Gustav's Pub & Grill - Tigard
Great food, comfortable seating. Great Staff... Perfect for a mid range dinner. Took my boss and his wife and we had an extremely good experience.
Love this place.
This was our fourth or fifth visit to Gustav's and we've had positive experiences every other time. Just after we were sat for this visit, the hostess informed the server he was 'cut' and his attention was all downhill. He did not get my drink order correct.....(excuse me as I wave some of these fruit flies away from the table)....we were not able to finish our appetizer before the food arrives...the server dropped the meal on the table and rushes off (a 'is there anything else I can get for you' would be nice) and he never checked back to see how the meal was. The food was good quality...service sucked!!!!
We arrived and were seated quickly, however very close to a couple of large groups. We ordered the sausage and cheese fondue and two drinks. The fondue came right out, but the drinks took a long time. We were through part of the fondue before they came. As for the fondue, the sausage was cold and the bread was a bit dried out. The noise got so loud we couldn't hear each other, so we asked to be moved, which eventually happened. The dinners we ordered were good, but aside from the main course our anniversary dinner was a bust. We will not be going back any time soon, if at all.
Unfortunately I was highly disappointed in the food here. Though they were very accommodating. We showed up an hour early with 1 less person than expected. They say us quickly. It was my stepdaughters 18th birthday and they have nothing available for birthdays. No dessert, no meal deal, nothing.
We had ordered and got out food roughly 20 to 25 minutes later. When the food arrived it was cold to the touch, which bothered me mostly because my meal was a rare tri tip.
For the 5 of us it was over 130 dollars for a menu item each and a soft drink each. No special mixed drinks or anything like that. We have better food and value at places like Red Robin's where it's 75 dollars or less for meals, drinks, cocktails, and they sing and give you a free meal and dessert for your birthday.
Also, this isn't the best place for children. No childrens menus nor items that younger kids are interested in eating.
In conclusion, our server was on top of our needs and she was very nice. Unfortunately the food was under par.
Love their food! Their fondue is the best and we've had several of their entrees and they are all good. Excellent service!
Great experience , Our server was the best ! Will definitely be back!
The food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. Our wait staff was genuine and friendly. My 13 year old granddaughter had been asking to try German food, so we made a reservation for my wife’s Birthday! She loved it! I was quite surprised that she loved sauerkraut, as she ate part of mine! Yes we will be back!
Mariana was a very nice server, attentive and friendly. She explained the menu very well.
Arrived 15 minutes earlier than our 6:30 reservation and was told we needed to wait for a table and we would be seated closer to 6:30. When we finally were seated, there were 8 tables open in the area we were seated. No idea what the wait was all about.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Gustavs. The beers were very cold and delicious. We had the fondue with bread. We scooped up the fondue in record time. Thought about ordering more, but knew our meals were going to be large so we sadly decided not to reorder. The four of us all ordered something different and all enjoyed our choices of sausage variety, cabbage rolls, sauerbraten, and a pork schnitzel. Our waiters were excellent, attentive, polite and helpful in giving us direction in ordering our beers and meals.
Our server was fantastic! We flew in for the weekend and invited friends and family for dinner.....We had to change our reservation due to more friends joining us and they didn’t hesitate. Once seated our party increased a few more and without blinking they moved us to a larger table to accommodate the 15 of us. We’ve never felt more welcome at a restaurant and the food was fantastic to top it off! Thank you!
Took my dad here for Father’s day- Really good food. I lived in Germany so it’s always refreshing to find good German food. Not 100% authentic, but close enough. Definitely recommend.
We had a great time... Everyone loved their entrees and the beer was superb! We appreciated that we could stay as long as we wanted as we were revisiting a trip to Switzerland and Austria that we have taken recently. We had plenty of time to review memories and share the fun moments again. Thank you very much!
We enjoyed our dinner at Gustav's in Tigard. We were seated in a quieter area than our first which made for a more pleasurable evening. The food was well prepared, service welcoming and inviting. Having an advance reservation made is a practice we will use for our next visit.
Place was half empty but service was slow. The food quality has fallen over the years, sad to say.
I like this place and have been coming a long time. It doesn't have the ambiance of the old Rheinlander on NE Sandy, but few places did. I miss the strolling accordion players and the German songs. The food is as good as ever, although the new shiny and more complicated menus are not an improvement. As Portland becomes more and more "global" and PC, traditional German food may be on the way out, but I hope not.
I absolutely LOVE the Bier Onion Soup! It's amazing. The rest of our meal was great as well. My husband loves the Prime Rib Dip!
One of the best places for German food. Great and pleasant staff.
I recommend the restaurant because you can't find German food in Tigard area. However, I've been to all the Gustav's in the area and the red cabbage is always a hit or miss and this time under cooked and lacked taste. The Veal Jagerschnitzel was great and very large portion. The Sauerbraten was a little dry but the taste was good. The staff is very attentive and shows great care as always!
Maria, our server was impeccable with her attentiveness, kindness and service over all. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
We had lunch with a large group and were given a nice table in a quiet part of the restaurant (where we wouldn't bother anyone, which turned out to be great) and a dedicated server. Our server was amazing - kind, competent, and pleasant. The food was also really good - from the shared fondue to our various plates. No one had a bad thing to say.
Great place for lunch with friends.
As always excellent food and service! We have never experienced anything less at Gustav's.
My wife met family and friends here and had a great time!
Yummy yummy yummy yumyumyum yuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The food choices were fantastic, the only thing that we all wished for was that there was the Fondue available. I believe the fondue is your signature item, and should have been available. The server was amazing, but I believe Pancakes and waffles should be added next year.
The food here is phenomenal. Gustav’s hasn’t disappointed any of us yet. The only reason I don’t give it a 5 star is the speed of service was rather slow and we weren’t waited on quiet as soon as we would have liked. Overall a great experience and a great Mother’s Day lunch was had!
I like Gustavs and chose it for my Mothers Day celebration. Food was good, people friendly and I will be back. and I have more beer steins than you!!
Received a free apple strudel because we were there celebrating a birthday
If you like German food (and even if you just like good food anyway) - this was a great representation. Food was tasty, service was good. A nice, clean restaurant.
Wonderful schnitzel, Bavarian pretzels and wurst. Would gladly go again.
Both the food and beverages were delicious. Definitely a different menu mix from most chains. Comfort food!
Given a dirty spoon fir dessert. Spider on web dropped from ceiling to center of table before meal. Please clean better.
Vegetables and produce are below quality - we were served mostly asparagus stems that were inedible . Meats are good. Portions are good.
We had a delicious Easter Brunch. The service was wonderful.
Easter brunch was fabulous and really enjoyed. The best pecan pie I have ever eaten and I've eaten a lot! Will check out their regular brunch, off the menu, here soon.
The Easter brunch buffet was fantastic! Our family loved it.
Food, service and ambiance... OUTSTANDING!
Couldn't have asked for a better evening! We'll be back!
highly anticipated eating here. the food was quite bland and ordinary. It was not to the standards of Rheinlander and Gustavs that I expected. the wait staff were awesome and the place was very clean
Amazing food , drinks and perfect night! We will come back with friends!
I LOVE this restaurant!! The food is outstanding and the service is wonderful. On busy nights, there can sometimes be a long wait. My son's birthday was on a Friday night and we used the opentable website to make 7:00 reservations. It was busy, but we walked right in.
