Gyu-Kaku - Boston, MA | South Bay
Great experience with great food! Excited to go back and Annie was very nice!
My server is awesome, same as the whole team.
We made reservation already online but when we got there, the table was not ready for us. The manager was unclear of everything. She just left us at the door and we were all confused. She came back 10-15 min later to tell us the table not ready and need another 5 min wait. We waited for almost 40 min to get seated even when we had our reservation down. I noticed how there was no front desk person at the front - UNPROFESSIONAL. What threw me off was we did the supreme buffet style, half of the things we order just never arrived. We made multiple orders just to have those items arrive at our table. I don't think I will go back there until they step up their organization. It was hectic for us and not a pleasant experience.
Amazing! We’ve been to all 3 locations and this one is the best by far! Will make the extra drive every time!
Servers are nice here, food is the same as another Gyu-Kaku.
Second time coming to this location and definitely going to be the location we always go to. Compared to Harvard square and Brookline, this location is more modern and more airy.
I loved the place.
Amazing food and service. All you can eat was exactly what our party of 5 needed. As long as my waters not empty im happy
We did the all you can eat and they were pretty fast with service the first round. As we ordered more the food came out slower so we had empty grilles at times but they were pretty lenient with the 90 min limit. I think we were there for about 2 hours and there was no rush whatsoever.
Third time back and even better this time. Hint of Japan in Boston.
Our first experience was at the one in Brookline. Decided to try the new location in Dorchester and it was just as great! Love coming here on date nights
Had the same exact server as the previous time and she is still just as friendly. The food comes out on time and the servers are very kind if you need anything and checking up on you.
Great food and the service was amazing. We were told that Japanese bbq is different from Korean bbq because of the marinade and it’s so true. The meat was flavored like we’ve ever had before.
The rice came out after the meats came and cooked, but other than that, great experience.
our server, Daniel, was very attentive, kind, and fast! we had a super enjoyable dinner thanks to Daniel.
We ordered tuna tacos as an appetizer but they never came until the end of our meal. We were perfectly fine with cancelling it if it wasn't made yet. However, waitress let us know they were going to make us the appetizer right away on the house. Great customer service.
Food is always great at Gyu-Kaku. This is a new location and new staff so you need some patience when it comes to service and how fast your food gets to the table. We will definitely give it another try since we are huge fans of Gyu-Kaku.
Such a great comfortable environment. Staff is very informative and kind. Food was delicious!!!
New location, very clean, great food, friendly staff
The happy hour deal for dinner was the perfect amount of food for 2 people and a great deal!
The waitstaff yelling the entire time 100% took me out of my conversation and dining experience every 36 seconds and was extremely distracting. I understand what they are going for but I'm not sure it works. The food was good albeit expensive. The plum wine is fantastic but the other drinks I got were very weak. I would go back if they stopped yelling.
Quiet environment around... everything was still new.
We visited the South Bay location a few days after opening. It seemed like they were still working out some of the kinks but overall it was a great experience with even better food.
Service was very nice, new experience yet super comforting and easy
This is not a review. Only open for a few days, they are only for a few days. The potential is great. Try it out.
