It was a great time for my friends birthday.
Fast and fun. We had a great time.
Always a great time with great food! Our go to spot for wings and ramen!
i come here weekly. service and food was great, as usual.
Great food! Waiter could’ve been more attentive however it was a good day night.
Went there before a show. Was a great experience and the staff were very friendly. Lots of good quality food and affordable prices for a Japanese BBQ.
This is my favorite location. Even when they are busy they still take their time with you and explain throughout the process
Generous portions. Mare room for desert! Food quality is good and tasty. Good place for fun with the family or friends including kids. Consider happy hour too!
Incredible service! Food was delicious! Overall a great experience.
Great staff. Fun experience
A great choice for affordable Korean BBQ and a fun place to visit in the Times Square/Theater District
Visited this restaurant with my daughter who lives in NYC because it is one of her favorites. We loved the food and we had a very diverse group of tastes. There was something for everyone. The drinks were amazing. We went before a show Sunday show so we were there at happy hour which really helped our bill! - only 100 bucks for 5 people, with cocktails. The food has reduced prices during happy hours as well. I recommend this restaurant and also recommend planning for the happy hour time frame for extra value!
Nestled in the heart of Times Square (right on 44th street), Guy-Kaku is a popular chain of Japanese Barbeque grill-it-yourself kinda place. With laminated menus, flyers announcing specials and great Happy Hour prices
I heard they have over 800 locations in Asia and USA! I’m not a fan of chains but was lured in by their great Happy Hour prices…$6 for a glass of Chardonnay in Times Sq? sign me up!
Every table has a gas, smokeless brazier, where you grill your own meat for dipping in a variety of sauces. A la carte menu with a choice of 6 different marinades. The amount of options and choices can be overwhelming. The happy hour menu is more manageable and has the basics.
*Spicy Tuna Volcano: very disappointing, not spicy or flavorful at all
*Fried Cheese Wonton: decent but also lacks in flavor
*Fried Pork Gyoza Dumplings: tasty, far from being the best fried dumpling but tasty and not bad for $6 (during HH)
*Garlic (dry) Noodles: exactly what name suggest…some garlic noodles, again nothing to write home about but pretty tasty
We sat at the bar, service was friendly but slow/ not attentive for most part of the time. Food was OK, more tasteless than I would have expected. So, if you are in the area and looking for some great deals on food and drinks this is your spot! Or if you are looking for a reasonably priced Japanese BBQ definitely stop by!
Fun time. Good food. Quite a noisy atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the smores dessert.
Service is incredible. Waitstaff consistently bringing new food items, and cleaning the grill. Excellent! Highly recommend. Food was amazing!
Server was very friendly and attentive. Made my birthday celebration even more special.
Its nice place, when you walk in it looks very busy and congested but then when you get table its nice and big. The prices are normal and not crazy
This place was such an awesome experience. The marinated meats were so good and their was an overall high quality of food provided! I was on a 4 day stay in NY and reserved this place twice
Food was delish but the waitress we received was very disinterested in interacting with any of her tables.
Everything was amazing! Lexa and Mari are amazing waitresses, very attentive and helpful. Can’t wait to go back!
First time with this experience if cooking on an open grill. It was great. All the food was delicious. My friends and I did the Ninja for 3 people and it was definitely worth every single dollar. Only thing, they gave a specific time to cook the meats but we had to cook ours a little longer due to preference so bear that in mind. Overall great and ready to go back!
Food is really good.Service needs to
It’s Valentine’s Day and Arturo was a great sever. All good came in ample time and he told time to review the menu. Great celebration dinner.
The service was the worst experience ever. Food was very good.
Firstly, we were seated right away, no wait at all. The service was great, everything was clearly explained to us, drinks came out quickly, and the food to follow. The food was excellent, we got "The Ninja" which is the recommended package for three people, and it was the perfect amount of food! The s'mores at the end were a fantastic way to end the meal. Highly recommended!
Food was good. Ninja package (for 3) was plenty of food for the 5 of us (3 adults, 2 tweens). The beef dishes were a highlight, calamari was also very good. The pork belly was super disappointing. Chicken just ok. Main issue was cleanliness. We had to replace our plates - one was greasy, one had seaweed from a prior meal still stuck onto it...The dipping sauce bottles were sticky. Everything just felt grimy and sticky, which is unfortunate since the food was good and the experience was otherwise fun.
Looking for a decent place to dine in Times Square is tough, so my expectations were really low. Most places are designed for mass tourism and it’s not really about being subtle. That place is not subtle. It’s messy, it’s kind of loud, atmosphere is like Applebee’s but Japanese BBQ version. That said, for the price, it’s really not bad food. It’s not outstanding but it does the good. I won’t be back but I don’t regret going either.
Food was great, big shout out to Patty our server. She was professional, remembered all our orders and answered our queries with warmth and smiles, unlike another colleague (short blonde streaked hair, sour face) who was abrupt and rude. Hope the management recognises Patty and what she does to make her guests feel welcome.
Unfortunately we found plastic in our melted cheese which they replaced and did t charge for but was pretty weird after that.
Great food, Excellent service.
COMPLETELY DISGUSTING I WATCHED A SERVER POUR LEFT OVER WATER BACK INTO A POT AND SERVED IT TO OTHER PATRONS NASTY I WILL NEVER RETURN
I’ve been to Gyu Kaku a couple of times and each time has been amazing. This time was to celebrate the graduation of my boyfriend. I reserved a table in advance and I’m so glad I did because it was BUSY at 8 PM on a Tuesday. It was me, my partner, and two of his friends. We were seated quickly and serviced swiftly. The staff were very nice, skilled, prompt and professional. The food was AMAZING! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a group outing or for a special occasion. You will NOT be disappointed. Also recommend downloading the app to save points!
Never disappointing! Delicious grilled meats and fair prices especially during happy hour! Try to get there before 6pm! Half off my favorite sake!!
The garlic chicken noodles are amazing! I was resistant because of the whole low carb blah blah blah but so happy we ordered it!!
Highly recommend happy hour since the prices are more reasonable.
Happy Hour meals are delicious and plentiful. Especially the sets but be careful, 3x my friends and I thought we ordered just enough but found that it was just too much...
Fantastic restaurant, one of my favs!
The happy hour dinner for two was wonderful. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Always a pleasure my favorite spot
I always have a great time at Gyu Kaku because the food is amazing and it’s a fun experience overall. My waiter was a bit rude this time so that wasn’t great but overall everything was awesome.
We loved it here!! If you’ve been to a korean or japanese bbq before, then you’d know what to expect. If not, be prepared for it to seem a bit busy as servers are constantly bringing out food for patrons to grill up. Definitely would come back again!!
