Gyu-Kaku - New York, NY | Times Square
Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats!
Enjoy an ice cold beer as you grill your own meat. Happy Hours offer the best deals on food and drinks, so be sure to wind down and get the night started right with us.
Need to book at 4:15 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
I always have a great time at Gyu Kaku because the food is amazing and it’s a fun experience overall. My waiter was a bit rude this time so that wasn’t great but overall everything was awesome.
We loved it here!! If you’ve been to a korean or japanese bbq before, then you’d know what to expect. If not, be prepared for it to seem a bit busy as servers are constantly bringing out food for patrons to grill up. Definitely would come back again!!
Food came out fast and accurate everything was just how I wanted will be coming back soon
Ottimo ristorante mangiato bene
I preferred the upper west side location. The service and food here wasn’t as good.
Fantastic Japanese style bbq
Excellent restaurant.. I love Gyu-Kaku meat lovers combo. Me and my wife really enjoy japanese BBQ Grill..
Just found out that they updated the Happy Hour drink menu and my favorite Sake, Dassai is no longer at Gyukaku. Dassai is the one of the superior Sake, and is so disappointed. Not sure why.
Great meal and experience. Staff were super helpful.
Great place for a large group! Celebrated with friends and family. Always a good time!
The experience at Gyu-Kaku was great. As soon as we got there they received us and seated us, we had a reservation. The waitress Maribeth was amazing, really attentive and always making sure we were good. The food was great would definitely recommend and come back to this place. Loved it !!
They have happy hours when everything is a bit cheaper. However because I arrived 5 minutes earlier the waiter do not included my orders at the happy hour price.
Great service, food good but grill didnt cook food fast enough kept having to adjust it and for a party of six kept us hungry. Probably better experience with party of 4 max per grill table.
It was a fantastic love to eat and it was our first dinner here in NYC, if possible will try return before I depart. Fabulous steak selections and finally tried wagyu
Never went to a Japanese barbecue restaurant but it was an amazing experience. The staff was so friendly and the food so delicious. The best Christmas lunch ever!
It's a delicious meal and an awesome experience. The service was excellent too.
Yummy food , great staff. Good for families and pre theatre dinners
Great food and service!! A little pricy (considering you cook yourself!) but worth every once in awhile.
The food was good and the prices are very reasonable. My only issue was our waitress, who spoke really fast and so low we couldn’t hear her (almost seems like she was doing it purposefully) and seemed annoyed when we asked her to repeat things. Maybe it was just a bad day for her but her attitude and demeanor were very poor, which I’ve never encountered at a Japanese BBQ restaurant before. She also made us feel like we had to hurry up and leave as soon as we finished our food by quickly giving us the check and then asking if that was all after we didn’t immediately leave. I would visit again and hope my waitress would be better than the one we had.
Great food and atmosphere
Nice place, good meal and reasonably priced.
Just a fun, tasty experience at Gyu-Kaku. So many options to choose from, which is great for different tastes. Was able to get a Holiday sampler/combo which included nine different meats (mainly cuts of meat, but also pork and chicken). Marinated very well. It's nice to be able to cook it to your liking right at the table. Side dishes were great as well. Will definitely recommend for a special occasion.
This is our go to spot for celebrations!
Took our family from Canada and it was a really good experience for them.
First time rice taste was off missing salt and lack of taste first time it ever happened overall it was okay I had better experiences in this location
The food here was great. I ordered the 2-person holiday combo with one other person and the portion sizes were very reasonable. Each cut of meat had 3 pieces though, which was a little hard to split between 2. We waited a bit longer than we wanted to between the time the small plates/appetizers came out and the time the first plate of meat came out. Would love to come back and try Moree of thee small plates since the "Addicting Spicy Cucumber", the Crispy Rice and Spicy Tuna, and the Beef Sushi were great. We got S'mores for dessert which was lovely and very nostalgic. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very energetic which is perfect for a Yakiniku/BBQ restaurant. Overall, loved it and would definitely come back.
Caroline was an amazing server very attentive and cheerful and always explaining what everything is clearly. Food was amazing as always.
Awesome night! Happy Hour Specials are key to getting huge food choices. We left stuffed.
It was a great experience. The prices match the quality of the food. If you are planning to go for a special event I say go for the BBQ menu specials!
Noisy and crowded. But the staffs tried to make everyone comfortable
opened at 1130, so had to wait a little for table since all 1130 reservations waited for opening, but otherwise amazing as always
Service was great. The Poke Nachos were a treat.
The shrimp and mushroom dish wash very good.
We ordered the BBQ for 2 and there was an abundance of food.
