reservation was at 9pm but last call is at 9:20pm. Be aware as you cannot order anything after that
The food was amazing as always
Our daughter made honor roll and this was a celebration dinner (she’s 8yo).... she loves dining out and loves trying different things. She had an amazing time. My husband and I enjoyed the food also.
Awesome experience and great options. Def a must try for young adults.
I thought the food was okay - good but did not blow me away. It wasn't as good as I remembered - the BBQ wasn't as delicious, the sides not as fresh - thus I would not go to this location again.
We went on a Sunday at 4PM, and it was quite full & noisy. The service was spotty (didn't bring us sauces, food took forever). What we thought was a ~45-60 min meal took 2 hours due to all the waiting.
My partner says this might just be the Times Square location. We've been to the Midtown & other locations and have had positive experiences there. We may give those other locations a shot in the future.
It was okay. I think the one on flushing, located in queens is a much better experience.
It was good. Unique and different. Better food in my opinion from Korean bbq
Great as always. Happy hour prices are hard to beat. Service was a bit slow and there is a 1 hour time limit so that is frustrating. But overall great
