Gyu-Kaku - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
Our family celebrated a birthday here and we all had the Prime AYCE. Service was good and so was the food - the main reasons why we come back. The only things that stood out to me : with a timed AYCE group, our meat orders did not start coming out until 25 minutes from ordering. The appetizer items also came staggered, one-at-a-time and often we were short on food items which we fixed by ordering two items at a time. Our server made up for the delays by being attentive with beverage refills.
The front room at this restaurant is nice enough, though shabby, but the back table that they sat us at--for a business meal, was a disgrace. The booth seats were tattered, the walls were dirty with pealing paint. We immediately asked to move but one of the other tables for 6 was broken (the one right in front which looked terrible) and one was equally shabby. I was embarrassed to be entertaining business associates and fortunately had beaten them to the restaurant. I left and went next door where luckily there was a table. The host at Gyu Kaku was apologetic but also acknowledged that the restaurant is in dire need of refurbishment and a face lift and that we weren't the first to leave like that. I suggest they close and get that done. Very depressing and disappointing.
Gyu-kaku is always a fun time and this location is no exception. In fact, I believe their bibimbap is the best out of al of their local locations. We have a go-to order that never fails us and we always have a good time at the Bev Hills location. One of my favorite places, for sure.
We were lucky we made the reservation prior to coming since the line to get in was already building up. We got all our orders right, service was not as fast as one would think. However, this is one of my family's favorite places to go and will still keep on going.
Japanese grill your own meat restaurant with a good selection. I frequent many locations. Parking on the side shared with Fogo de Chao. We were there for a late lunch, 3pm on a Saturday. Got street parking right in front. Good food and good service, but I think our server was spread little thin. It looked like he was working all of the tables and doing drinks. He was a trooper though and took care of us. We got the AYCE, which was a bargain since I had points for $25 off. The hostess, who I think was helping him out, brought our first plates out, but they weren't ours. Another server brought out our correct plates shortly after. Our server's shift ended before we were done, and he made it a point to stop by our table on the way out. By this time more servers had started their shifts. Usually they're really on top of getting the grill grates changed when they get too gunky, but I did have to request it. All in all good place to eat!
Great service, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food is amazing! The quality of the meats and the portions make it totally worth it. Only downside IMO is the time limit (90 minutes) which is still plenty of time but I feel like I could have kept going.
We had a 10:30pm reservation and even though the place was packed, we were seated on time. We had the $29 DineLA menu. It was plenty of food but if you are very hungry, the all-you-can eat menu for $37 would be a better value. It's a fun place to visit with great service and very good food!
That was a terrible and disappointment ...
We ordered a Rib eye and it had a dead FLY.(I think the fly was marinated...)
That's so gross.
We were going to order more but after that happened,we were not able to eat anything...
Even the manager gave us some discount ,we won't back there.
The worst restaurant ever.
Wanted to try this for some time. We got the All you can eat, which gives you 2 hours to eat, unless, well unless you come around 9.30. because they close at 10.30. the thing is nobody told us. And when we pointed out at the last call, that we should have way more time, they didn't seem very understanding. Food wise it's ok. Until that moment we had fun
