I had a lunch with my friend. Lunch special was a very good deal and service was excellent.
Very good, they need better bar variety
We got the all you can eat menu and it was phenomenal! We already tried most of the menu items a la carte so knows exactly what to order and how to grill efficiently. Items arrives fast and our servers are so helpful! Highly recommend if you already know how to grill using their system.
This place is good for any occasion. My husband and i just went for a new experience, but there were people there for different reasons. There’s really no dress code, but I wouldn’t show up looking unpleasant.
It was great for lunch. This was the first time we had cooked our food at our private grill at a restaurant.
Marked special occasion when making the reservation but nothing was acknowledged. From the moment we sat down we were rushed. Courses kept coming out on top of each other to the point where we had no room on the table. Been several times to this and other locations, and service was unacceptable this time. No offer of coffee. We are midway through dinner when they dropped off our dessert on the table and check.
The food was great. The place was small, but comfortable.
nice place for the price！PS I was thinking about all you can eat but this one is not.
Fun place to eat and good value for tatsy food.
The food was good as always.
Used to be a great place for a unique experience. First time back since the pandemic. In one word the place now SUCKS.
We had all you can eat. But the server charged us extra on ice cream and it was supposed to be free item on the menu!!!!
This place was amazing! First time coming to a real Korean/Japanese bbq place. Servers had great recommendations and service was great. The meat and vegetables were high quality and were prepared delightfully! Great place for first-timers.
I never like writing a negative review but this one is a must to do. We have gone to this particular restaurant multiple times and never experienced the ridiculousness of what transpired. We were there on Monday, January 21 to celebrate a birthday. The downstairs was inoperable and thus everyone had to be upstairs - okay. Then it took 45 minutes to get drinks to the table and just prior to the last drink arriving we asked what was taking so long only to be told that the server was mixing the drink (martini) - which was his veery first. That drink went back upon arrival and then a wine was ordered in which was almost undrinkable - that went back and finally settled on just getting hot sake. If you can't have decent wine or a bartender then strongly suggest to EVERYONE to just get the sake - nothing to screw up.
I had spoken with the manager and while we were talking he said okay I understand (never apologizing) and that he would take care of the drinks. He did stop by the table a little later to ensure everyone was good - we expressed our displeasure at the service thus far and he then stated he would take care of some of the food. We were not looking for free stuff but it has to do with what transpired at the end of the meal.
At the end of the dinner (in which the birthday girl was served a very small scoop of ice cream with fudge (really in a Japanese restaurant) - we looked at the check and then asked the waiter to go and talk to the manager (remember the drinks and food comments above). Another manager stopped by and said that he knew nothing about it and that the other manager was gone - so he was going to leave the check as is (in his words). NOT ACCEPTABLE and we requested he go call the other manager as that was not the discussion we had. They ended up taking some of the drinks off but that's it. NOT APOLOGETIC AT ALL ABOUT THE MIX UP - which again is unacceptable in a service based industry.
Not sure if we will ever go back. No recommendation until better
Really tired of the some days you can get all you can eat others you cant, then we order the mountain special of beef at 4:30 and are told they only have 5 for the day and we can’t get it…been going for years and probably will not be going back
Be aware lunch combo when you want to select Kalbi meat.
There were Kalbi and Prime Kalbi.
For prime one you have to pay $5 more.
So 2 prime Kalbi costs $22.50,not $12.50.
Easily can be confused because there is Kalbi meat without extra charge.
Their lunch menu is misleading you if you have a low eyesight.
Be careful when you select meats for your lunch combo.
I celebrated my graduation with my family, and the three of us were STUFFED splitting the 2 person happy hour deal. Quality and value are definitely there :)
The good: We chose the all you can eat option only available on weeknight but you have to ask for the menu. The food quality was good and tasty. The not so good: On arriving, the place is disheveled, outdated mask and body temperature requirements, multiple signs warning of pickpockets, and the seats were sticky at my table. It took about 30 minutes to get service due to a shift change but once we got our waiter he was really good. No Asahi beer due to broken system but the Kirin was cold. The place needs a good cleaning.
It was awesome
Steak was delicious, garlic noodles were great, vegetables were underwhelming. Enjoyed our experience, but the place could use some sprucing up.
It was great dine-in. Reservation preferred and recommended.
It was my first experience, overall NOT worth the price. The meat are very small and a very small amount, no sauce , and the server do not offer cooking method or help you with BBQ, all vegetables are burned, but the server took out the price of vegetables, $60 for a small amount of meat and a dessert, just not worth it and not enjoyable, will not back again
Mother/daughter weekend. Fabulous experience and yummy food. We’ll be hitting this restaurant up next time we’re in town.
Great service! We were seating quickly and served promptly! Our server was great at explaining the menu and lunch courses! Would highly recommend.
I forgot our server’s name but she was the absolute best! Excellent service and excellent food. She made sure everything was okay all throughout our meal
Fantastic Service and Pleasant place with friends!
Celebrated a Birthday.
Always my go to restaurant in Chicago. Always delicious
Went for happy hour, very pleased with our experience! We got the happy hour combo for 2 and it was more than enough food, also got the okonomiyaki and the mango sangria. The mango sangria was great and we enjoyed the ambiance, service was attentive as well. Great value and fun experience!
It was our first time trying Japanese bbq and it was wonderful. We tried the set menu for 4 people. The food was more than enough for all of us and everything was delicious. Service was quick and the staff was friendly and helpful. We are definitely coming back soon.
It was also fairly social distanced as they have put wooden separators between the tables. They also checked our temperature before we came in
We went there for a smaller lunch and the ala carte did us fine. Meats were really high quality. I would highly recommend the shrimps if you want something else besides red meat. Also, the zucchini was an excellent option too. My 10 year old had a blast cooking his food.
Excellent food combined with a relaxed yet intimate experience. I observed many other couples, but also groups of friends. I'd definitely recommend.
Great as usual.
Food was delicious, will be coming back
We had a great meal, made more enjoyable by our server Michelle, who took time to give us advice and answer questions. We will be back.
It was sick.
This place has really gone downhill over the years. The food quality has declined, but the prices have not.
