Gyu-Kaku - Times Square
Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats!
Enjoy an ice cold beer as you grill your own meat. Happy Hours offer the best deals on food and drinks, so be sure to wind down and get the night started right with us.
Service was an issue, great value, great time! We would return.
Excellent meal with fantastic service from Memo. Couldn’t fault a single aspect of the meal. Shame there’s no restaurants in England!
Excellent quality food, friendly staff, and great happy hour prices.
Great food, great value and a fun and unique experience.
This was my 5th time here and I still love it. Service is always great. I recommend reserving a table because the wait without reservations can be very long.
Food was awesome. The spicy ramen is my go-to !
The drinks are awesome.
Always a good time, good food, and great service. We will be back
Amazing experience, they made my birthday feel special - I will be back!
Food was delicious, service was great! We informed them we had a show to get to and they were very accommodating. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic evening at Gyu-Kaku. Danny served us, very knowledgable, very friendly and great conversation. He made it and if you are reading this, thank you for making it special.
Great Service, Great food, However the noise level was very high, and the restaurant was very hot, but the workers make up for it. Our waiter was great.
They should make the volume of the music lower.
It's always too noisy and that makes the place less respectiful.
Birthday lunch fun accommodating entertaining and delicious. Can’t wait to go back
Love Gyu! The service and price are always great and spot on.
The Wagyu beef was excellent.
Excellent food, service was decent, but the the restaurant was so noisy we could not hear each other talk or hear the waiter.
BEST PLACE HANDS DOWN..THE GARLIC FRIED RICE IS A MUST AND SO IS THE CAVIER FRIES .. LOVE THIS PLACE
Service was impeccable, outstanding. The waiter was awesome and accommodating to us. He was very helpful since it was our first time. Would definitely recommend to someone and would definitely go back. Quickest service I have ever gotten in any restaurant.
Good service and food. I hadn't been in a while and glad to see it still has the same flair and service it always has.
I always appreciate the staff of Gyu-kaku making sure that my allergies and food preferences are catered to but the service was not too great today. I came with a group of people and we had at least three waiting staff members, some of which didn't know what we ordered. It caused some confusion about which platters belonged to whom which was problematic because two of us had allergies and one person didn't eat beef. The staff forgot to bring some food items out which delayed the meal. Our rice got cold waiting for the meat and when asked to replace or heat up the rice, a staff member was upset. We asked politely, I always do because I respect business and customer service. She was bothered by us asking for warm food. Other than that, the food was good, as always.
Always great food and service! Very friendly and happy place!
I really liked the place. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious!
The service was great and so was the food. Wasn't too happy that we were a party of seven and were told we only had the table for an hour and half. We were served everything at a rapid speed to guarantee we were out in time.
Always enjoy a meal at Gyu-kaku! The Meat Lover's BBQ course was a great value especially after redeeming my points for $25 off.
SUCH good food and great lunch prices. 10/10 will go again.
Boys nite rocked
We had a great waitress that helped with all my diet restrictions
on a cold day in New York City, outside was 16 degree, we asked for hot tea or hot water to be begin with. they did not provide any. they serve cold water.
A lively, fun place to huddle around the grill and cook meat on a frigid winter night. Service was a bit hit or miss, but the staff was friendly. And for Midtown Manhattan, the prices were fairly reasonable.
What a fun place! We decided to try this based on reviews and were not disappointed. Plenty of options for my picky eaters, and fast service! Would definitely go back!
Very fun atmosphere. Great value and food, especially during happy hour.
Good service and kid freindly
Amazing pre-theater dinner!! The happy hour deals were out of this world and the drinks are strong, good and cheap! We spent almost 2 hours here and it was so fun! The waitstaff was so attentive and helpful, we loved it so much. We will be coming back and bringing guests that visit us so they can experience it too!
The Times Square location was very different from the one I go to in Cambridge, MA but it was a wonderful experience. The staff were above and beyond on service and super friendly. My friends and I went here and had a blast grilling each piece and chatting into the night. The menu is ideal for meat lovers and provides a wide selection of different cuts with and without marinades. Meats also range from chewy to soft for those of us with difficulty chewing.
This is a great place with interesting spins on the usual Asian cuisine. The desserts are wonderful, especially the S'More - you can roast your own marshmallow!!
My friend and I have been dining in the area pre-matinee for decades. We hadn't recalled hearing/reading about this place and it was quite different from the usual French, Italian, Greek, Japanese, or "American" restaurants we usually go to. We were really happy we took a chance. We loved the booths that had grills in the center of the table and were nicely set. The staff took their time explaining how to use the grills and to talk about the menu. They were very helpful. There are enough choices for all palates and diets, the prices are reasonable, and the food is beautifully presented. There are many things on the menu to be cooked at the table, but if one isn't in the mood for that, there are plenty of already prepared items. Several different staff checked in on the table to be sure to fill water glasses and all was going well with the cooking and clearing. Also, the bathrooms are very clean and on the same level as the restaurant. The restaurant is neat and clean, too. We decided that we would definitely be back to try other menu items, even if our show was on a different street, next time. The biggest criticism is the noise. We had an early show and had to be at the restaurant at 11:30am. It was reasonably quiet when we got there, but as it filled up, the noise level rose considerably especially since there was a rousing welcome by the whole wait staff each time they seated another table. It's a shame, because it really detracts from the experience when one has to yell across a table to be heard. It makes meals exhausting and diminishes to experience especially when you want to "catch-up" with your dining partner/s. Even so, we look forward to our next visit.
It was nice, good food.
Great dining experience. Will definitely come back.
The restaurant was wonderful, the only reason they didn’t get 5 Stars across the board is because we had to wait over 30 mins to be seated even with a reservation. We had to rush and eat to make it to our show on time which was disappointing because the food was amazing. We will be back with plenty of time to truly enjoy the experience.
