Not too good . Sent food back twice. Ended up leaving and going home to eat
Great time, great place, great food & great prices. We are from out of town but will definitely make it back there when we are in town.
It was apparently a very busy night with several large groups. So food service was rather slow. The food was very good and hot so no complaints.
Did not have table for us. Seated in bar area. Very loud and food took a while
The drinks were really good and so was the food but I have to say our server was AMAZING!! He’s been our server before and he’s not only very good at what he does but he was very nice and professional!
When I first went to Gulliftys I loved it so much that I had to come back. This time around for dinner, terrible experience. The table they had reserved for us was so SMALL, slammed up against a wall with tables behind each seat. My boyfriend would NOT fit there if he tried. We immediately requested another table and apparently that was an issue. They allowed us to sit at the large center table but said we had to be out by 7:30. It was about 5:45 so that was fine. Food was ordered at 6pm. Our food did NOT reach our table [2 burgers] till 6:55pm. This wouldnt be an issue however at 7:20 when my boyfriend and I wanted desserts, our serve told us he can not serve us anymore food due to the large party coming in at 7:30. I work in customer service so I understand this was their table. But how can someone deny me of dessert after it took an hour for 2 burgers to come out? Tables seated after we ordered had their entrees before we did. I know our server forgot to put our order in right away. Terrible experience, will never come back, waste of my hard earned money.
burger underdone, but nice place and great service.
Food and service were great. Water container had floatees in it, but other than that, everything was fine.
Food was pretty good. Waiter was great. Very loud in restaurant and there was a loud talker at the next table. We loved this restaurant when my son went to Villanova, but might think twice the next time we dine in that area.
Excellent restaurant where the menu offers something for everyone. Reasonable, delicious food, and caring service.
Gullifty's has grown complacent over the years. My wife and I have been going there since we were in college back in the late 70's. However, we had not been there in quite awhile. But since our sons live in nearby Wayne, we've made the trek from West Chester to treat them to dinner a few times during the past few months. Most recently, we were there this past weekend. Food was pretty decent, but the timing of serving the food was terrible. We had a party of seven. The food for three of us came out first, but the food for the other four in our group (which was the same menu item) was delayed considerably, at least 10-15 minutes. This is simply unacceptable service. The only redeeming quality was the server was very friendly, and very apologetic, and the beer was good. Disappointing that no reduction was taken off bill. We had a similarly bad experience there on Mother's Day. Buffet overpriced, overrated, poorly presented, lacking in quantity, and disappointing overall. Unfortunately, we're done going there for the foreseeable future. Ownership would be best served by reading up on Jim Collins' "Good to Great". They have a long way to go before they are even in the "Good" category.
Really could be a great restaurant but as of right now it is equitable to “banana land”. Made a reservation, only to be told by the hostess that they were going to seat us at a table large enough to accommodate us, but now that table was full. We were then given the option to wait 20 minutes or squeeze 7 of us into a booth for 4. We chose the first option and only had to wait around 10 minutes.
Odd combos without other options like Bourbon BBQ wings but cannot do just BBQ, and Anthony fudge related is their beer infused fudge (bleh). While that’s a little odd, it’s not the issue as they have a policy that if you dislike any food that you try, you must pay for it, even if you don’t eat it. Needless to say due to both the odd selections, and this non customer friendly option we will never go back.
Dinner was very good. Our server Abby was excellent, Patient and knowledgeable.
Food is well worth the money, we had a couple of burgers which were cooked as requested. Server was attentive and busy. Enjoyable experience overall.
Stopped for dinner after a tour of Villanova U. Amazing burgers and Philly Cheesesteak. Delicious.
Gullifty's is a great local bar and restaurant Nice, varied selection of food and drinks, lots of beers on tap, sandwiches, salads, entrees. Great place to take the family or watch the Villanova game. Great desserts. Nice outdoor seating in good weather. It's been here for years and hopefully will stay many more.
I have eaten at Gullifty’s since I was a college student in the late 70’s.
Over the years, I have often brought first time customers with me. On this occasion, I had dinner with a friend and introduced her to Gullifty’s. We had a great evening and she was very pleased to have learned about this local gem.
Food is always good but service this time was slow
Gullifty's was my go to place for a delicious cheesesteak. Not anymore. The meat was tough, stringy, poorly cut, and the once delicious sauce was no longer mixed in but just poured on top. On top of that they did not give me credit for my Open Table reservation. Not a good night.
Our waitress Abbey was fantastic! She was new at serving but treated us great and super friendly.
We ordered at least 5 different food and drink items and when waitress put order in they came back to tell us they were out. The kitchen should communicate with staff what is sold out and staff should tell guests as they get the menus. We looked online at their beer menu for a specific beer and chose the restaurant based on the having it. When we ordered it we were told they hadn’t served that beer for quite a while.
We always enjoy meeting family for meals at Gulliftys. This time out was a bit frustrating as we had to wait a bit for our server, and some of our favorites were not available that night. Overall still a nice time and we always work them in when we come back to visit.
We loved the menu selections. The wings were delicious! Our waitress was so sweet.
Excellent service and food!! We had several different requests in the group and our server (I feel terrible forgetting his name...began with an F-he said it was Eastern European) was amazing!! Extensive menu and everyone loved everything we ordered! Will be back!!
I've been a patron of Gullifty's since the late 1970's and have enjoyed many meals there.
Our last visit was not up to my expectations. The food was great, as always. Our primary server did a
good job and we were seated in a quiet area as requested.
Things began to go downhill when we were told that one of our appetizer selections was not available.
Next, our meals were brought to us by a very inexperienced employee who had no idea what was ordered by each person and then never picked up our soup/salad plates. We actually had to move them to an empty spot at our table so that she could place our dinner plates. And then she didn't take them as she left us. Our primary server had to do this for her.
At the end of the meal, we requested decaf coffee....not available. Herbal tea? No, not available.
Our meal was a very early dinner on Sunday.
Enjoy a nice family meal out!
We had a limited amount of time to dine and our server was fantastic!! We had appetizers and dinner and we couldn’t have asked for better service or better food. We can’t wait to go back the next time we’re in the neighborhood.
We go way back with Gullifty's - my wife was a local grad student in the 80's. More recently our 3 children all went to college near-by and we have frequented Gullifty's over the years. We were surprised at the recent experience we had. In short, the service was capable but in-experienced - no problem - we can deal with that. But the food quality was way below our expectations. Three of us experienced "skinny" portions. I had a chicken sandwich where the actual chicken was about 1/4" thick - it felt like a few slices of lunch meat and I had to work to find the chicken taste. A guest of ours had a chicken parm which was basically all breading. The fish and chips was the same - all batter and crunch and very little fish. We shared a chocolate tort for dessert which tasted "un-fresh" - even sharing it we didn't want to finish it. I looked for a manager-ish person to talk to (it's so common these days to have someone drop by the table to see how things are), but saw no one. Granted, I didn't go in search, but in this busy room nobody seemed to be checking on diners. We of course tipped our server well and left smiling but likely won't be back. There are tons of options along Lancaster Ave.
Everything was great
Filet mignon was delicious. We got there early so it was not crowded and the noise level was good. Waitress was great but they didn't have two beers that my date wanted. The third was available.
Been going here since it opened in 1975, because it has something for everyone. Unfortunately, the new menu dropped an old favorite. The steak I got was a bit tough. On the plus side, service was attentive without being annoying.
Nice evening with our young teens. Food was good. Service was great.
Excellent as always
Gulliftys A neighborhood restaurant. A favorite of many of the students who attend the 5 local colleges. Food and service very good. Noisy. If you want slightly quieter, ask to sit in the upper level area.
Families with small children seem to also like Gullifty's.
if you don't mind noise, is a very good place to eat.
Food is really good. Gluten Free options were a hit with my husband who has Celiac
We typically really like Gullifty’s. The food is good and it’s very family-friendly. Today we left without eating after waiting an hour for our meal. We were the second party in the restaurant, and we waited and watched as the place filled up and everyone around us got their meals. Our server came by occasionally, and once he told us our meal would be right out. Then the group next to us received their meal, despite the fact that we were there first. At that point, we had to leave because we were running out of ways to entertain our two very hungry toddlers. When I told the hostess we were leaving because we couldn’t wait any longer, she looked shocked/confused and didn’t even try to figure out what had happened. Not a typical Gullifty’s experience but unfortunately one that will keep us from returning at least for a while.
Although the BBQ pork sandwich and sweet potato fries were incredibly tasty, for at least the third visit, the service was incredibly poor. The waitress took only one of our drink orders and the food took forever to come. Then our calamari starter came at the same time as our entrees. They comped it but we didn't want to eat it with our entrees there.
