Gyu-Kaku - Boston
Traditionally we called ourselves a Yakiniku Restaurant we are known for the delicious, fresh (never frozen), high-quality meats, veggies and Seafood items for grill!
Enjoy an ice cold Draft Beer as you grill your own meat and don't forget the signature dessert at the end of your meal!
very good……delicious meat
very fun format if you enjoy taking your time and cooking the food. we had a lovely curtained booth, private and romantic. a great experience.
They made us wait 45 minutes even though we had a reservation. Food was great
The staff was very friendly and courteous. That set the mood for a very pleasant evening. The food was great also.
the new kobe beef is a must!
The food was excellent and the whole process of cooking it by yourself was a unique experience. The staff was very friendly and the service in general very good!! If you go there make sure you try the fried banana cheese cake!! It was a desert out of this planet!! Overall, great value for money!! I would recommend it 100%!!
Great food and a fun experience, it's a bit pricey for the amount of food you get, but the service is quick, the atmosphere is nice and the drinks are reasonably priced.
Fun place because it’s Korean barbecue (right at your table). Food was excellent, very fresh. But it’s noisy—the practice of servers and hosts yelling loudly when new patrons are seated is silly. Our server was attentive even though the restaurant was full, at a late lunchtime (2:30 pm). Ambiance is a bit dark, like a wood paneled college bar scene.
It has such a cool layout and the food was amazing!
Good good good
Super fun family experience... celebrated my wife's bday-- success!
This place was so much fun. You order your food and then you cook it yourself on a flame that is built into your table. The food was delicious. The server tells you how long to cook the food on the flame. They came by at least four times to change the grill so the food doesn't stick.
We did the happy hour menu, which gave us a lot of food. They have four different menus that you can order from which is overwhelming. The happy hour menu gives you a sample of everything!
front desk service is slow and when they assign seats, they never look at the message we put there in reservation
Great service and great food
Love this place
It was pleasant way of spending time with colleagues, really good lunch special
My son and I both selected the 'beef' lunch menu and we enjoyed each of the four selections. Since the lunch came with salad, soup, edamame, and rice, both of left very full. The service was attentive but not obtrusive and the semi-private booth made it possible to have an easy conversation even though the restaurant was packed (on a Friday afternoon).
We felt like the wait staff was trying to rush us out.
It was great!
A very fun and delicious experience. The service was excellent, the waiter was very knowledgeable about the cuisine. We ordered the premium all you can eat for four people, come hungry! A great time group conversation over bbq.
Have been to Guy-Kaku Boston several times while my son is a BU student. Food and service have always been great! Love the lunch specials and combo deals. Would highly recommend!
Food was excellent. Great quality and well marinated meats. Wide selection but covered every aspect of Japanese food. Loved the options it was little overwhelming at first but once we got into it. East peasy from there. Can’t wait to go back!
We enjoyed our Sunday lunch, our grill kept going out, but the manager gave us a complimentary dessert which was nice! We will definitely go back again!
It was wonderful! The food and overall experience were truly amazing!
Cambridge location has better front desk service and more space; had to wait 30 minutes after reservation to be seated
We will definitely be going back. The food was amazing! Poke nachos are a 'must try'.
We came with two young babies in the large booth in the far back to the right. It was the perfect size and space for a gathering of four adults and two infants. However, there is a panel of broken glass right behind the booth. We did not notice at first, but the older of the two infants was standing, his back facing the table, playing with the panel and it’s sharp edges. Thankfully there was no injury, but please fix it before someone else injures themselves.
Everything was great. We loved the new lunch options with 4 types of meat, smaller portions + salad, edamame, miso shiru, & rice.
Fun time grilling your own Japanese style food.
Excellent food choices except for veggies and desserts. We had the supreme all you can eat option but there’s only a few veggie dishes and vanilla ice cream and s’mores for dessert.
Things changed a bit since 2018 or so, not sure if changed manager or operation strategy. Price is higher, service is poor, particularly the front desk.
Always a great place to go. Good food good service and draft Japanese beer - all the food was excellent and our sever was delightful and efficient. We will be back
Awesome place to eat and hangout. Great atmosphere!
Great place to be. Always love my time spent here.
I enjoyed everything, I just wanted a more consistent server, but I understand that things were probably crazy considering how we got there around 8 on a Friday night.
Table was ready 20 mins late. Every request when dining has to be made at least twice for our waiter to carry out.
Cleanliness needs to be improved. Places near the kitchen it smells like food waste.
