What a great surprise to find such a tasty meal with great service from this chain restaurant. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back!!
I arrived ten minutes early and checked in to see i can sit down first but they insist i have to stand outside the restaurant and wait -- 5 minutes later they ask if they can give away our table first unless my friend shows up on time - which i won't know for sure -- my friend showed up on time but they gave us a horrible left over table --- with no service.
had to ask for extra plate several times and won't bring them.
we ordered then someone try to come take order again.
I ordered the most expensive A5 wagyu for 60 dollars four slices --- the worse left over wagyu that is still frozen and too thick to bbq had to wait for it to defrost ---
I absolutely love this place and will be back. Everything was delicious, service was perfect and they did something cute for my sisters birthday without me asking.

I made a reservation earlier that morning at 11am. Restaurant was open and ready on time. Service was great, got all my meats and today the cuts when each one was presented.
This is one of my favorite restaurants - has been for years. Now during covid times, the experience was not the same. I normally need metal utensils as I'm not good with chopsticks. But now they don't give these anymore, and I had to eat with a plastic, disposable fork. I was really annoyed at this, and don't understand how it could prevent the spread of covid. The sauces were not on the table anymore, and when I asked for them, they arrived in individually-sized plastic containers. So much plastic waste, painful to see, besides making for a poor experience. I felt like getting airline food in economy class. The bibimbap was served on a plate instead of the usual bowl it comes in, where you let it sit so the rice gets crispy and you can mix in the spice. It was so different and disappointing, it could not be called bibimbap - it was just rice with onions and meat. I really hope things go back to normal soon. In the meantime, I will carry my own metal utensils if I go back
Reservation for 8:45, when we arrive they let us know it is last call and the kitchen is about to close. Felt very rushed. Would have been nice to know that before we got there. Not sure why they even allow reservations at that time if they were going to act so angry about it. When staff came by it was to hurry us along rather than see what we needed. Food and ambiance is overall fine but the service was definitely poor.

I absolutely love this restaurant. However, my reservations were for 9:30 pm. We weren’t seated until 10 pm and they pretty much started rushing us because they had to close by 11 pm. Overall the food and drinks were amazing. Just wish we got more time to relax and enjoy our time there.

excellent service, excellent food, covid precautions well-set in place.
We really enjoyed our lunch here. The food is DELICIOUS, the drinks are big and tasty, and the staff are really nice. I took away one star because, right now, there is a 2 hour time limit on the meal which makes the food come out lightening fast. The pace is perfect for them because we got out in exactly 2 hours but it was definitely overwhelming with all the food arriving at the table at the pace that it did. You do feel kind of rushed, which I read in other reviews. Although I do understand the reasoning behind it, it is still a bit much. Hopefully post covid restrictions, the time limit is lifted so you can truly enjoy your time there.
We ordered the pre arranged meal for 4 people (since there was 4 of us and it was our first time there) at $110 with three appetizers in addition and it was TOO MUCH food. The pre arranged meals are more than enough for the amount of people suggested.
Overall, I do plan to return.

We had an 8:30PM reservation, and they rushed us the second we sat down. They should have not allowed us to make a reservation that late as the staff gave us conflicting information about the timing of last call and ordering. We wouldn't have gone if we would have known this was going to be the case, or would have just booked earlier.

Not as good as before (food, service....)....COVID does not excuse everything...
Waiter was a push over and kind of rude since the beginning...Drop the check when we were still eating the entrees.....Then at 9:50 pm (we had a 8:30 pm reservation and arrived in time) we had paid the check, we were finishing the bottle of wine we ordered...he came to our table and told us with an ATTITUDE: sorry but you have to go we have a 10 pm curfew because of the pandemic.
So my answer was: sorry but I know all the city guidelines, I am a restaurant owner in the city, and the new curfew since Sunday February 14th is 11 PM.
At first, he did not know what to answer to that....Then, he answered (with an EVEN BIGGER attitude): NO IT IS STARTING ONLY ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 26th. (which is actually the date when the indoor dining goes from 25% to 35% occupancy)
This restaurant is part of a big restaurant group, they should know and teach the new guidelines to their employees.
If you want to close earlier on Sundays, that is fine with me, but please change your google listing and open table reservation times available, so you don't have to rush your customers OUT SO FAST.

I’ve been here several times & know what to expect. The reason my visit was a utter failure was because the grill kept cutting off while my food was cooking , had no way of knowing if my food was cooked properly, so only thing I had was the Garlic rice & some appetizers since those were the only things I could confirm were cooked properly
Food is not the same as before, pork wasn’t fresh at all utensils were plastic. Really bad experience

The food was delicious but we felt very rushed. We came to celebrate a birthday, hence why I made a reservation. I was told we couldn't sit until the entire party (3 people) were there. Not a problem. One member showed up 10 minutes late. As we were being sat, we were told we had 1 hr and 20 minutes because our table had another reservation. We then proceeded to see another table being sat without the entire party arriving til several minutes later. We were a little peeved to see that happen in front of our eyes, when we couldn't be sat and then told our time was limited.
I needed to wait for a while to have seat. However, the manager and the team members are prompt and nice. The server was attentive and food was prepared fast. I love the food and the service here. The entrance and exit are separate and the hand sanitizers are provided upon arrival which is good way to prevent spread of virus. Love here!
We had a very good experience at Gyu-Kaku. The quality of the food was high and varied, the service was excellent and it was a lot of fun. Overall, a creative and enjoyable experience.

Food and staff was excellent, but everything was rushed and In didn’t like the time allocation to eat. Not a good feeling to feel rushed and under a deadline wen ur looking to have a leisure experience.

Second time I’ve been back to this location in a week. Customer service is always so warm, kind and attentive. Definitely felt safe with the COVID protocols. Food always super delish!

My Family experience at Gyu-Kaku Midtown location was amazing. The service was great and the food was AMAZING. We will definetly be back and I highly recommend this place to everyone.
