Gyu-Kaku - New York, NY | East Village
Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats!
Enjoy an ice cold beer as you grill your own meat. Happy Hours offer the best deals on food and drinks, so be sure to wind down and get the night started right with us.
We only realized the restaurant was already shut down because of the fire when we got there. Opentable should not take reservations if it's not available. Thank you!
It was very clean, the food was excellent and the staff was very attentive
Food was delicious as always, waitress very attentive and friendly. Love gyu kaku beginning to end.
It is a good place to go with your friends. I like the beef tongue. I also like the mojito!
Golf is a Great waiter fast & efficient
Gyu Kaku is definitely a place i’ll Recommend to anybody it’s a very intimate experience for a date night and fun for the family. I love the whole cooking our own meal ,it’s makes the people you came with to interact with one other
Such a great experience for a pretty reasonable price. Great meats and a great time with friendly servers and good drinks.
My experience was great! It was my first time going their as well as it was my first time using the dining app. Everything was Flawless
the flavor of the meat is not so good, but the appetizer and the rice are delicious.
Staff was so attentive! Best service and food here at cooper sq, than any other one in the city!
Great restaurant. So much fun grilling your own meal. Great service. Great prices. Great drinks.....
My son loves coming here, specially for the s’mores
Wonderful service, staff was accommodating when we wanted to sit with another table as we had two separate parties without any issue. They made it a great experience and there are only good things I can say about this Guy Kaku location.
Today was my 11 month anniversary and I had a great time . Our server was absolutely amazing . The food was great . The drinks were fabulous. I will definitely be coming back again
This place was awesome. Had a great time. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone that likes meat.
It was a Birthday surprise dinner for my friend and we both really enjoyed the experience and the food. We intend on another visit...2 thumbs up!!
Always a pleasure
It was a great place for a first date. Excellent choices and atmosphere.
Amazing service, amazing scenery, amazing experience overall. Already planning our next date night!
Happy hour and lunch are the best times to come. It's nice that they have lunch and HH on weekends, as well as half off drinks.
My friend and I took a long-overdue day off work for lunch bunching and day drinking. Gyu-Kaku offers several tasty lunch sets at an affordable price. We each ordered a three-item Create Your Own Lunch combo (2 BBQ items--$12.95 and 3 BBQ items--$16.95) with a mix of beef, pork, chicken. The chicken was OK, but the spicy pork, garlic shoyu ribeye and bistro hanger steak miso were our faves.
The Japanese BBQ format can easily accommodate large groups or a couple of friends. Great place for lunch!
Good services and good food
It was really good. We did the $65 meat lovers and you get so much with it
Great value and food
Very good service and very good food. Decent quality and price.
Food was great, service was good (took a while for a server to initially come to our table though.) the booth seats were extremely uncomfortable. I’m a tall person (6’3).They felt cheaply made and minimal cushion.
Strongly recommend that you come with a crowd and meat eaters.
Food is average, at best. Service is very good.
Food was perfect the waiter was really nice and everything was clean and price was amazing. Highly recommend
We loved it here ❤️
Great food! Great atmosphere! Will come again! 10/10
Everything was fine. Food was good, service wasn’t bad.
Great experience! Food was delicious and the service was terrific as well!
Good overall. Service was good but a couple of items were mis ordered which they fixed right away. Good experience overall.
Michael was amazing! Had a great time with my friends on a Wednesday night.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and spacious eating space . The waiters were very attentive and kind to all patrons . It was my birthday that day and I plan on visiting again sometime in the future !
This place is not that clean. The table is pretty
My boyfriend and I frequently eat at the midtown locations but picked this one since it was closer to my sister's hotel downtown. Maybe it was just an awkward time right between the afternoon happy hour and dinner but service was lackluster compared to the other locations. The food was great as always, could just use a little more attentiveness to grill changes, plate needs, clearing empty dishes etc.
I had done a reservation for 8:30pm and when we got to our table there were to glasses of water already on the table that appeared to had been there for a while. One with no ice and the other with the ice already almost gone (from melting) when we asked the host why the glasses of water appeared that way she said they had set up the water 15-20 minutes before we got there. I don’t know about other customers, but I would have preferred the water be served to me when I got there or in front of me. Unless someone had made a special request before hand about wanting their drinks permade. Our chopsticks were also already out of their packaging. Which again makes me worried about how clean or sanitary this is.
On the bright side our waitress did save the whole experience for me as she did her best to be attentive despite how busy she was. So I really appreciate her. Otherwise that location as a whole needs to do a bit better. Their need to pre prepare was a bit too much for me and could have done with the prepoured water and unwrapped chopsticks.
This was a fun experience for a group dinner
The food was great, as the company! Able to use coupon and points. Everyone enjoyed themselves!
