The Guinness Arms is a stunning 16th Century coaching Inn in the heart of the Suffolk village of Icklingham; the premises have beautiful, landscaped gardens that roll down to the River Lark.
The pub itself has a large conservatory style dining area, a smaller, more intimate dining area, two bars and eight bespoke rooms, which are in the barns adjacent to the pub.
A conservatory style restaurant with outside terraces gives a wonderful setting in which to enjoy a fabulous meal. Utilising local, seasonal produce including Estate grown meat and vegetables. There are two bar areas, including a gin bar, offering a range of beverages from a pint of Guinness that tastes as good as it does in Ireland to local craft Ales, including Elveden’s own IPA.

The menu had changed considerably since the last couple of times we had been and unfortunately for the worse; when the waitress recommends for you to have a hot dog as a main course you know it’s not going to go well! If we wanted a hot dog we would have just gone to Five Guy’s it has no place on a restaurant menu! So the menu choices weren’t great but on the positive side the food was cooked perfectly and the waiting staff excellent friendly and helpful as previously experienced

The low mark on the service review was by no means down to the lovely waitress....she was great considerring it was her first shift. The low score is because it is impossible to get through to you by phone or email. 3 people out of a 5 person booking had called and emailed you throughtout the week leading up to our booking and you just don't reply. I'm sure you are losing custom because of this.

Great food and very good service. For piece and quiet sit in the original part of the building. Looking forward to returning when the weather is warmer and eating outside.

Excellent food, staff were knowledgeable about the menu. Prices were reasonable for the quality/ quantity of food, we all had started and mains, with no room left for sweets.

Typical menu but done to a high standard. Recently refurbished (or very well maintained, good ambience and friendly staff. Some distance for many to travel, but worth the visit. Options to stay overnight in local rooms.
