I thought this was very expensive for eating in a bar area!
Food was just ok, service was painfully slow for everything except alcohol :(
Excellent service, food and price, would go back again.
The special glass of wine was $18 for one glass. That sort of put me off. The food was delicious. Our server was super attentive and nice. My only complaint is the loud club music. It’s not fitting for dinner. The decor is cool industrial chic. It’s laid back but nice for a date. I recommend. i hope they change the music.
Revisited Gunther and Co. to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Our food was excellent and the ambiance/decor is super nice. Our server was a bit curt but was definitely on top of things; refilling empty waters and checking up to see if there was anything we needed. We will definitely be returning when we want a nice evening out.
Made a reservation for 8:15PM. Was finally seated by 9PM. Ordered food right away since we were starving. Entree plates came out about an hour later. We left the restaurant at 11:15PM! So much for the 8:15PM reservation! If going to this restaurant, I recommend going during off-times or earlier than the dinner crowd.
Food is hit or miss, depending on what you get. Appetizers were really great. The brussel sprouts especially!
For my entree, I got a burger. It was OK. The bread was not warm/toasted and the meat wasn't that juicy. All in all, just OK entree.
The vibe and interior design of the place is really nice. High ceilings and lots of space.
Gunther and Co is quickly becoming my favorite “go to “ restaurant. The food is good, there’s a nice wine list and it’s got a great atmosphere. It’s great for special occasions but now discovered it’s just as good for hanging out with a good girlfriend anytime.
Our fifth or sixth time there. Food is always vey good and the setting is beautiful. The parking lot across the street is a great asset.
Everything we had was delicious from three types of oysters to the sea scallops, roasted chicken and caramel tart for dessert. The wine list was extensive, both by the glass and by the bottle. The beer selection focused on local beers. Our server was very knowledgeable. The building is a fantastic re use of the Gunther brewery. I’ll be back.
I have been to this restaurant 4 times in the past year and have had a delightful experience each time. Love the repurposed industrial building atmosphere - creative and romantic. The bar dining area is noisy and loud but the dining room behind it is quiet enough to have conversations.
Phenomenal food and outstanding service as always
When you walk in you are greeted by the hostesses, who are very accommodating and welcoming. The decor nice and what I expected for an modern american restaurant. The food was delicious and the drinks were great when we were able to get them. Prices where moderate, but on the higher end. The server was knowledgeable and very helpful in navigating the menu, but the service it's self was very slow. There was a large amount of time between our appetizers and main course and it was difficult to order drinks throughout the evening due to the limited amount of times we saw our server. Additionally, one of our side items was forgotten about and arrived to our table approximately 10 minutes after we received our dinner. This may not be on the top of our list as a repeat or regular spot.
We loved this restaurant. Great food, great service. Great atmosphere.
We will be back with friends.
Our experience was nothing but phenomenal! By far best dinner we have had together and couldn’t think of a better way to spend my anniversary.
The manager was so welcoming, great to communicate with and went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our evening.
If you don’t make a visit to this gem, you are a fool!
Good food and awesome cocktails! Although we waited for a bit of time for our table, we had enough seats at the bar that we were comfortable after serving cocktails, which were really good! The atmosphere is very social and very tailored to yuppies and coworkers who are out to enjoy each other’s company on a weekend night.
Arrived and after a delay we were to be seated in a small room at a very small table, next to 2 (unseated) Hostess said we could sit at the chefs counter so we sat at the bar thinking that’s what she was referring to. Later, my husband walked through the restaurant and realized what she was referring to. Would have been cool to watch food prep. Bar tender was neither pleasant nor helpful when I was as trying to order a drink. He suggested a drink called “witch face” which tasted like dirty socks! I would have requested a different drink had he ever checked with me to see if I liked his recommendation. He was equally unpleasant when we wanted to place our appetizer order prior to deciding on our entree. Food was slow to arrive, overly priced but good. When we left, hostess said “happy birthday “ which was nice but it would’ve been nicer to have informed our bartender/waiter. Good food but not the celebration I wanted.
Everything was fantastic. We went here to celebrate a birthday. The hostess made the evening feel special from the very beginning and the waiter was excellent. We had great suggestions provided and the food was fantastic! We had a very nice evening and look forward to coming back!
Loved the food and the service. The tables are a bit too close to each other but other than that this place is just about perfect for a special occasion.
Our food took over 1.5hrs to be served, they apologized but didn’t offer any comps. A dessert, a cocktail, anything would have been appreciated for our patience!
Had brunch with a few friends that haven’t seen each other in a while and it was a great time to catch up! Our meal was really delicious and the restaurant is so beautiful inside! Great brunch menu and drinks! Our waiter was a little overbearing, though, in my opinion, and came over to our table every few minutes and even chimed into our conversations at a few points, which I thought was strange. I appreciate good service, but he wasn’t particularly friendly and was just hovering around us a lot.
Superb service, creative food that tasted great. Very pleased with the oyster selection, and the craft cocktails were unique in design, and wonderful in flavor. Excellent wine list. Atmosphere is energetic, very hip and urban interior. The living wall was something special that adds a great touch. Everyone at the table got a different dish so we could taste each other's and we were happy with everything. Be warned if you get the Thai Curry Seafood Pot, it is definitely spicy. Not overpowering if you like curry and are used to traditional thai heat, but tread lightly if you are new to this cuisine.
The quiche for brunch is great, just slightly small in portion. The burger, benedict, french toast are all good and quite filling
We come here often. We always bring friends and family from out of town because we like to brag about the great food and ambience that’s always at Gunther’s! It’s our go to place for casual dining and for special occasions!!
Great experience. It was very interesting watching the well run kitchen, including the preparation of a pork loin rolled pine Heller with pork belly, which I understand is a specialty reserved for Sunday’s menu and holidays. Can’t wait to return.
Outstanding...Excellent service, food, atmosphere, etc., etc., etc...Highly recommend...First time experience and will definitely go back...We had a wonderful evening and the wait staff was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, and made the evening memorable.
Impressed with this find in Baltimore! If you do not know where to go, this is worth the visit. So many options in Baltimore....so happy that we picked this eatery!
The servers and hostess was great. I got the baby kale salad and the steamed dumplings. The salad was ok and the dumplings tasted like they were from Trader Joe’s. Everything was just bland. The drinks are great, the music is awesome and the overall feel of the place is definitely a plus. But I wasn’t impressed with the food.
The dining experience, range of choices- four of us had four different meals, service, gentle attention. Always happy to go to Gunther & Company.
Picked this for date night. Lovely ambience on a Friday night- packed but not noisy. Wonderful service and my salmon entree and burrata appetizer were delicious. The spice cake dessert that was recommended was fantastic- my husband and I polished it off very quickly! 4 stars just because not a great wine list. The Pinot noir that was recommended to pair with my salmon was just ok. Have been here before in a large group and it didn’t disappoint for date night
Took a friend here for a birthday dinner. Food and drinks were delicious. The kitchen got really busy so we had to wait a little longer than normal for our entrees but it was worth the wait. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Ambience was casual chic, energetic yet quiet. I’ll be back :)
love love the food, great service and beautiful restaurant!!
Great food and server Colin was terrific. They had a few snafus with bringing out the courses and they had no idea where to put them. Seemed a little disorganized on that front. Good food - we were fine with how it was plated and served but I did think it was off putting that at the bottom of the menu they claim no changes because of how the chef prepares the food. I guess if you have a legit allergy you should call ahead. I hope Chef doesn’t require a doctors note.
Decor very mid century modern with slight industrial touches. The room in the back is huge with exposed steel beams 25 feet above the floor and a wall of live plants helps to balance the (very) slight grittiness
We go about once a month for different occasions and now have been about a dozen times. Every time we have a great experience. We have tried everything on the menu and now stuck to our favorite by far: steak frites. So happy to have this place in the neighborhood!
Great ambiance with attentive waitstaff. Location is beautiful especially outdoor area. Great menu options for all tastes and budgets. If we lived in Canton we would be there every weekend.
The lamb flatbread was exquisite. Never had anything like it. The flatbread was the usual lamb with feta but with a special twist that included dill, squash and a cream drizzled over top. The crust was perfect. It held the weight of the toppings without being too dense. The cocktail of the night was refreshing with grapefruit and vodka. The bartender was very attentive. A good place that uses seasonal ingredients.
Everyone in our party was beyond pleased with their meals. Great drink menu, cheese selections and wonderful wait staff.
Group of 6 - sat outside. Beautiful restaurant and setting. Food was mediocre and service was inattentive, despite the fact that it was a slow night. 2nd time at Gunthers. would go again, but wouldn't go out of my way
Excellent food and service. Good value for the quality and atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Fantastic restaurant! I have gone several times and NEVER disappointed!!
