I booked a reservation here for Mother’s Day lunch and it was PHENOMENAL. They had a Mother’s Day special where for 2 people for $90 or $100(depending on which one you picked) and you got a whole assortment of veggies, beef and chicken. This was my first time at a Japanese BBQ where you get to grill the food at your table and it was a 10/10 experience. Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and patient and explained how long to cook the meat ideally for and answer any questions. Don’t hesitate to eat here !
Took my mom down for an early Mother’s Day. Happy to find a location downtown. I could tell they were understaffed due to covid. Our servers were super nice. Shinji, the manager brought the Japanese hospitality to our table. He was Super nice and he gave us a complimentary green tea. The restaurant needed more help for the hours around dinner time. Food was just the right amount for three people. We ordered a Ninja combination. Had there been more help, the cleanliness of the store could have been better (bathroom) and bussing of tables. Still, we received all our items in a timely manner and the food quality was great. Will be back! The sauces and food were super delicious and came with a big bowl of rice.
Simply fun and amazing bbq. Safety protocol followed and the place was very clean. I’ve eaten at a lot of Asian BBQ places with the family but we now have a new favorite place. Highly recommended!
Procedures unfamiliar to new diners; no serious effort to properly orient newcomers so that they might fully enter into the experience of dining here. Server, behind mask, spoke so rapidly "explaining" things that we couldn't follow her; when asked to speak more slowly and distinctly, she apologized, then proceeded to repeat her original incomprehensible spiel at the same rate. Wine was priced by glass and bottle, with one bottle worth three glasses. Unfortunately the single glass pour was so stingy as to be a total rip-off.
SO GOOOOOODDD!!!!! Can't wait to come back for happy hour!
It was good but not great.
Excellent first time there, we loved it

The waiter was great but then he got busy. Not sure how they get away with it but they advertise Happy Hour but when we arrived we were told they don’t have it really. Waiter said he is not sure why all of the menus and marketing say that they have though. So, that was a bummer. Ordered $12 wine and glass was disgustingly dirty. My favorite is the Yaki Shabu but it was super fatty and inedible. Many requests were not available. Just an overall sad experience.
Waiter was amazing enjoyed a wonderful dinner many thanks
Great food and service. Ordered the Ninja meal and it came with a ton of food
It was great!
Great food, great waiter/waitress, COVID-19 safety protocol was in place. Enjoyed very much.
We chose a course meal for two. Amount of food was so much that 3 of us could not finish everything.
Eating on the sidewalk next to homeless harassing you for money is right on par for California. Such a great experience.
Fantastic service. Always consistent. Service was great. In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic era dining, everyone was professional, courteous, and clean. The food more importantly was the bomb.
There’s no heater outside. It was freezing. Their heater broke down
My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant on Valentine's Day. We waited a bit for a table since we came early to our reservation. Everything was clean and the host was very nice.
HOWEVER that's as good as it got. Our waitress was drunk. And im not talking tipsy, I am saying DRUNK. She fell on our table, then later fell into another table. She only asked my boyfriend if he'd like another drink and would ignore me lol. She also didnt make a lot of sense when she spoke and would forget. This girl didnt look that old and she was literally hammered. At the end of the night we tried paying with cash and they didnt accept cash. Ok... I used my card the total was around $119, and then i left a $20 tip in cash, because thats what i had. Just got charged $150. Im guessing they didnt just throw that $20 away right? So you're telling me I paid $170? I definitely didnt get that worth of food. So, drunk waitress, and extra charges? No thanks, avoid this place.
Dining outside in gaslamp is not always the bet due to the number of homeless in the area. Otherwise a good experience.
Mediocre over priced
We sat outside on a lovely, sunny autumn day (Thanksgiving). We ordered a la carte, and we had food coming and coming. Probably 15 different dishes? Everything was delicious and tasty (the white rice served its purpose). I can't say anything bad except the food just comes when it's ready, so if you want it coursed then order at separate times.
Extraordinaria experiencia de cocinar toda tu carne
Great quality food. Everything we ordered was great. The Harami Steak is the best.
Food was great! Service was good as well. This was our first time there and will be coming back for sure!
The food was fantastic and the experience made it worth the cost. Will come back here.
Wow! What a great experience. First time at a Japanese BBQ. Me and my friend didn’t know what to expect. But the food and service was really great. Jazzlyn was super helpful in explaining the menu since it’s quite overwhelming. We definitely ordered way to much, but that just means leftovers for me today.
I will say, it was quite loud, and combined with the music and the staff wearing masking and shields (Covid safety!) it was really hard to hear everything. But overall 5/5. Must try!
Food was great and our waitress was so friendly and on point. They are very safe with practicing covid guidelines and I felt very comfortable eating there. Will return soon.
Anniversary celebration. Food was quite pricey for the amount. Love the table grill set up.
It was our first time there and we love everything about it.
New restaurant, just opened! Food and service was amazing! Grill your own BBQ meats restaurant. Definitely good for groups or special occasion. Will be back soon! Thanks again.
