Guapo's of Georgetown
The Rincon family arrived in Virginia in the late 1970’s. All four children graduated from Fairfax County schools and universities and continued to invest in their community. They believed that their businesses should provide opportunity and pride to demonstrate the dedication to their hometown and the metropolitan area. Now their children continue the same aspirations as their grandparents did when they arrived over 30 years ago.
I will never go back here. The service was awful from start to finish!
The food at Guapos was outstanding my only concern was how long we had to wait for our waiter to introduce and serve us(Mind you it really wasn’t that busy). I literally watched a big group that arrived after us that was waited on and served before we did ( later on discovered that was our same waiter that was helping them ). It took for me to ask another waiter who is waiting on our table. The waiter asked what would you like to order avoiding my question. We placed our order and the waiter that was originally supposed to wait on us ran over to our table to introduce himself and apologized. I’ll give him kudos for at least apologizing but after that experience I think I rather check out another location instead of coming back to this one.
Food was disappointing. The service was good, but doesn't make up for sub par food.
Everything was wonderful. Would definitely go again.
I liked the place, really nice for small family gatherings
Great location, beautiful restaurant and delicious food. Must See
The food was far too salty. They sat a party of five at a four-top even though there was plenty of open seating, so we were very cramped. Plus, the restaurant was uncomfortably cold.
I’ve been to Guapo’s other locations and the experiences were average, however the Georgetown location was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Guapo's is our favorite Mexican restaurant in DC
Great food and service. Food came super quick.
Great Mexican food with some nice upscale options! Great service! Great view! Can't beat the margaritas! Nice to have this new place on the waterfront. Off to a great start. We have been regulars at the Fairfax location for a long time.
We had a very nice time at Guapo. Service was a little slow due to Xmas eve. However, food was delicious, drinks were awesome and slow service offered us chance to hang out and chit chat longer. Definitely must try.
We appreciated help with the 11-year-old's birthday celebration.
Super loud. Poor service. Cold entree
Food was really good. Presentation, great. And the service, hands down the absolute best I've had in DC. The restaurant has a fantastic location with great views of the ice skating rink 🙂. Love this place.
Margaritas are expensive and weak! Bad value. Food is good, not spectacular.
Best thing about Guapo’s was the service. Enjoyed the food but the nice servers and management made the experience a good one.
Guapo’s is a nice place but the food is heavier than we normally eat. We are glad they’re in the neighborhood when we need a really big meal.
Food was fresh & delicious. Service was great. Will definitely return.
We really enjoyed our night at Guapos, but were irritated that they told Open Table we were a no show.
Service was awesome and food was fun and good.
Guapos is a well known restaurant in MD, and was so happy that they opened one in DC! Unfortunately this restaurant is nothing like the other locations in Maryland. They have none of the usual decor that makes Guapos unique, the space is really tight and they have modernized all of the dishes that we have all grown to know and love. I’m not against elevating the look of the dish, but the basics were missed - like for the tamal de elote they only smear the thinnest layer of crema, when at other locations you get a nice scoop of it - you can’t have a tamal without the crema! In addition, my favorite go-to is the sopa de mariscos and unfortunately while the foundation was there, it was too salty to really enjoy. The space constraint encouraged them to fit as many tables as possible, including the one I unluckily got sat at - up against a cement pillar and clearly in the way of servers and customers to walk freely. It was quite uncomfortable. Attaching photos so you can see! Who would enjoy that view?
Raul, our waiter was amazing. He gave us excellent service and was very pleasant. Engaging conversation and all around a sweet spirit. I’m a guapos fan so of course noticed it was slightly different from others but In a good way! Definitely going back.
We loved this new location. The menu was great with lots of good choices. Service was attentive and responsive. Glad to have a Mexican restaurant near us.
Had an excellent time. Ordered two appetizers and split a meal for just two of us. More than enough food!
Servers: Leave people alone! Stop trying to grab their food away when they are trying to enjoy conversation! We literally had almost full plates of food taken away by SIX different servers in under five minutes! Made a special occasion I chose to celebrate with you embarrassing and very stressful. Putting down one’s fork does not mean that you should take away a plate. Asking whether one is finished at a MINIMUM before putting filthy hands all over my food would be a proper protocol to teach your servers. Whoever is training servers to grab plates away needs to go. The entree food —beef fajitas and seafood enchiladas—was ok, nothing special and on the salty side. The plantains appetizer and flourless chocolate cakes were perhaps the standouts. Pico de Gallo was quite watery and chips weren’t fresh. They did sing for my friend’s birthday but didn’t use her name which I’d given.
Loved Guapo’s in Washington, DC — first time and did not disappoint. Food was fabulous. Most of all Raul was terrific —his knowledge of the food and enthusiasm set the tone start to finish. Drop by for one of Guapo’s lunch specials and a Margarita.
A bit loud (mostly music - the place wasn’t too full) for a Tuesday lunch. I’ve been to other guapo’s and understand the upbeat atmosphere, but it’s better suited for later in the day.
We went to Guapo’s for my daughter’s 14 birthday. Great service, very good food, modern but comfortable design. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed a delicious brunch on a beautiful Sunday at Guapo’s new location in Georgetown. Ate on the large outdoor patio with our dog and enjoyed the view of the fountain. Friendly & efficient service and even made our dog feel welcome with a warm greeting and big bowl of water. Gracias and we’ll be back!
The food was delicious as was the sangria.
Server Marco was professional and personable. I would request him on the next visit. The hostess staff is mediocre and needs training. I realize the restaurant has been open only two weeks, but it needs an experienced responsive staff to greet/seat guests. Open Table notified me while dining that I was a no-show. I'd arrived and checked in before the appointed time. The manager was very kind and corrected the error promptly.
We had a lovely dinner at Guapo’s in Georgetown!
Beautiful location with great outdoor seating on the waterfront.
Good margaritas and friendly service!
nice place along the river and staff was terrific and freindly
Worst service in DC! Granted they just opened, it still shouldn’t take 25 minutes to take a drink order with the place half filled. We had to ask 4 times for a spoon. Food was good but sides very skimpy. Night and day difference between the original Guapo’s and this one. You’d think it was a completely different owner. Avoid.
Ive been to other locations and was pleased. At this new location my margarita was weak.
