Traditional Japanese soup
A classic cut for Japanese BBQ, Try it with Squeeze of lemon juice! Try with Lemon
Very bad experience. I’ve been a loyal Gyu-Kaku customer for nearly 20 years, visiting their restaurants in Japan, NY, Miami, and Arlington, VA. Sad to say that I will never go back. The service was horrible. I got up twice looking for help, and each time at least two servers just stood there looking at me. Food was decent but our grill was broken, it was so bad that they cooked some dishes in the back for our table. Then the bill came and it was just south of $200. That amount of money for some of the worst service I’ve ever seen in my life and a grill that did not even work. Gyu-Kaku, we’ve had many a great memories throughout the years, including our visits in Japan as my wife is from there, but sad to say that those years are long gone. Some memorable experiences should stay just that…as memories.
Very overpriced for what you get, but what do you expect it’s Arlington. Lives in Cali for over 15 years we’re you get the best Korean BBQ joints. This place barely gave any meat, the side dishes consisted of some dirty mushrooms, and some corn with butter on it. I will never go back again
Food is great, service - rather average: wine glass was extremely dirty, waiter should notice it without us pointing on it. Good place overall, will come again - hope they will do better next time. Meat treats are delicious, although I'd prefer to cook it over real charcoal instead of gas.
Really disappointed that the premium AYCE is not available on the weekends. Otherwise food was good.
So delicious and truly amazing service. They have their system down pact! Would absolutely go again.
Great food and great service.
It was packed in the restaurant. There were no more social distance but the food was always delicious.
Nice and so fun! Will definitely come back!
I loved this place! It is a little pricey but worth it 😊
Would get 5* throughout but just a little too close to other diners/ a little loud. Great! Will definitely go again.
My husband took me here for my 30th birthday yesterday and it was amazing! The experience was incredible. Great food, the service was fast & we ordered a Patron shot that was almost half the glass lol We'll definitely be back!
I would recommend for the experience. My particular table was somewhat small with a lot of plates it’s hard to navigate and also the service I received from my one waiter was subpar. I would recommend when you put down the food give a small instruction like the foil food vs the plated raw food how long to cook them and things like that. He just took the order dropped the food and walked away kind of took away from the experience for us
EXCELLENT AS USUAL. I LOVE THIS PLACE
Food was great and very well presented!
Service was poor
Umakara rib eye was amazing! This is our second time so we will surely be back soon
The new staffs are incompetent to perform their basic duties. I definitely miss the old team.
My husband and I ordered the Meat Lovers Course and it was fabulous. The flavors, timeliness of the meal, and service were great. We'll definitely be back!
First time visiting and greeted by friendly staff. Excellent at your table grilling and dining MGMT experience. We ordered the meat lovers for two - right balance of several meat selections with rice, salad and kimchi. My one recommendation (infilled request) is to accompany the meat with a side plate of lettuce (for wraps). A delightful gem in Clarendon. Definitely worth the trip from DC.
This restaurant is an excellent place for team building business meals, as it requires all diners to constantly interact with one another as they cook their meals. We will be back!
The food is delicious!
More of a family gathering of only 3 of us.
Very good food. However in regards to bbq menu choices, the offered combinations were not wide enough for us; all meat - all beef or all pork or mix & match with minimal amount of veggies. Instead, I chose the Chef’s BBQ Special for 2 and then added Calamari, Shrimps and assorted veggies. That worked really well. We also had 3 different types of salad included. A little bit of everything in in moderation was very satisfying!
This is my new ‘favorite to visit when I’m in town’ bbq!
Having been to Gyu-Kanu in Japan, I can say this is THE closest I’ve gotten to recreating that experience. I was so extremely excited with the menu and the options! I’ll be coming back for SURE!!
Great food and Service
It was great.
Love this fking place!!!
Very good for people who have eaten Yakiniku in Japan but it costs about three times more including a tip.
Buen lugar. Mejoraría los paquetes, sin embargo muy agradable experiencia
Fun to cook the food yourself and the meats were delicious. Cocktails were only okay.
Great food and service!
Early Father’s Day dinner
such a good place, if you aren't that hungry I would go for the a la carte - Would definitely recommend to anyone for a new date spot or a nice dinner
First time here and i loved it.Food was excellent and staff was professional..Great spot for a date night .
The meals are always delicious and the portions are extremely generous! We like that each food runner took the time to explain what he/she was delivering to the table, as having so many plates was confusing.
Not impressed. We arrived a bit early and had to wait 20 minutes before being placed at a table next to the restrooms. Hostess than gave us an ultimatum of having to finish dinner in 90 minutes because she needed the table. We decided to rather leave than being hurried. Before talking to the manager, we got a new table. Food was okay but service very hurried and table and sauce containers on the table quite sticky. Overall, it took 2 hours to get through the “meat lovers” menu. At that time about half of the tables were empty and there certainly had not been a need for us to vacate the previous table. Wouldn’t go back.
It was a wonderful experience. I took my mother and my little brother here for lunch and the experience was amazing and fun. The food selection is outstanding and the customer service was wonderful. Don’t forget to ask about the s’mores at end too!!!
What an AWESOME restaurant. Plenty of food AND you get to cook it on the
gas grill in the middle of the table. We ordered the party of 4 dinner and it
was AMAZING from the Miso Soup through all of the different meats to the
final Smores. Everyone had a blast and we will definitely be back. Go to this
restaurant, you won't be disappointed!!
Being fully vaccinated, we wanted to go somewhere that we have been craving but unable to go during the pandemic. We went here to celebrate my partner's birthday. Having a newborn and other obligations, we had to make a late reservation. Immediately after being seated, we were pressured to order immediately and not have enough time to thoroughly go through the menu. Additionally half the party had never been to this restaurant and I have a food allergy so this experience was very anxiety inducing. Furthermore, we were informed the kitchen was closed but the bar and desserts are available. When we were ready to order a couple of drinks (approx 2 min difference), we were told the bar was closed but they could pull strings to get us drinks (not mixed drinks either). Do not go to this location within an hour of closing if you do not want to experience anxiety or to feel like you need to make immediate decisions.
I have never had this experience at the other Gyu-Kaku's I've experienced across the country.
So GOOD! This is a really fun place to eat and the food is amazing! We had 3 people in our party. We ordered the meat lovers dinner for 2 plus some extra sides and meat. The spicy cucumbers and the garlic fried rice were our favorites. The zucchini and Kobe short ribs were also good. The meat is extremely tender and everything cooks quickly. I like that you can cook it however you like it - rare or well done. I wasn’t crazy about the jalapeño shrimp - it was just too spicy for us, but everything else was delicious. The only disappointment was that they ran out of shishito peppers by the time we ordered. The quantity of each meat is very small but we were all full by the time we were done eating. The s’mores for dessert are a nice touch! Will definitely go back!
