Wonderful evening with truly delicious and creative food and OUTSTANDING service from Julio. It would have been nice to be able to confirm patio seating in advance - we had requested it when we made our reservation several weeks ahead but then it was not available. A minor point for an excellent restaurant where I will return and have already sent friends.

Delicious food, as always! Kind of bummer dining experience most recently - squeezed into a small table right next to a guy with a hacking cough on one side and a screaming party on the other. They wouldn't move us despite having a lot of open tables at the hour we were there (pretty late). An aberration though, generally this place is great.

We went for the last day of DC Restaurant Week. The Manager told us that they sold out most of the dishes that had been on the Restaurant Week (RW) menu so we would have to order from the regular dinner menu (more expensive). The waiter then told us he had “saved” some of the plates offered during RW. We ordered 3 small plates and left. Food was so-so. Not going back. Too much hassle.

Good service and a cool space. The ood wasn't anything special in our opinion and quite expensive for the portion sizes. We ordered four small plates to split between two people and were still hungry when we left!

We enjoyed the food at Gypsy Kitchen and our waitress was great. It had a very young vibe and energetic ambiance. However, it was so noisy that it was difficult to have a conversation with some in our group.

This was my 4th visit to Gypsy Kitchen. I really like the food and ambiance. I like the menu choices. I try some new dishes each time and have loved every one. I will definitely come back. Last night the service was rushed. We ordered 5 small plates. The waiter initially brought 3 dishes. Before we had finished any of first dishes, the waiter brought out the remaining two plates. There was no room on the table for all of the dishes. We made it work by staking plates and grabbing food off plates being removed. I would have preferred a slower pace. The waiter warned us that the last two plates were coming in 5 minutes, but this 5 minute warning contributed to the rushed pace.

We initially checked in and we’re going to be seated at a table downstairs, but asked if there was any availability outside. They said yes in a few minutes, and to wait at the bar. It ended up being almost a half hour, and the bartender didn’t come over until we flagged her down, but the manager on duty went over and above in her apology and insisted and covering a round of drinks and gave us a free order of hummus which more than corrected any inconvenience. The food and drinks from appetizers to dessert were all amazing. We had most of the small plate menu and most of the cocktails between everyone in our party. Our favorites were the hummus and lebnha (the pita that it comes with is unreal), the fried cheese balls, the fried cauliflower, and the mushroom flatbread. All the drinks were great, especially their espresso martini. We had a great night and hope to be back!

I don't have photos.. srry.. but we sat on rooftop and they had fans!!! It was like we were seated in a garden tree house! So nice. The waiter was absolutely knowledgeable, attentive, and nice! We both ordered the half chicken. Let me say it was superb! Side of sauces and picked onions. Rice pilaf was on point and mock tails were to die for!!! If you like they have a bar area upstairs and plenty of seating downstairs.

We loved the Gypsy Kitchen. The food and service were delightful. The atmosphere is interesting and relaxing. Surprisingly, it wasn’t too loud. We could talk without straining to hear each other. The whole experience was great!

Everything about this place was amazing…the ambiance, the food, the service. Our server Julio was top notch…described the food well and made us feel like the most important guests.

I’ve been wanting to come here for over a year and finally made it over. Presentation was fine but the taste of the food was lacking. Some things were very bland and others all you could taste was the one spice overpowering it. Really disappointed considering the potential. The menu seems like the chef is uninspired.

The flat bread was amazing with the humus. The rooftop bar was nice ambiance. Enjoyed the happy hour. Bar tenders were great.
