Gyu-Kaku - Chicago
Traditionally called Yakiniku, this Japanese barbecue spot is known for their delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats!
Enjoy an ice cold beer as you grill your own meat. Happy Hours offer the best deals on food and drinks, so be sure to wind down and get the night started right with us.
The establishment can be a little pricey. My group ordered the Samurai, which is designed for a group of 4, and we devoured it. It was delicious.
Very good. Had the all you can eat. Seemed we were a bit
Shorted on time especially since it took the waitress
quite a while to get back to us to order more food
One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Service and management are outstanding. Nice place to have a conversation. Lots of fun cooking the wide variety of marinated meats. Definitely will go back and recommend to my friends.
A busy place with good food but I felt very rushed by staff like the goal was to turn over tables as quickly as possible.
This is really Japanese Yakiniku.
Almost same as the Japanese Gyukaku
Javier was amazing! He gave us great service and even sang me Happy Birthday! Always enjoy coming here!
Great food and an awesome experience for my husband, my 2 children and myself. The food was amazing and the service was great, the manager even stopped by a couple times to make sure everything was perfect. Definitely recommend!!
Was nice and enjoyed it so much.
I am in love with this place, every single time I go we have a great time
Great restaurant, food was fantastic and service was great. Looking forward to trying the new location opening in denver!
I had a 7:30pm reservation. We were not seated until 8:30pm. Very disappointing when we had a reservation made. The host kept telling us 20-30 minutes.
The lunch spesial meats very poor quality
The food was delicious and cooking it in front of you makes the experience special.
The quality of the meat was not acceptable, it tore apart while cooking . They had to change the heating element four times because the meat was subpar. They have really lost the qualities that drew me here the first time. I was not happy and will give Other Locations One Last Try. Only One More.
Fantastic meal, probably our best while in Chicago! Our server Glenn was excellent!
Delicious sauces and great deals for lunch! There was not a single dish we didn't like.
This place was amazing and the food was amazing. I love that you get to cook your own food. It was an amazing experience.
We were in the same room with a party of 32 that made a lot of noise. My date and I could barely hear each other
Very fun! Never been to a Japanese BBQ restaurant before. Great food and ambiance. Great for having conversation.
Another excellent meal with great service. I will be back.
6 year anniversary. Was amazing!
They changed the menu and happy hour menu price. Still like the food and service, but a little bit overpriced.
SO great! We love Gyu-Kaku, and luckily got to go to the Chicago location on a recent weekend trip. They had an INCREDIBLE drink special menu at this location - $10 bottle of champagne, etc. We got that and a combo special. It's so much fun to prepare your own food, and all of the food is so delish! Such a great and fun experience!!
It was my wife’s birthday
Very good menu choices ! Excellent service!!
Gyu-Kaku was a really fun eating experience! The restaurant had a cool vibe and the food was really good. We went with a couple friends and got the Samurai meal, which allowed us to try a bunch of different things. It was PLENTY of food for 4 people. We all left totally stuffed and didn't even get through everything. Will definitely be back, would absolutely recommend.
It was a fun experience, grilling the foods on the table. All the foods were nicely prepared and ready to go. We got one of the happy hour meal combos and it contained plenty for 2 people. A touch expensive but not bad. I'd recommend it!
The service is extremely slow. If you get the waiter named John, you'll be stuck there for 1+ hour. I waited 15+ minutes in between courses. The wait is ridiculous and he forgets things left and right.
Great lunch sets, reasonably priced, superior service. Overall a great lunch venue of Japanese selections.
Delicious as always!
Excellent customer service and amazing food! The meat was very well seasoned. All three dipping sauce was flavorful.
My friends and I came during happy hour. Would definitely recommend making a reservation. It gets really busy. The food was great and the servers were really on top of their game. Made sure we were satisfied. One of the members of my party has celiac, so it was nice that most of their items were gluten free.
We make a reservation but still wait for more than half an hour. That sucks.
Everything was amazing
We make the reservation at 2:30, and they make us wait till 3:10 without telling how long will it be. Also, we ask to check at least three times. It was a terrible service at all!
need highchair for little baby, think more about the family with kids
Great service and value for the money. Lots of fun to grill food and a nice open environment. Everyone seemed very happy.
It was a good time with my friends.
I booked a reservation for 7:15 pm. I arrived there at 7:10, they told me that we should wait for another 15 mins. We finally sat down at 8:00! Almost all people who have reservations should wait for a couple more mins. A hot restaurant, but poor reservation system.
