Really great food, the wait staff and service is also on point. The food came in at perfect timing and drinks. The food was really delicious, especially their charcuterie and steak.

Wonderful experience . The food and service are exceptional, but it is FREEZING in the dining room on a cold night. I’m sure the doors were open because of Covid -19 safety but I will definitely “layer up” next time.

We booked Gwen for a birthday dinner with friends and it was the perfect choice. First of all the service was impeccable. From the first person who greeted us and offered to charge our phone for us while we were dining, to our server Amanda and to the sommelier Andrew. Gwen's wine list is extensive and we needed some help navigating to find a wine in our price range that would compliment the meal. Andrew made some great choices for us. Referring to Amanda as our server is an understatement. It was more like she was our dinner concierge. And the food? Fantastic. Started with the bone marrow (heaven) and the octopus (not going to lie....it was a bit spicy), followed by the 30-day aged bone-in ribeye with duck fat potatoes, brussels sprouts and broccolini. I would have the same meal again tomorrow. It was a lovely evening and everything I expected.

There were 4 of us but gave us 2 pieces of bread and so we asked for more! The waiter didn’t tell us they were going to charge me $5 for the bread and $2.50 for the butter. Of course this is just a fraction of what I paid for the dinner $385 but at least as a courtesy tell me before you add in my bill. The waiter just asked for an apology his co worker who forgot to mentioned that there was an extra charge. The charge were not taken off!!! The bone in rib eye was so so nothing special. The pork porterhouse was good. The yellowtail crudo was tiny tiny pieces all you see is the white plate ripped off! I was very disappointed!

The experience of this meal will stay with me for quite some time. The cocktails were superb. The grilled octopus was perfect in a delightfully spicy sauce. The hanger steak was simply luscious, and the duck fat potatoes added the right balance of crispness and tanginess. I had a glass of the Scribe pinot noir. I'm going back for more.

Thanksgiving.

Dined here a few weeks ago and was very impressed. Went in a second time for a drink and was considering dinner again but didn’t enjoy the bar area very much. Snarky bartender turned us off. Thought of giving it another go for a relaxing thanksgiving dinner. What a mistake. Horrible service from the bartender again. Terrible cocktail terrible communication and service. Dinner was somewhat tasty and certainly crafted well but poorly executed. Soup was very good but the bowl had a solid 6 spoonfuls in it. Seemed odd. The gem salad was downright gross. Nothing good about it at all. The turkey was very tasty but received 2 very small slices of breast and scraps of dark meat. Probably 3.5 oz of protein all together. The stuffing seemed like charred leftovers, very dark, very bitter. The carrots were excellent and the Brussels were lackluster. Not as described. Found a piece of plastic or something in the cranberry sauce, never got followed up with from a manager or anyone regarding this. Everyone seemed unhappy and unwilling. May give it a try again on a regular service evening for dinner but definitely off of our radar now.

Once you got your dessert it was a rush to get you out the door. The server did not ask if we wanted an coffee; however the server asked if the couple next to us want coffee or tea. I got a glass of wine and was not asked if I wanted another glass and my water glass was not even refilled. Try eating sticky toffee pudding with nothing to wash it down.

This review is for the Thanksgiving prix fix menu. Overall, an outstanding meal with great service, great food and great ambiance. We were seated upstairs---which was lovely. Private, intimate and not noisy. I'm considering a return visit for Christmas!!

We were a party of five for Thanksgiving. The food was very good, the service was very good but the ambience was poor due to the high noise level; it was tough to hear people at the other side of our round table. On our previous non T’giving visit the atmosphere was almost hushed but today there was just a very high level of ambient noise. Not sure anything could be done about it but it was a contrast with eating at home.

I love Gwen's restaurant but the Thanksgiving dinner was a miss. The meat was cooked to perfection.. the stuffing was good..the Brussel sprouts were ok..loved the mole concept, but didn't taste any mole flavoring to speak of.
The carrot dish was over cooked and flat out tasteless. Really needed pumpkin pie for dessert.. no Thanksgiving dinner is complete without it. The toffee bread pudding was overly sweet. The soup starter dish was much too too tart. The gravy was very good.. fantastic wine selection... But I won't be going back for Thanksgiving.

Hard to make a review when the restaurant wasn’t open at the time my reservation was booked for. Only for my husband checking directions from our hotel and noticing “closed” on Google, we would have turned up at 8pm ready for our meal! I even received a confirm your reservation email the day before. So at our first night away together in 2 years, we were left with no dinner reservation with 2 hours notice on a weekend in West Hollywood!

Bartender made an awesome Old Fashion. We had Wagyu Bresaola, Oysters, Grilled Octopus, New York Steak, Duck Fat Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, and Passion Fruit Cheesecake for dessert. Everything was superb and delicious. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was upbeat.

What a spectacular evening! I've enjoyed Gwen before, but with a group of 8 we shared so many plates--all wonderful--and a terrific magnum of red wine recommended by the sommelier. Our server was charming and outstanding. We felt very special but not overly stuffed.

I think things could've gone differently. But the maitre d' seemed standoffish to me and my husband from the get good. My husband dropped me off in the front of the restaurant and I wanted to make sure where the valet was. I started to ask him the question since he was outside but ignored me. We went in finally as my husband found the valet fine and we're ushered to the bar while we wait for our table. No one entertained us. The maitre d' said hi and asked "everyone" around us how their food was but never us. Not once. It was off putting because he made everyone welcome except us. My husband is a chef and admired Curtis Stone do I made it a point to get reservations there for his birthday. It was underwhelming at best.

We sat at the chef's counter and it was amazing. These seats are on a counter right in front of the kitchen so you get to see exactly what has to be done in order to get your food out to you. You can ask the chefs working some questions about the food and the food preparation. To see these people work was so interesting. They all work so hard and they turn out amazing food. Took a friend there for her birthday and we had such a great time. There are only 6 chef's counter seats so if you want to sit there, you need to include that request in your reservation under comments.

Excellent food in a very cool atmosphere. Sat in that back which is nice to see the kitchen. But also loud when the chefs call orders. Food was amazing. Can’t be for everyday tho when the special steaks start at $150.

Sorry to say our experience was not good, mostly because the service was really lacking. I had been to Gwen before and had a great experience, so I was excited to take a group of friends. Despite the restaurant being only a little more than half full, we had long waits for our cocktails, poured our own wine, and we repeatedly had to flag people over for different things. Our server did not provide us with good guidance in ordering. For example, if six guys order a charcuterie plate that has three pieces of each meat on it, wouldn’t you advise them to order two plates so they don’t have to cut a little piece of salami in half to share? Overall, a disappointing night.

Very tasty appetizers. Had the grilled octopus, which is very well seasoned, and the tasty lam ribs. For the main course, we had the 30 day dry aged ribeye. So full of flavor. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Good wines. My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary. They sat us in the glass encased side room, which is perfect, for a quiet and romantic dinner.

Food was fantastic—not just steaks but the sides. I had the pre-theater menu, which I chose the market salad, hanger steak, with some of the best bread I’ve ever had as well as panna cotta. The wine selection was fantastic and my husband and I had a grand ol time.

We had our anniversary dinner at Gwen my wife and daughter loves chef Curtis Stone so we had to try it. Fantastic dinner experience we had the short loin 36 or dry aged yummy! The Murray Cod very delicious and crispy skin not fishy. Market salad very good along with the Wygu Bresole. Finished with the chocolate whiskey dessert! Great meal we will come back again!i
