Guru Curry House
Five women friends had lunch here last week and found the food and service excellent. I thought it was a lovely touch to have a Chai Bar where guests can help themselves to a delicious cup of chai.
These guys just joined Open Table and I researched Yelp reviews because there were so few. I gotta say, this was one of the best Indian Food Restaurants I have been to on a block of Grand Avenue that I rarely go to. We had 2 dishes but I gotta warn ya. Medium Spice on the Prawn Karahi was still mind-blowing. I love it that way, but wondered if I had actually ordered it spicy what would have happened. The shrimp was very tender and fresh. The Madras Chicken was EXCELLENT as well. We ordered a bottle of wine, totally fair and literally rolled out of there with leftovers which were great the next day as well. Off the hook Naan; the plain goes with everything.... I will say the chanting music was a little weird during dinner, but the food? Off the hook. Ambience? Lots of families and take out folks. I wouldn't call it romantic, but reasonably priced, plentiful food and very enjoyable. If they had booths vs. big tables with glass tops, that would make it a little more intimate, but I guess that's not "traditional". Nonetheless, we enjoyed it immensely.
Everything was perfect. Staff was very friendly, didn’t feel rushed, food was excellent, Everyone enjoyed the food.
