Just like the bohemian travelers who inspired our name, Gypsy Kitchen’s alluring flavors aren’t bound by borders. Instead, our chefs go wherever the inspiration takes them, crafting deeply creative dishes that transport you to uncharted places around the Mediterranean and beyond. A menu designed to taste and share gives guests the freedom to explore the menu at their own pace, connecting over seductive flavors, festive craft cocktails and curated regional wines.

The alluring interior matches the menu, with welcoming dining spaces that foster connections and spark conversation. Food was excellent but the seating was way too crowded - waitstaff continuously bumped into me through no fault of their own - there should have been fewer tables in the space - plus behind me (left and then left as you enter) there was a large table and an unnecessary piece of furniture that should have been removed to create more space for diners. The whole place was also way too noisy - could have benefited with some sound dampening. But the food was excellent- best food I’ve had in DC for a hot minute

We had the most incredible experience at Gypsy Kitchen in DC! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant atmosphere, beautiful decor, and lively energy set the tone for a memorable evening. Our family felt immediately welcomed, and every dish we tried was full of flavor and creativity. The menu offered something for everyone, and we loved sharing plates—it was the perfect way to enjoy so many unique and delicious options. The staff was kind, attentive, and made sure our celebration felt special. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we could come back. A must-visit in DC!

As usual the food at Gypsy Kitchen was very good, the space is lovely, but the service remains sub par. The hostess seemed totally oblivious that she is in the client service business and completely lacked basic politeness. No hello, no welcome, no please or thank you. Our presence seemed like an imposition to her. And when the waiter made an error in closing the bill on my credit card, instead of apologizing and explaining the mistake, she went straight to ask to see the credit card charges on my phone. Come on.

I will get this place five stars. I came on a busy Friday night and even thought they were jammed back my waitress was attentive to my party. The food came in a fast, timely manner. I got a lemon drop martini and also the hummus with lamb. Will be returning soon.

Ya know.... EVERYTHING was great. The bartender was amazing (read: excellent drinks), the food was tasty and innovative, and the service was great. Highlights include the Last Word and NY Minute cocktails; lamb hummus; and the Spanish Benedict. Just when I thought the Mediterranean scene in DC had been overdone, I (finally!) what to Gypsy Kitchen. Will def go again.

The food was delicious and the drinks were unique. The pork belly was my favorite, so tender and well flavored. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their small plates!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, with great flavors and quality that truly stood out. The prices were very reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality of the dishes. The service was fantastic—our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The host was incredibly kind and accommodating, going out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, even making space for our stroller without any hassle.
