Everyone on very professional. Food was awesome and loved the Resturant. Def want to come back. Thank you for making me feel special on my Birthday. Peter was very attentive and thank you Kaitlin for taking the time to stop at our table
My family and I went it to brunch for my birthday at Gunther. It was fabulous! The French Toast was ridiculously delicious. Thank you!
Wonderful table; knowledgeable server. Great drinks and yummy food! Ice cream was good, but not the berry one. Not a good texture.
It’s an incredible place, beautiful and exactly what our night needed. However, we spent over 2 hours there. Our food took an hour to come to our table, our waitress did not care about us and continued (almost aggressively) to try and up-sell us.
It was actually uncomfortable.
Food was great and service started off very good. Then our server disappeared and the person who took over was not attentive. I’ve never waited so long to get my check. Had to walk my card up to the server.
The restaurant itself is very pretty but the service wasn’t great. We had gotten our appetizers and were about to order dinner and realized we never even gotten our drinks. It took about 15 minutes between the time we ordered a drink to then get it. Seemed like the host was bussing tables and delivering drinks. The most upsetting part about dinner was when I went to order something and asked for it on the side. The chef refused to remove the item from on top of the main protein since it was a “composed dish” and I was basically told to either suck it up or order something else. All dinner item cannot be changed or altered, so if you have picky eaters, do not come here. It was extremely rude and bizarre and I will not be going back.
I can't say enough about how awesome this place turned out to be. The food is great and unpretentious, the wine, beer, and liquor lists are VERY impressive (think five of every kind of wine and 10 or more of certain types of liquor!), the staff are friendly, and the building itself is so freaking quaint! I highly recommend the octopus app and the scallops entree. I did not get the oysters but they also had an impressive oyster list. The scallops were quite possibly the best I've ever had - I would never have thought to pair them with a gumbo sauce but it added a bit of salt and spice that was perfect against the sweet scallops. What I loved best about this place is I see it as a perfect spot for friends, family, colleagues, young, old, first dates, anniversaries - there's something for everyone (from fancy cheese plates to just really good old fashioned well done french fries). I cannot wait to go back.
Perfect date night spot to have some cocktails and good food. Highly recommend!
Gunther et Co
Is our absolutely favorite restaurant, we always bring friends from out of town, and make reservations for special occasions like our anniversary mos recently. We were warmly welcomed, enjoyed excellent food and service and were treated like very special friends. Love this restaurant!
Everything about our meal was perfect from a get bottle of wine through dessert. The tea Smoked Duck with Fennel, olives and mushrooms in an orange ginger sauce was divine. The baked Alaska was amazing.
One of the best restaurant experience I've had lately. Great for business meetings or date night. Price is also very reasonable.
Gunther & Co. delivers a complete dining experience! This was my second time dining here with my girlfriend, and everything was wonderful.
We had a lovely dinner. Food excellent. Serve outstanding. Will definately be back.
Good for drinks and appetizers. Oysters were delicious . Would not order a salad as one had too much vinegar and the other bland. Burger was small. Expensive for what you get. The waiter insisted we order everything at once according to the chefs wishes which was not our choice
Delicious food, great service, and amazing drinks. Always a great dinner!!
We all agreed that the hostess was not friendly at all, the service was very good, we had to wait an hour to eat, the atmosphere was good and I do not know if we would return again.
My birthday dinner w the wife and I. We had a lovely time all around:) Tara , our server made it super special. The woman knows her stuff about the menu and gave plenty of wonderful recommendations that we went with
We had an amazing meal with great recommendations by our waitress, Tara. razorclam ceviche, wood fire grilled oysters and rock fish! At the Chef’s table. Second time here and it is fabulous! From perfect cocktails to a great wine lust and amazing food! Watching the kitchen and Chef Jerry Trice in action makes tjis a perfect experience!
Food was delicious, but the service was just ok.
Went at 9:30 the hostess
Creative menu, great food, terrific drinks, and attentive service. Highly recommended!
Beautiful setting. Nice bar. Excellent eating area around the bar. A burger to die for. Good beer and wine selection.
Very overpriced . Beautiful ombiance in an old refurbished building. The raw bar was good but extremely expensive. The wood burning oven and anything out of there was flavorful. There are many better options in town at this price point
This was our second visit and like the first, we were quite impressed with the food, the service and the choices offered. Instead of a huge menu, they keep the choices down but the variety up. Plus we were celebrating a birthday and were served a delicious baked Alaska gratis. We can't wait to return and sit on their special patio.
Always a treat to dine at Gunther. The drive from Towson can be a deterrent, but once we arrive and look at the menu, it reminds us why this is definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in Baltimore. Few places cook fish better. There is also a vast range of flavors / spices on offer. My only complaint is the wine list is a bit limited and prices are pretty rich in terms of mark up. We will be back.
We went to celebrate our anniversary and had a lovely time. The staff was so warm and welcoming and the right level of attentive. They kindly gave us a complimentary dessert at the end of the night
Was called by the restaurant two hours before reservation to confirm time and my requested accommodations. I appreciated it
Excellent staff. I use my water glass to measure staff attentiveness. It only went empty once and it was brief. My glass was refilled by two different team members showing they collectively are paying attention to all the customers. I also never pick my meal in an effort to ensure I try new things. When I presented the task the the waiter he wasn't the least bit daunted which was a pleasent surprise.
The food was above average to excellent. They have multiple menus, we experienced the Sunday supper menu. We had scallops and pork chops. I was skeptical about the porkchop (accompanied by excellent collard greens) since it was a thick slab about portions being dry. I was relieved to find out that wasn't the case. The scallops (accompanied with rice and a flavorful sauce) where seared excellently on one side creating a flaky texture while the flesh remained tender and fresh.
The layout is intriguing and has highlights throughout. The front area is a bar, large glass windows and stone counters with accents of exposed brick decorations. It was bright and inviting. We were seated in the rear. There were low top tables to seat two or four and a long row of two seaters which had one wooden chair and one portion of a long comfortable blue couch. The accent lighting was nice, glass laser etched and placed in front of a light source which dangled overhead. But the room was mostly ambient lighting. The kitchen was in view from this area, stainless steel was shuffled behind by the kitchen staff adorned in all white. Again there was exposed brick and an accent wall that had live plants that surrounded a large clock as well as wall mounted wine at the top of a staircase thst led to the upper seating area. They have an outdoor area as well. Which I requested but it wasn't available yet. It was a very good looking restaurant.
On a lovely Saturday evening I decided to take my husband to dinner to continue the celebration of his birthday. I used open table to make a reservation at Gunther and Co. I noted in the comments section that it was his birthday and any acknowledgement of it during our visit would be fab! We were greeting by a friendly and charming hostess and escorted to our table. Our server diligently reviewed the menu with us and was attentive throughout our dining experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting. The noise level was not too loud and although the area where we were seated was next to other patrons we could still easily talk and laugh with one another. The food was delightful especially the Brussel sprouts! Our cocktails were cute and crafty. The restaurant even acknowledged my husbands birthday with a dessert option and the words Happy Birthday written on the plate along with a plated candle. Thank you Gunther and Co for a lovely evening.
Beautiful atmosphere. Main waiter was a bit stuffy. Apps were very good. Rockfish (special) was on the bland side. Dessert was good.
I took my mom here for her birthday dinner, and everything we had was delicious! From the oyster sampler to the steak frites, and of course the complimentary birthday dessert, I can't say enough good things about our experience. Though we're not Baltimore residents, I'm sure we'll be back! The space itself is bright, airy, and gorgeous.
The service was great I will be returning it was entertainment watching them make the deserts n the food
The food was delicious. The service was incredibly slow. This was our second time here - we came when they first opened and had very slow service which we chalked up to being a new restaurant. We tried again tonight and were disappointed in how long it took. The restaurant maybe had four tables full but it still took us 2 hours for the entire experience for just two of us. While the food was good, everything was just so slow - we didn’t even get to order our food until 40 minutes into the reservation.
Anazing dinner at the Chef’s counter. Started with a mixed dozen oysters, charred octopus, gunther salad followed by the hangar steak and an order of the goat cheese ravioli. The flavors were outstanding and we had an amazing culinary treat.
Start to finish, just fabulous! The menu is always inviting and the food delicious. The special was Rock fish and it was outstanding. The special drinks are wonderful. Our server was knowledgeable and recommended the perfect wine. Special requests were not a problem.
Stopped by for a casual dinner at the bar. Excellent food as usual and great bartenders.
The food and service was excellent.
Took my mom here for her birthday and it was amazing. The service was exceptional and the food was great. This is her favorite restaurant in Baltimore and we will absolutely come back again soon. Thank you.
I always recommend G&Co to everyone because of the quality of the food and the options for dining in the restaurant, overlooking the kitchen or in the bar. Such a fantastic place with excellent service. And free parking!
Wonderful food...terrific, informative, friendly service...lovely and comfortable ambiance...always!
