Guapo's - Fair Lakes
The Rincon family arrived in Virginia in the late 1970’s. All four children graduated from Fairfax county schools and universities and continued to invest in their community. They believed that their businesses should provide opportunity and pride to demonstrate the dedication to their hometown and the metropolitan area. Now their children continue the same aspirations as their grandparents did when they arrived over 30 years ago.
Fantastic, as always!
Didn’t bother to pay attention to my reservation -_-
Great food and service, but a bit loud inside. Lots of screaming kids.
Food and service were both good. We appreciated being able to make a reservation
Very disappointing fajitas.
We had to sit at a bar table because it seemed like they didn’t have any tables available. Not sure why I made a reservation? They wanted us to wait for a table and did not even apologize.
The food, service, and quality were all phenomenal.
We really liked the food and the servers were very nice. The food is a little pricey for Mexican but the quality was good. A bit noisy.
Food was OK to good, the steak fajitas were tasty but needs more onion and peppers. The chicken chimichanga was only OK. Nothing particularly remarkable, overall not a good value. Not likely to return.
Great atmosphere, customer service to the highest level, wonderful food and drinks. Best Mexican Restaurant in the area. I took my friend for her birthday because she wanted authentic Mexican food. She loved it, and called her husband to tell him that they needed to come back.
Food is always good. Place is very busy during the holiday season as it is located in a shopping center.
Good vibe, great freshly made tortillas, fresh guacamole but food is like a salt lick—way too salty and fairly mediocre all around. Margaritas from a mix...come on man.
While on the surface a Tex/Mex chain, Guapo's has a strong Peruvian influence that has kept us coming back. Traditional Tex/Mex is fine, but they have lomo saltado, steak with yuca, mariscos saltado, and an extensive ceviche menu. Having lived in Lima, we appreciate finding a nice restaurant that serves Peruvian food that goes beyond roasted chicken. When I asked for green hot sauce for my maricos saltado what showed up was the house labelled green sauce that was pretty much the authentic Peruvian cilantro-flavored hot sauce. Margarita was excellent, and service very friendly and efficient.
Guapos is our go to. Always good, always busy!
The server was fantastic as was the food. It was a great time all around
The amount of cheese on top of the Chile Rellenos was excessive and unnecessary. The other dishes were tasty but the cheese made the entree inedible. Very noisy, not helped by loud music. Although we like the Guapos in Shirlington, the Fair Lakes restaurant needs some management attention!
Carlos, our server, was very good. He remembered us from our last visit and helped my wife her dietary restrictions. The food was good as well.
Even though I made a reservation they still make me waited for more than 10 minutes. I reserved a table for 8 and we were all there and they still make us wait...
Food is good, service is good too but its too loud., one cannot talk in the group.
I adore the Ford and the ambiance here. Best Mexican food in the area, and the staff and management are phenomenol!
My favorite place. The best tamal de elote! It is so good! Carne Asade is great. I always get it.
Nice brunch also.
Fantastic place to relax and have a good meal. Tey it, you will like it.
One of our party did not get what they ordered. The food was on the cold side when served. We frequently go to this restaurant but lately the food quality has gone down. Probably won’t go back
The Fair Lakes Guapo's is not the typical Tex-Mex chain restaurant we see too often. While the Tex-Mex food was fine, guacamole fresh tasting and chunky, steak for fajitas tender and flavorful and butterfly shrimp very tasty, it was the Peruvian twist that set it apart. There was a menu of several types of ceviche, and very authentic tasting lomo saltado, which is not Mexican but kind of the Peruvian national dish.
We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed, but we were seated right on time with our reservation and service was friendly and efficient. We could see a manager circulating constantly to make sure everyone was waited on properly. The food came amazingly fast with that crowd. A couple reasons it doesn't get 5 stars - "spicy" guacamole was not very spicy, and it is very loud - could have some more soft surfaces. In general a very pleasant experience and we will return.
We went for an early dinner w my 3 young kids, ages 6, 4, and 2. There was something delicious for the whole family. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We love going to Guapo’s.
Service staff was too eager to clear the table and remove the Chips/Salsa and Gauc! We were still grazing after the meal. The restaurant was not busy, but staff was quick to deliver bill and head us out the door!
Other than that, food was delish!
Guapo's at Fair Lakes is always consistently good. Some of the best Mexican food in the area with a very comprehensive menu ranging from tacos to well prepared entrée dishes that will satisfy everyone. Excellent service all the time; we've never had a waiter that forgets us. And on this visit, we had no less than three birthday tributes by their roving band!
This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Northern Virginia. We made reservations and were seated immediately even though the dinner crowd was overflowing. We were promptly served. Our food (grilled chicken salad and a shrimp/crab fajita special) was flavorful and the portions were ample. Servers were pleasantly attentive throughout the meal. The best part? The price was more than reasonable for a restaurant located in an upscale suburb. Understand that this restaurant is loud and full of energy when crowded. Not a criticism, just a “heads up.”
We had a reservation for 5 @7:30pm. Because we requested a specific server, the wait was longer than usual. Other than the long wait, everything else was great. We love the food quality and portions. Also those grande margaritas are awesome. We enjoy eating in Johnny’s section because he is friendly and remembers what we order.
Our server, Roger, was extremely helpful in making his recommendations on the menu. Loved the food! Enjoyed fajitas!
Mario the waiter was incredible. He was attentive, quick and friendly. Drinks were refreshing and enjoyable. Food came out hot and delicious. Made to order guacamole was the perfect appetizer.
Our server Wally was great. He went out of his way to accommodate us. The food was great and we were served right away.
Steak tacos were great. If you are looking for reasonably priced Mexican food, this is a good choice as there aren't a lot of good options in NoVA. Good chips and fresh salsa. This was probably the best experience I've had here - less crowded/noisy and better food and service. Our group of 4 had a great time.
Small Tables packed so close patrons cant move or fit dishes and drinks on the table .poorserivice didn't help that at all. So loud cant hear yourself thi k much less talk. Ordered 20dollar medium steak fajitas.. over cooked pile of meat with no onions or peppers to speak of. And 2 totillasto put it on.horrible expperince... will never go back .best. part was getting out of t!!here!
If you have food allergies, this is not the place to go. I had to send my food back twice (I was very specific about what to leave out, both before I ordered and after my food was again delivered incorrectly). Both my companions were done eating by the time I got my food. That being said, the food is great and the margaritas are the best.
Best Mexican food in a Fairfax by far. The ceviche and fajitas are the bomb!
Wally was an excellent server! His recommendations were perfect!
Great place to celebrate special occasions with friends and family. Great fodd and excellent service
We have been eating at Guapo's since it opened and have NEVER been disappointed in any part of the experience.
