Good food, good drinks.. waiters were very polite! I’d recommend for a lunch date or a night out
My first date with my shawty and we were able to joke and cook together a different experience than just eating and talking while waiting for the food. We will be back
Excellent service. Had a lot of fun cooking over grill. Very good value for good quality meats.
Waiter wasn’t attentive. Asked multiple times for utensils, water, napkins. Food was good but over priced for small portions.
Love this place. Not my first and not my last time here!
This restaurant say to you welcome in japoneses
Everything started out fine. We were seated promptly with a reservation. We appreciated the smokeless grills. The experience went downhill when the server took our order and then went MIA for 45 minutes. Apparently, he moved to a different section in the restaurant but failed to tell anybody including us. The meats were of pretty good quality except for the filet mignon. There were brown spots but the maitre d' insisted that it was perfectly normal. We still beg to differ and we didn't want to ask for a replacement which might have taken another 45 minutes. Our original server's colleague did step in eventually so we were grateful he did. We will try other Gyu-Kaku locations in the future.
It may be be korean to make your own taco with the lettuce around the barbeque, which they did not do as I had come to expect - still, everything was tasty, the tofu soup, the 2-person barbeque I recommend
There was a little boy behind us making so much noise. But overall it was an amazing experience.
The pre-fix menu makes it super easy for couples or small groups. The meats come out looking very delicious and taste even better. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood of different type of delicious cuisine
Had a great time. Prices are reasonable for Japanese bbq and there is happy hour until 5pm every day. Servers were all really attentive and friendly.
It was a wonderful time
Cool today is my birthday and the restaurant offered me free ice cream!
Overall good. Service was not perfect, but they were accommodating and were trying. Did an excellent job of keeping the table clear as soon as plates were empty. Friendly and polite.
Pésimo servicio, gente de pésimo humor, no llegaron a la mesa hasta después de 20 min. de estar sentados y dolo por qué preguntamos si nos podían atender, y tardaron muchisimo en llegar los alimentos.
This location never fails to impress me. I love the service from here it was great! Thank you.
I love Gyukaku! Their service is quick and on point. Food is fresh and amazing. I have tried many locations, this location is the best one among other Gyukaku restaurants.
First time out since pandemic it was the perfect place so consider of me as was very nervous
this was our first time our in a while with the kids dinning inside. The first waiter took a little long to come to the table an it was hard to hear his instruction, but it was over all very good and a great place for kids.
Will go back again.
Service was horrible usually service at gyu is horrible but it was worse than ever before. My waitress was gone the entire time to the point where I thought she was off her shift. Also it took 15 minutes for anyone to even greet meet at my table.
Clean inside. No smoky smell. Service staff were very accommodating. Reasonably priced.
the hostess was rude but the waitress Pimm was excellent with her attentiveness and service.
One of my favorite restaurants!!!!!
New experience and was very happy to have tried Japanese bbq
This location has had some short staffing issues for a little while. Was pleasantly surprised to have great service this last time! Seems they have hired a bunch more waiting staff and the place is running great !
Good was delicious but portions very small, I guess that was why they were called small plates lol
There was a little bit of a language issue when communicating with our server when it came to ordering but overall service was very good
Much regard to PJ. He was very hospitable. Happy we have a Gyu closer to us in the UWS. I do wish the lunch menu listed ALL the Happy Hour options, not just a selected. I did enjoy the broader HH menu presented at the Cooper St location, where I have been attending for so many years now.
We made last minute reservations and arrived early. The host was extremely polite and helped get us seated early which we really appreciated. The food was delicious and the servers were great. This was a family outing, we had just come from ComicCon and everything around the Con was packed so we traveled a little farther to get here. It was well worth it. The service was exceptional and it was relaxing considering the crowds we had just been around. I would definitely go back. With family or friends, It was a great experience.
The service was spectacular and the food was amazing .
My boyfriend and I have heard about this restaurant for months and we finally have gotten the chance to go. It was AMAZING. The food, ambiance, drinks and staff were all excellent. Would definitely recommend and will be back to dine in soon!
Food was not the best
We’ve been Gyu-Kanu all over locations in US because we love foods here but this one was worst.
I always patronize the location in midtown. I was in this area so I decided to try this location. The waiter marked off over half of the menu as items that they did not have in stock. I was so frustrated at that point this should have been told to us before we sat down. Also, the seating is a bit uncomfortable on the couch side against the wall it hits your knee while sitting. My husband was highly uncomfortable and he’s only 5’8. The food was good overall.
So this was the first time at this location. It's the newest location in Manhattan. We had an awful experience at the check-in because the two hostesses were extremely overwhelmed because they had added duties of checking vaccine cards and taking temps. Other Gyu-Kakus do this flawlessly but the scene was very chaotic. They need better training or just a system Too many people were in the very small vestibule/hostess stand area. This location is very small and doesn't have a bar. We tried it because we are avid Gyu-Kaku customers having eaten at over 50 locations in the US and almost as many travelling abroad. Our server Tony was very attentive and we had some interaction with Grace who was very nice. Probably won't visit this location again.
I enjoyed my time at Gyu-Kaku because the service and food was exquisite. I went at a perfect time where it wasn’t to crowded and noisy so I was about to enjoy the full experience without a busy waiter. Definitely plan on returning.
My parents, 88 &85 love there! We are regular customers!
Always a great time!
I enjoyed the food overall but the service was lackluster. Arrived 10 minutes early for my reservation but my friend hadn't arrived yet. Even though I had received a text that my table was ready the hostess said they couldn't seat incomplete parties, which was fine so I sat on the bench waiting for my friend. Over the next 15 minutes I saw the hostess seat 2 incomplete parties that arrived after me.
