MIKI.!!!!! 💗💗💗💗 Miki was our server and she did amazing. Quick & informative to my guests who had never dined here before. Was sure to tell us about the seasonal menu as well as mention happy hour. $3.50 for beers & $3 shots.?? Oh you can't beat that. The prices are reasonable if you order a la carte, but groups of four or more may stand to save more with one of their amazing combos. They have an app where you can collect points and get free items and coupons I would highly recommend it if you frequent this eatery or area. Gyu Kaku never a disappointment.

This is a great place for bbq. I really like their spread and its a great place for having a sit down conversation at the same time have things to keep you distracted to avoid awkward silence situations.

I think once you have more than 4 people on a table, you should put your guests on a table with 2 fire pits. We had 7 people all sharing one fire pit, it was a horrible experience where our food kept on falling on the sides of the fire pit and we kept losing our food because we had to stretch our hands to one fire pit with 7 people.OMG

Shockingly terrific value for super-tasty food; fun to futz with the grill and arrange things just how you like. We were tucked into a window booth and so the whoops and shouts that are part of the general dining room service were background noise. Astonished to feed two people well for lunch in midtown for THIRTY DOLLARS with tip. Still SMH.

My son loves this place, and we were celebrating his birthday. They gave us a share table which I refused to sit on, and as a consequence they made us wait over 30 minutes even though they were plenty of empty tables.
My son did't want to leave because the food is good even though the service is really bad.
Even the restrooms were very dirty

Solid Japanese BBQ spot in midtown. Large selection of dishes served by a very friendly staff. If going with a group (more than 2 people), recommend getting one of the "Group Platters" for two people and then adding on additional food if needed. The restaurant also has a solid happy hour if you can make it. Atmosphere can be on the loud side depending on how busy the place is. We try to come here a couple times a year as the novelty of cooking the food yourself (outside of the home) is fun every once in awhile.

Within 1 week, I went twice to Gyu-Kaku. First with my two sons, my daughter, and her fiance. Second with a good friend I hadn't seen in a while. Everything we ordered was great - and the drinks are great too!

I Came in for my birthday with a date. I've visited the location that is near Times Square and I had a good experience. However, when we arrived the table wasn't ready for our reservation, I didn't even know my servers name because she didn't introduce herself, it seemed like she was in a rush to get us about because we were still eating, taking breaks to talk and she would come over and ask if we wanted to go boxes even when we informed her we were still eating our food. She then gave us the check, before we finished our food and kept checking and asking if she could take the check. Long story short the manager needs to coach his staff on not rushing the guests that are spending their money in their establishment.

We arrived a few minutes late and they claimed my reservation had been "automatically cancelled" by their computer system because we were late. They said we had to wait at the bar and would have to wait for a table now. The hostess was rude and we decided we did not want to give our patronage to the restaurant and so, we left because it was such an unpleasant interaction.

I love gyu kaku and gonto the midtown Manhattan location. I usually go later in the evening but the last time went earlier. The food is great by this location is in serious need of a facelift and clean. Everything is falling apart, ripped orerwear. The hanging lights had a lot of dirt and dust covering. It's really turned me off.

Gyu Kaku has several locations but I go to the one on 3rd Ave most often because it's near my office. Great place to take visitors to the city. The act of grilling your own meal makes it so much fun and makes conversation so easy. This was my first time there for happy hour - and the food has happy hour pricing too! Everything is deelish and the service is prompt and efficient, always. Make sure to reserve, it fills up fast.
