Great food with great service
Whenever I have out of town guests stopping by New York for a visit, I always recommend a lunch or dinner at Gyu-Kaku. They are always impressed with the service and food, and I have yet to have a single poor experience.
Facility is a bit dated and worn but the experience was fantastic. So much fun. We tried one of group meals and it was a great option. Good variety and plenty of food. Service was okay. We will be back.
Not like the Gyu-Kaku in Japan. No all you can eat option. Portions are highly overpriced for their size. Drinks were delicious but weak. Food was delicious but the price and quantity will prevent me from coming back.
Everything about Gyu-Kaku in midtown is great. The servers, supervisors/managers... But most importantly... The food. It's a really good experience. Everyone is so nice and professional. The food is well seasoned and tender. I didn't have one bad item form the menu. It gets busy though. I can see why. So make a reservation.
Early bird is Great deal. But service can be better as I have to chase them down many times to get their attention. When they describe what type of meat I have, difficult to understand what they are saying with their heavy accents
Good food, great view, server was super LOW energy- but we were there to enjoy Mother’s Day!
We discovered Gyu-Kaku on a recent trip to Houston, Texas. Now we see that they are in NY too! We keep coming back for the wonderful barbecue experience, along with a great spread of appetizers and sides, from miso soup and edamame to ramen and even smores. We shall return!
Great food, great service, and awesome experience!
Fantastic place to eat. A brilliant experience with very tasty food.
Great restaurant with high quality food and drinks.
Fantastic and quick service!
The good : service was very very fast and friendly. The bad: it was very cheap but way Way too much food in the recommended 2 person meals, grubby sticky tables and bathroom
I love this place! Great meat, perfect appetizers, banana cheesecake dessert is TOP! Mango mai tai and lychee bellinis are perfect!
First time there, it was amazing. The food was excellent.
Had a great time! Excellent service!
It's a hidden gem in the neighborhood. A Korea BBQ style meal but with Japanese meats.
Birthday dinner. It’s our sons favorite.
Great food with great deals to choose from . You can enjoy for any occasion
I had egg shells in my rice, made reservations and still had a family (Caucasian) seated before us whom which had no reservations. The kids enjoyed cooking but overall not worth my money.
Delicious, Fun, and they absolutely have one of the best and most yummy Happy hrs in the city.
Food is always amazing. The service was pretty slow and not much customers.
They have very very strict reservation system. Also honestly the quality isn’t good. Don’t use for any special occasion or business as they will definitely cancel your reservation in 15 minutes. Unlike their notes in Open Table, calling them doesn’t make any change of their policy. Again don’t use this place if you have any chance of changing plan. I reserved this place for my guests but when my guest was being late I called them but they said in 15 minutes my reservation is absolutely cancelled and no way to hold extra 5 minutes.
Food was really good and excellent service!
Amazing food and atmosphere! Absolutely delicious. Fresh veggies and great meat quality. Service was outstanding! Can't wait to eat here again.
Great to start discovering Japanese BBQ... and great for meat lovers!!
We asked the waitress for our drinks multiple times and received them when we were done with our food and paying the tab
Great place with good service and buzzing atmosphere. Convenient and nice for a group.
21st Anniversary. We enjoyed our meal! Will dine again.
I love the place. My kid 21 months old never get bored because he can see the vehicles on roads outside from big windows.
Good food with poor service. Their put 6 People into four people's table. I don't even have my silverware when the dishes ready. I feel like the waiter are kinda push us, and want us leave quickly, so that, their will have high turnover rate.
We have been coming to this restaurant for 6+ years because we looove the food and the service. However, the place can use some much needed TLC.
Well the service was slow unfortunally . And I know cause I go to gyu kaku every weekend I visit all diferent establishments the cooper square one it's my fav. I dont know if I would come back to this one again this is the 2nd time they make me wait a lot even with reservations . And the meet noodles and rice took 30 minutes to come to the table . Not happy .
It’s a fun place, good value option for “friends from out of town” night out.. different, fun and interesting.. been there a few times.
Great food and great service!
Food was great. Staff did great accommodating food allergies for someone in our party. Only one complaint - walk-ins seemed to be given priority over those with reservations. We were seated 15 minutes late
Great food it was awesome I love the food it tasted very good
Nice place, good place to eat, great relation quality/price
Quick and efficient service. Great servers and delicious food. Was an amazing experience overall
