   We love Gyst, and were looking forward to a birthday celebration on the 1st, but they were closed when we arrived at 5pm as scheduled - perhaps due to the ongoing snowstorm that was hitting the city at that time. We will certainly try again soon

   Made a reservation a month in advance. Showed up and they were closed. Was super bummed as I had my boss In town for this and he had booked his travel specifically around making this Thursday dinner. Had a great experience last time, so giving the benefit of doubt here. Hope everyone is ok and that the business isn’t closed for good.

   Our table of 10 had a great experience! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The wines were unusual and perfectly chosen.

   Gyst is a lovely, women-owned bar and restaurant specializing in fermented drinks (homemade kombucha, unusual wines and beers) and food. It’s a welcoming and warm place to find unusual wines, and your server will happily explain their wine list and pour you a taste before you commit. The meat and cheese plate (aka the Motherboard) is full of delicious goodies. Very relaxed and unpretentious.

   We had a gift card or we'd not have found GYST. We'll go back! Very friendly and informative staff. Good learning environment for people (like us) exploring fermentation as a healthy alternative. But the best part is that it was delicious and reasonably priced. The Kale salad topped off our 1/2 Motherboard. We recommend both mightily!

    We came to GYST fermentation bar because we read about it in Esquire magazine and it did not disappoint. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. The food is different then what I ever have on a regular basis and we loved it and that’s also what made it special.
