   Our server Bill was fantastic. He was attentive, super friendly and energetic and made our experience great. Food was also delicious. Looking forward to going back.

   Was here during their first week (soft) open. Food was great. Services was attentive. And the place was nice and cozy. Restaurant was spread across 3 small floors. Menu was limited. But it was not a bad spot for a date night near the house.

   Bad service. If I don’t ask them, they won’t add water for you. Bad food. Gyu-sushi is gross…they didn’t even use sushi rice in this “Japanese” restaurant.

   Hubby and I went for dinner this past weekend during their soft opening. Luckily we were able to make a 7:30 reservation which I strongly advised to do so. There was this one couple (walk-in) got there around the same time as us and we saw them still waiting for a table on our way out after 9pm! This LIC location is a multi-levels establishment, our server (great service by the way) told us there will be a rooftop with a full bar coming soon. We opted for the Chef’s Choice Course Set Menu, good value and we left with happy stomach. As a BBQ lover and fan of Gyu-KaKu, this is definitely a good addition to the neighborhood.

   Wonderful to have this restaurant in LIC! For those who don’t already know the concept, it is all about cooking your own bbq how you choose, using your own table grill! To get ready for grilling their are a variety of appetizer choices. We love the soups - miso is good but our favorite is the seaweed soup! Protein portions are nicely sized to try a variety and choose different marinade flavors. My favorite is to get a shrimp, a beef, and a pork belly to share with my grandson. We also enjoy the mixed vegetables - a tin of butter and corn, mushrooms, zucchini and peppers! These are not the frozen steamed medley you find at other restaurants, they are all so very fresh! We like to end the dinner with good old fashioned s’mores! The staff is attentive and helpful! The restaurant has great table side ventilation systems so having a smoky grilling experience never gets out of hand. The restaurant is very accessible, with an elevator available for going to the 2nd level. You should really enjoy this dining experience - emphasis on experience as it is very much hands on and interactjve!
