Love the fondue and chicken schnitzel! So happy they have reopened.
Great time with the family at Gustav’s. We enjoyed the food the beers and the service. Schnitzel, sausages and pretzel fondue were amazing! Go great with a little beer. Wife left her scarf and wait staff ran outside to give back to us.
Very grateful for Gustav team to open up and serve us. Make sure you make reservations!
Gustav's is back! Had a wonderful experience on the patio. I enjoyed the food and the service was incredible.
Great service and good cocktails, but the food was terrible! The soft pretzels were hard and the cheese fondue was cold. The $5 add-on salad was overdressed. Why did I have to pay for a side salad with an entree?? The $22 salmon was dry yet oily and the side dish had an odd taste and texture. Sadly, I doubt I will revisit Gustav’s again.
We haven't eaten dinner at Gustav's in quite a while and were very pleased with the service, quality of food and pricing. We will definitely be returning soon.
The food was amazing! I always order the Pork St. Moritz and it was perfect!
Always awesome food and service we have been going here for years.
Great service, solid, well crafted dishes and cocktails. Excellent draught execution and selection.
Thank you Marlene! We are so happy you enjoyed your visit. We look forward to seeing you again soon. -Gustav's
Really really tasty food, however the table I sat at was weirdly placed and kinda uncomfortable to sit and eat at which was a bummer but other then that it was awesome.
We love Gustav’s, it is our favorite restaurant by far. The reason; the food is always excellent, the service is always excellent and the booths offer a quieter, more cozy atmosphere to enjoy a great meal. If you’re in the mood for a bit more fun the bar area is great too.
This is one of our first restaurant indoor eating experiences since the start of Covid, with three of us dining. Gustav's had just opened at partial capacity and so it was a quiet experience with plenty of space between patrons' tables. Two of us had the two sausage platter, mine with the wild boar and bratwurst, both of which I loved, with the sauerkraut and red cabbage which went perfectly. My husband had the Pork St Moritz schnitzel and was very pleased with that as well. For appetizers between us we had the potato pancakes and the fondue. I don't eat cheese so didn't try the fondue but they liked it. The whole dinner was good and satisfying comfort food, and the service was courteous. We felt the margaritas were well priced at $8. Look forward to going back!
Food service was slow. They Forgot the pretzel we ordered and served the wrong side on one plate.
Then disappeared for 10 minutes .
This place always rocks. The food and service are awesome.
When we were seated to our table we did not get any napkins or silverware. I had to ask for them after we were in the middle of eating our fondue. Also we did not get much bread for the fondue. The waiter was slow in serving our fondue. Also I went there for my birthday and the apple streudel per my request was not available due to covid our waiter told me. In all it was a disapointing evening.
My brother and I came to Portland to visit our mom in a group home. We haven’t seen her in 9 months due tonCOVID 19 and took her to lunch at Gustav’s. She loved her burger!
They have a great selection of items both German, other inspired and American dishes.
Great dinner and love the bread and cheese fondue. Yummy.
We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and the fondue, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
We ate outside. The patio was lovely and quiet. The food and service were very good. Everyone was wearing their masks and following social distancing guidelines, even on the patio. We felt safe, well-serviced, and happily full of fondue.
Thank you so much for the kind review, the team here works daily to ensure we are making the right moves with all of our new "normals". We look forward to having you here again soon!
great food but expensive
but we will return as in the past
We went here for our first time and it was outstanding!
We are so happy you enjoyed your first visit, we can't wait to see you again!
We had a very relaxing, calm late lunch at the Tigard Gustav’s. Our server was attentive without being annoying and he was knowledgeable. He got our children’s order in while we chose ours so that the kids didn’t have to sit too long! We will definitely visit again and recommend to our friends.
Thank you for the kind review! We love having families join us. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Good German food in a nice environment. Pleasant servers and staff.
Thank you Brad! That means a lot to our staff, we look forward to having you here again soon.
Our food was excellent, our service was not. I requested a table as my guests are too big for the booth. They sat the 3 of us at a 8 top and It seemed as if our waiter was Inconvenienced to serve us.
It was perfect...service was good and friendly... chicken schnitzel was delicious!! Everything was great
Food was authentic. Price was good. Very good service. Would go back again. Only complaint was server wears a lot of perfume. When she left the perfume stayed. Other than that the restaurant is a hit every time. We loved it.
Gustavs has been a Portland area favorite for years.
They never disapoint!
Our server was excellent and this was our first night out as a family during COVID, so it was an experience!
Had good food and service. An easy choice for dinner out
Despite COVID, GUSTAV'S seemed a popular location, with large parties walking in and being accommodated. The food was mediocre; the texture was good, the thinness of the schnitzel was good, but both plates just lacked any real flavor.
Hostess was amazing! Whatever you do, do not lose her!
Wonderful!!.. the food from beginning to end was wonderful. The service outstanding and fun. You couldn't find a better place for a business meal or just a nice dinner..
I was surprised that there was not crab fondue. It was why I took my friend there .I was talking about it on the way over.I think it’s like going to red lobster and they did not have biscuits.Kinda surprised about the turkey dinner not being there .
Ok everything else exceeded my expectations.Thank you so much.
Very pleasant evening. Sat outside at table set up on the grass. Tables well spaced out. Great service and very pleasant waitress! The strudel is the perfect end of an enjoyable meal.
Only critique would be that fondue is served in ramekin with no form of heat. It gets cold and sets pretty quickly and is difficult to eat. Otherwise, the flavor of the cheese fondue is delicious.
My family loves German food, and Gustav's never disappoints. Highly recommend the fondue starter. Delicious!
It’s always great. Sat on patio. Well spaced out and only one other couple outside.
Great as always
As Always awesome food. Fantastic service. Will totally go back!
Limited pandemic menu but most of the old favorites. Food was fine but not quite up to pre-pandemic standards. On the plus side they greatly expanded outdoor seating.
Need to expand the menu. Bring back the Cabbage rolls
Service was great, food was excellent.
