Great value during lunch. Cheap food drinks. Overall great experience.
Great restaurant for groups with well-behaved kids. We were five adults and two kids. Kids loved the hibachi and adults got to catch up, too. Food was good and staff was very friendly.
My fiancé and i had a good time .
Always a treat. Nice atmosphere. Pleasant service. Lots of flavor and variety for sharing. Great for dates and families. Get the app and get immediate rewards.
My boyfriend and I have been to multiple Gyu Kaku’s and this one was one of our favorites! We loved that it was located on the second floor and we got a booth by the window so we got to enjoy the beautiful view. The service was exceptional and the happy hour was great. We also redeemed some awards from the app!
Just yuck. Do NOT recommend
Nice as always!
First time being in a Japanese barbecue and was not quite sure of what the experience would be. I order Japanese fried chicken but there was some issue with the frying equipment so I was unable to enjoy this appetizer. One of the beef entree was unavailable. Was not necessarily ready to cook my own meal. I wanted to enjoy the company of my friend and was distracted by having to cook my own meal. Serving portions were almost non-existent. The rib eye was ok and so was the chicken. I enjoyed the side dish of corn. May or may not go back for a second experience. Might try a different location.
Went after a spa to eat dinner with a group of four. We come in order a bunch of salad soup meat. They give us the steak and beef before the salad. The rice wasn’t crispy or even hot and given after we finished half our meats plates. They drop off the check before we are even done eating our meal or have been given our dessert. We had to ask for something we paid for. Extremely rushed food somewhat on point other than rice which was prepared poorly. Worse service ever in New York!!!!!!! Will not go back to that location!!!!!crappy set ice and management! Poorly executed!
Always good qualitie food
Made a reservation on open table and had a confirmation number and my name was in the system. Got to restaurant and their system had not given me a table and apparently there were none remaining. Restaurant refused to find a table for me and suggested I sit and wait another 45 minutes to see if others didn't show up. Nothing was done to remedy the situation and no apology. Will not be returning to this location.
It was wonderful honestly; for me that was my 3rd time going there and every time my experience has been the same. The food is amazing; the ambiance is great and the people and staff are a joy to be around and are very nice. No complaints at all and definitely will be back more times in the future.
everyone was so attentive. The catered to us from beginning to end. The cocktail drinks coco was awesome!
It was incredible. The servers are amazing as always & the food was incredible. The only thing I would change is the noise level.
Love love love this place. I came for my birthday dinner with friends and it was phenominal (as always). I've been to several Gyu Kaku locations and each has its own unique charm. The food was great and did not take extremely long to arrive. The happy hour drinks at the bar were great. I made sure to get two to ring back once we were seated. All in all this was, as expected, a great dining experience.
Being able to sit with my family of 7 plus me was awesome! The food just kept coming which I love, and all the meat dishes we ordered and the veggies were delish!
My family tried some of the rice dishes which pretty much disappeared.
The servers coming by often enough to check on us was well timed and thoughtful - they timed bringing my birthday cake out too!
Great experience, what you see is what you get, in the best way possible.
Fast food chain sushi and bbq. Very very salty and lots of sugar. Even its very close to my home, its my last choice when to have a quick dining.
I booked an 8pm reservation but did not get seated until 8:30pm. I understand it was busy and appeared the delay was due to table turning over and being short a waitress is what I was told. Regardless the food was good and my kids had a good time. Waitress was very personable and friendly. Had to remind her about our servings of rice and my wife’s glass of wine. Overall we had a good time and would go back.
Loved it. Great time and great food
Great food and service!
Delicious food. Great service. What a fabulous deal for happy hour!!! Thanks for making my mother's birthday so special!
Always a great experience! Its fun to cook your own food and the service is excellent.
Our server Danny was very kind and explained everything to us. It was our first time. The manager was very friendly and even joked. around with us.
LOVED the experience. I will go back and introduce to many friends. The environment is friendly with quick service. It was clean and on point with the food. Satisfying food options and drinks.
Didn’t think it was enough food for all of us. Food was fresh but I think the portions in the uncooked meat should be larger.
This place was amazing. The food was great and the service was speedy. It's bit pricey for sure but I think it was worth every penny. I'm still thinking about the food and when I can go back to get more.
We made reservation last minute and ordered a lil late which made me feel bad cause we were the last before kitchen closed and I work at a kitchen so I know the feeling. Overall the drinks were great, the Tokyo sunrise cocktail I ordered was tasty. Food was delicious, spot on, nothing bad to say. The experience of cooking it at the table was fun. The pricing surprised me, so reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back to this place. Great service, great food no complaints on anything. Just complements, want to thank everyone for everything at the restaurant.
Awesome place. Too bad they took my fav out of the menu, the sausage fried rice.
The server was very slow on my request. I had to remind him multiple of times on what I asked for. Service could have been better but everything else was good.
Great as always
Overall it was great but don’t sit beside the window in a sunny day. Your eyes could not bear it. And do bring a pair of heat proof gloves with you. It aches when you barbecue.
gayu kaku is one of the best resteraunts in new york city it has amazing food and its gets your food to you sppedy and hot it is an amazing ressteraunt and i would reccomend it to anyone in the entire world me and my family personaly eat gayu almost every week their food never goes out of style and their wine and drinks spacifically the drink mango mai tai are amazing me and my entire family love gayu kaku and you will to!!!!!!
I had a 9:15 reservation and arrived by 9pm with a full party ,I was then seated at 9:40pm . I was a bit upset about this because I thought the reservation was set for that time or a 15 min window. Other then that our waiter , Marvin , was great ! This was my second time having him as a waiter and he is very professional. Thank you for helping me kick off my weekend with a bang of great food and I do look forward to coming again .
Good food. Bit noisy but nice atmosphere
Just quality time with family
It was nice overall.
Great staff, Great Service, and Great Food. I will recommend
Great selection of meats and I enjoyed grilling my own food, to my taste. Drinks were good, though a bit sweet, and i loved my lava cake!! Overall, had a great time!
The food at Gtu-Kaku restaurants is always delicious, but the character and style of each restaurant branch is unique. I had forgotten that the midtown east restaurant is a magnet for families. If you enjoy a loud and convivial space filled with noisy children, I'd say go for it and enjoy the excellent food. If you're searching for a quieter or more intimate meal, it may be worth the schlep down to the East Village branch which has always been my favorite of the Manhattan Gyu-Kakus. And to be honest, it wasn't just the noise level that was a disappointment on Sunday; our server was not very attentive and we had to remind her three separate times that there were items we had not yet received. Her response each time was the same: "it's on its way" -- and then shortly the item would magically appear after she remembered to check on it.
