I really appreciated that the service was friendly and efficient/fast. We were on a timeline to get to another activity so it was perfect. I had the baby back ribs and the brisket. Needelss to say, the food is really good; everything was well-done. I really liked the potato salad side, too. Reasonably priced and good value!

Samantha was PERFECTION. My guest was 1 hour 15 mins late and she constantly checked on my, suggested a lite appetizer and the bar made a perfect chocolate martini. It became noisier as the evening moved on but the worst part were the heaters above which were NOT needed. We would have stayed longer with an additional drink or dessert but it was WAY TOO HOT!!!. The evening did not require heaters. Great food with enough to have lunch today at home. Great Evening and server!!!!! Give her a raise &/or promotion!!!

Alex our server was amazing. He was friendly, genuine, funny and gave great advice on the menu. It was my husbands birthday and he brought over a sweet hand drawn card (from the hostess) with a cute drawing of my hubby and a lovely birthday wish! Table visit from the manager DeAndre was great. Personal and genuine. And the food was DELICIOUS! The whole evening was fabulous! We can’t wait to come back!

First time customers. We heard about this place from a few different people. I took my 11 y.o. daughter on a Daddy Daughter Dinner Date and we had a blast. The server explained everything to us. We ate amazing food on the outside patio. Highly recommend if you are in the area looking for great tasting BBQ.

Visited Gus's at breakfast/brunch for the first time. Previously visited at dinner time and food was fantastic. Wasn't too sure what to expect since it was Sunday and Mother's Day. Service was great and breakfast was excellent. I loved the pancakes and chilaquiles. I saw a table order the giant cinnamon roll and it looked delicious. I also tried their tea (Earl Grey) and it was delicious. The manager even went around to each table and wished each mother a "Happy Mother's Day" and left a little Hershey kiss on the table. We had a reservation which was great since we didn't have to wait at all when we arrived. We will be back again for breakfast. I also liked how Gus's staff called a few days before Sunday to confirm my reservation. Nice personal touch.

Celebrating two birthdays and guau was great. Brought our own g free dessert and they helped us serve it up. Friends trip tip came out rare after ordering it we’ll done and they quickly remedied that! The tastes are excellent and the place is busy with great energy.

The food is always AMAZING! The service is hit and miss and is best when the restaurant is busy and full of customers. Everyone is on their toes and service is fabulous!!!! When it is slower or there are open tables, it seems that the wait staff make you wait for no apparent reason. We were ready to order when the server brought out our drinks but were told they'd be right back to take our order. 15 MINUTES LATER we finally flagged down a manager to place our order. They were not that busy. Our salad came out with our meals not before. The server was not particularly friendly. She wasn't rude but seemed nonchalant about her job. The biggest bummer is the food is so amazing we will continue to dine here and hope that we get the two or three servers that are always happy, bubbly and enthusiastic.

The delicious food is reason enough to visit the twin restaurant of the well known South Pasadena BBQ joint. However, servers serving without concern for the experience of their customers is the limiting factor here. Our server Quentin sent our main course out immediately after our salad course. Can't really enjoy both at the same time, can you? Moreover, the server who dropped our main course skedaddled before I could ask for some condiments. Ketchup with my fries please? When I tried to wave Quentin over, he turned a blind eye and disappeared into the kitchen. I later found out it was his break time (from the Manager - who was very nice and professional and made up for everything). The juice is worth the squeeze I suppose. If you do not fit the Claremont College / trust fund set or WASP profile, expect bad service.
