i visit gyu on the regular and i was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food, the different servers we had to speak to and the wait time to be served and attended to.
The overall dining experience was okay. Food was good, but servers kept forgetting what they have/haven’t served to the table. The service was below average. At first it was all good, but the moment we’ve done our barbecue meat, the waitress just came and turned off the fire. She forgot to give us our s’mores. And we waited for twenty minutes for she showing up to our table again and asked her to turn on the fire for the s’mores. At last, we called for our bill for twice but still waited for over fifteen minutes. Idk what was going on with the last part service on that day.
I love it here. My family and I always go with our friends. They updated their menu post COvID which is amazing! The only thing I miss is the beef bimbimbop rice. It was delicious. Now they only have white rice but Ik they are offering a different beef rice since our visit. We got the Ninja, which was fantastic! The harami steak!!! Wow! All of the beef selections were amazing. The only gripe is the chicken, nothing really special there, but overall would recommend Gyu-Kaku to anyone wanting a fun and different experience. Bring your friends/family here, they will LOVE IT.
My hubby and I couldn't go to this restaurant for a year cuz COVID. We are so glad to see the people who works there for years are still there.

Great and amazing service
I used to come here with friends before covid and always enjoyed the food and services. This visit was very disappointing. Food wasn’t as great and fresh. Service was just so bad that I couldn’t believe that’s the same place I knew. Will not come back to this location. May still go to other locations
not my first time being to one of their chain locations, definitely never coming back to this one though. keep in mind i’m a bartender/server at a VERY high paced restaurant writing this review & my boyfriend as well which is who i went this. terrible service, took 25 minutes to get greater at our table, dirty cups and plates, no one ran our food, we saw it just sitting there in the kitchen. kept having to ask for new cups and utensils. our food was done fast but took an extra 30 minutes to reach us. also, our waitress followed us out of the restaurant to ask if we could tip her more... we literally saw her twice the entire night, when she took our order and when she took our payment. sad that you can’t really enjoy the food here being the place is so dirty and the service is ridiculous. much better experience at the times square location.
Service wasn’t up to par.
I love Gyu-Kaku but I was disappointed by the quality of the food this time. The tuna in the Tuna Volcano was definitely not fresh and I sent it back. The okonomiyaki was mediocre, won't have it again.
Service is usually fantastic but this time we didn't have any fresh plates, refill of water and the tongs on the table were dirty when we sat down.
I will go back because I've been to this place many times and everything is usually great!
My first time doing Korean BBQ, it was an experience and I would definitely come back

What a great surprise to find such a tasty meal with great service from this chain restaurant. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back!!
Everything was good, just a few babies crying ruined the mood
I arrived ten minutes early and checked in to see i can sit down first but they insist i have to stand outside the restaurant and wait -- 5 minutes later they ask if they can give away our table first unless my friend shows up on time - which i won't know for sure -- my friend showed up on time but they gave us a horrible left over table --- with no service.
had to ask for extra plate several times and won't bring them.
we ordered then someone try to come take order again.
I ordered the most expensive A5 wagyu for 60 dollars four slices --- the worse left over wagyu that is still frozen and too thick to bbq had to wait for it to defrost ---
I absolutely love this place and will be back. Everything was delicious, service was perfect and they did something cute for my sisters birthday without me asking.

I made a reservation earlier that morning at 11am. Restaurant was open and ready on time. Service was great, got all my meats and today the cuts when each one was presented.
This is one of my favorite restaurants - has been for years. Now during covid times, the experience was not the same. I normally need metal utensils as I'm not good with chopsticks. But now they don't give these anymore, and I had to eat with a plastic, disposable fork. I was really annoyed at this, and don't understand how it could prevent the spread of covid. The sauces were not on the table anymore, and when I asked for them, they arrived in individually-sized plastic containers. So much plastic waste, painful to see, besides making for a poor experience. I felt like getting airline food in economy class. The bibimbap was served on a plate instead of the usual bowl it comes in, where you let it sit so the rice gets crispy and you can mix in the spice. It was so different and disappointing, it could not be called bibimbap - it was just rice with onions and meat. I really hope things go back to normal soon. In the meantime, I will carry my own metal utensils if I go back
Reservation for 8:45, when we arrive they let us know it is last call and the kitchen is about to close. Felt very rushed. Would have been nice to know that before we got there. Not sure why they even allow reservations at that time if they were going to act so angry about it. When staff came by it was to hurry us along rather than see what we needed. Food and ambiance is overall fine but the service was definitely poor.

I absolutely love this restaurant. However, my reservations were for 9:30 pm. We weren’t seated until 10 pm and they pretty much started rushing us because they had to close by 11 pm. Overall the food and drinks were amazing. Just wish we got more time to relax and enjoy our time there.

excellent service, excellent food, covid precautions well-set in place.
We really enjoyed our lunch here. The food is DELICIOUS, the drinks are big and tasty, and the staff are really nice. I took away one star because, right now, there is a 2 hour time limit on the meal which makes the food come out lightening fast. The pace is perfect for them because we got out in exactly 2 hours but it was definitely overwhelming with all the food arriving at the table at the pace that it did. You do feel kind of rushed, which I read in other reviews. Although I do understand the reasoning behind it, it is still a bit much. Hopefully post covid restrictions, the time limit is lifted so you can truly enjoy your time there.
We ordered the pre arranged meal for 4 people (since there was 4 of us and it was our first time there) at $110 with three appetizers in addition and it was TOO MUCH food. The pre arranged meals are more than enough for the amount of people suggested.
Overall, I do plan to return.

We had an 8:30PM reservation, and they rushed us the second we sat down. They should have not allowed us to make a reservation that late as the staff gave us conflicting information about the timing of last call and ordering. We wouldn't have gone if we would have known this was going to be the case, or would have just booked earlier.
