Opened in 2015, Restaurant Gurkha Express is a casual fine dining restaurant, offering eclectic Nepalese and Indian cuisine and warm hospitality in a rustic historically preserved building. A high, open beam ceiling, exposed brick and concrete floors display the original space, while an open kitchen, banquette seating and gentle lighting contribute to an intimate and contemporary feel.

We specialize in three course tasting menus, allowing the customer to select any three dishes from the menu. A la Carte dining is also available.

Our food is sourced from top quality seasonal ingredients, featuring a high percentage of local and organic products. Our menu changes every six to eight weeks, offering a mix of new and signature dishes. We consider Gurkha Express to be a truly “Nepalese and Indian” restaurant honoring many different cooking traditions and interpreting them with our unique creative vision.

They didn't seem to have our online booking and seemed to be distracted on the service side. The sauces with the food were lovely but I don't like to see mass produced chicken as I find it tasteless, shame overall as our son had recommended the restruant.

Friendly Nepalese restaurant with contemporary feel. Enjoyed the food and the service was very good. What more can I say- we enjoyed our anniversary meal.

First time visit, read some positive reviews on the restaurant so tried it for our selves. Wasn't disappointed, will return at some point as other dishes on the menu we would like to try.

As before, In can not fault this restaurant. Service was attentive without being intrusive, Food was wonderful and the price was more than reasonable. A hidden treasure right there on the High Street.

Although they had onlym just opened, my son and I were warmly welcomed. We had popadoms and pickles followed by chilli fish starters. We had Gurkha Lamb with Gurkha speacial ricre for mains with a garlic nan and a keema nan. All was beautiful. We were never rushed and the manager gave us a story of how they source their spices from the Himalayas.We finished off with generous helpings pf special ice cream and coffee. Add to this 2 more nan breads to take away and 2 cokes each the final bill of £70 was more than reasonable. What a find.
