My husband’s birthday and first time there
The Japanese BBQ concept is wonderful, and the food was delicious, but I felt a bit rushed through the meal. The waiter was bringing food out too quickly and didn't spend enough time explaining that the items were or recommending cook times, etc. I feel that this type of ambience should lend itself to a slow and leisurely pace, not a rush to finish.
Let me start this review by saying that this is one of the best locations of the franchise I've been in the U.S., this was my 5th time coming in here, this time the service was really bad, my waiter took 10 mins to come to the table to offer me water, I ordered my food was really good as always the problem was the dessert I ordered the $12 cake that from what I understood GYU KAKU is the only one that can sell it in the U.S. It's supposed to have a soft ice cream texture... Well not this time it was really bad not served the right way. Started calling the waiter he was leaving another table and he basically ignored me, went to the other table and spent 5 more mins with that table. Told him what happened with the cake, told me he was gonna switch it out. 12 minutes still waiting for the cake I couldn't wait for it anymore.. Got up and went near the kitchen and 3 mins later was coming out, asked for the manager, never came..... So that was my experience....
Overall a very nice place. Great service.
great happyhour, loved the shio ramen.
We return to eat here because the food is tasty . Service is prompt. Average cost is $30 per person. The place is also clean.
Delicious food and great service at a great prices
If it is your first time, I suggest the meat lovers
Frequent diner, love coming here. You get your value with the amount of food you get and the service is always on point. If you want to try a new experience, this place is a must.
Excellent!! Food was DELICIOUS! Service was amazing, ambiance was perfect! Definitely going to eat here again!
Very good. The server was nice and courteous.
Had the Gyu-Kaku set Menu - excellent value and really enjoyable - waiter was very helpful and courteous. Would recommend.
Excellent fast service
Very good food.
We went for my birthday and it was my first time at a Japanese BBQ. It was ok, but I am not sure I would go again. We ordered the Meat Lovers option. The meat seemed to be low quality with most of it hard to chew. My husband went to the Chicago location a few weeks ago and had a much better experience overall.
Having been to several Gyu Kaku locations in Canada we were really looking forward to dinner at the Orlando location. We each ordered the garlic noodles with shrimp because it’s our favourite but sadly the noodles were mushy and lacking flavour. The chicken karagee (called Japanese fried chicken on the menu) consisted of only 5 small pieces and they looked like the chicken was just thrown into a deep fryer without the usual seasoning. Worst of all, they looked burnt so not appealing at all. The filet we ordered for the BBQ was stringy and fatty. Service was very pleasant and the food was edible so we decided not to complain. Finally U.S prices were almost the same as in Canada so with the additional exchange rate it wasn’t good value. For these reasons I wouldn’t return again and will stick to Canada locations.
It didn’t feel like much food for what we paid. But the food was good
Great tasting selection of meats. Good house sake at a reasonable price.
It was great! Our waitress was great and our food was great too!
Food and service were great, music selection was terrible.
Great experience !!! Everything clean waitress and staff super friendly the food was amazing!!
My husband and I celebrated his birthday here and we enjoyed every moment. We had the Gyu Kaku course. It was plenty of food for the both of us. The miso steak and short rib were marinated perfectly and was very delicious. The shrimp and mushroom ahijo was tasty as well. We definitely will be coming back.
Great food for a great price! Lovely service and nice date ambiance
Great food good customer service!!
Although we enjoyed our dining experience if our waiter and staff was more attentive i would have rated higher.
Overall great experience, I thought the service could be a tad quicker in regards to checking out and getting refills
We had a team lunch with a small group from Work and we had a wonderful experience. We will definitely visit again soon
Everything was great!!!
The food, experience and location are AMAZING!!! Very social to cook your food with friends and family and opens up more conversation as a group. However the service was only okay. Our server got our drink order wrong twice, giving us the wrong wine and forgot a beverage all together until about 20 minutes later. It wasn't a huge deal. Once we ordered we only got a little more than half of our food to the table. By the time he brought the rest we were so full off of everything else we didn't even get to try/eat the stuff he just brought. We wished it had all come at once. The flavor of everything was great, so many different options and it really is an experience like no other!
We had a wonderful experience and our waitress was superb. She made sure we had alternate drinks when the dispenser did not work for what we first desired. She was attentive to what each of us ordered and did not have to switch plates around after setting them down. It was a great dining experience and we will be back.
The food there is delicious and at a very good price! The service is always on point as well and we’ve never had a bad experience. Definitely would recommend it and we will be for sure coming back!
"I love this restaurant. I definitely would recommend this restaurant . Service is always great . iTs a place me and my family always wanna go .
Had to wait an additional 30 minutes before my booking time.
Having been to Gyu-Kaku both at multiple NYC locations and now Orlando, this was definitely not the experience we're used to from the chain. Service was incredibly slow (to the point of us having to get up multiple times to find someone to help us), cooking took longer than usual (we were told our grill "never got very hot", despite being set to the highest setting), and wait staff seemed overwhelmed. Not a great experience, especially for the price and quality I'm used to at other locations.
Our favorite Orlando Restaurant! It is an amazing experience and fantastic food! Don’t forget to try the soups and salads! Yummy!!
Great food and experience. Little pricey though. Better off picking your items vs pre-planned item list
Great place and atmosphere. I lived in mainland Japan for a few years and Gyu-Kaku is the closest to a true Japanese grill restaurant the only difference is they use coal vice propane. I have recommended Gyu-Kaku to many friends and they have all gone and enjoyed it. The only thing that I wish you had was a bigger cooking space for larger groups. We’ll be back again. Thanks.
Excellent place. Food was amazing!
Celebrating our son’s 24th birthday at universal studios , been to the one in Katy Texas a couple of times and we all loved it.When ask wats for dinner in Orlando and we found you guys on open table we had to try Gyu Kaku in Orlando
