   The menu has the usual Indian items plus a good selection of Nepalese food. The portions are large and well cooked. The price was average for an Indian restaurant in this area and the service was very good and maybe a bit too quick (in and out in an hour).

   We had an 8pm booking on NYE and it was surprisingly quiet- only 3 other tables occupied. However, the lack of ambience was compensated for by attentive and swift service. The service was, in fact, so swift that we had finished 2 courses in 45 minutes and, as we didn't have room for dessert, we were in and out in under an hour. That was fine by us as we had our baby with us and didn't want to linger too long but I imagine others may feel a bit rushed. The food was very good as usual and was very good value. I would recommend this restaurant for a good quality Indian or Nepalese meal.

   This restaurant has recently changed hands again and is a definite change for the better. Really good food and service, although a bit slow with dessert order and bill. We will definitely be back.

   We have visited the Massala restaurant on a number of occasions. They are pitching themselves as a superior Indian restaurant and the food is consistently excellent. The menu is large and varied with dishes not normally found at other restaurants. The prices reflect the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend them.

   The food here is the best indian food for miles around. Its not the "standard" indian menu from which you can order without even looking at. They do some really nice and different food. We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed.

   There was only one waitress, who was lovely, but she was serving over twenty full tables on her own. We had been sitting for two and a half hours and had only eaten our starters, one of which was cold. My scallops were minuscule and had the texture of a rubber band extremely disappointing after such a long wait. We'd ordered spicy poppadoms but were told they had run out of spice!! This is an Indian restaurant! When we complained they did say our drinks and starters would be free which was OK until they brought out our mains and most of them were the wrong order. We left before we ate our meal and begrudgingly left money to pay for our drinks. This is voted 3rd in the country I have no idea why. By the time we left there was nowhere else to eat as it was too late. We went hungry and fed up. I would not go to this place again.

    We went to Massala for a cricket parents dinner. Excellent food - especially the monkfish Malabar curry and the Nepalese momo (pork buns). Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The wine list is a bit limited but we were always going to drink beer rather than wine.
