Great food and service but pretty pricey. Enjoyed it though.
This cozy and elegant restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.
Love this restaurant. It was better than my first experience 2 years ago. Loved the cut of meat, NY Strip prime. The background music was a little odd though. Service was top notch.
The best steak I ever had! Would highly recommend the grass fed NY strip steak!!
Great experience for one of our first times eating indoor in over 1 yr. We sat at a high top in the bar - very comfortable. Service was good but not hovering. I had a great glass (or two) of Tempranillo and my husband had a few beers. We got the wedge salad, the pork chop, and the branzino (same preparation as the salmon I'd loved in the past but just with different fish and I still loved it). I felt the restaurant was very clean and safe. I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner out.
Both meals terribly overcooked. Also sub par in both presentation and taste.
Very disappointing in general.
Went for special occasion. Was given water and a drink when I ordered. Never saw the waiter again until he brought the check. Steak was heavily (I’d say overly) salted. Was tough to eat with empty glasses. The food was good but it wasn’t a great experience to be ignored the entire evening. Not keeping a water glass full or checking on a the comfort of a guest is the mark of poor sense of service and hospitality.
Some of the best food I’ve had. Service was very slow, but overall would go back.
I'm a veg/pescatarian. My dining partner and I wanted to do a Restaurant Week meal. After we were seated, we were informed that the RW menu was only available to go. I mean, why even post it online. Felt very mislead. I was a fan of this chef's fish location, but this really was annoying and an ethically challenged choice to make.
If you don't want to truly participate in RW....then just don't do it.
We had the most delicious dinner.
Great customer service! I ordered Vaca Vieja and it came out stiff, which is disappointing since I look forward to a delicious meat. My friend’s filet mignon came out better than mine. The mac n cheese and brussel sprouts were delicious.
Johnny, our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive and made the experience all the more enjoyable. The food was excellent for the price. We ordered the beef tartare as a starter, a burger and the steak frites. Steak was cooked to perfection and very filling. 10/10 for everything!
Steaks were one of the best- highly recommend the A5 wagyu. Jane was wonderful, overall great experience and will definitely be back!
Overall it was a great experience for my husband and I celebrating our anniversary. Service was great but I just wish we didn’t have to wait so long considering we had reservations that we were on time for while walk-in customers were being seated
Johnny provided outstanding service! The food was delicious, but the whole experience was more enjoyable because of his knowledge of the menu, humor and attention. The Snake River Wagyu Strip Steak was fabulous, as was the Bison tenderloin. Would definitely return!
Steak was very salty. Server never checked to see if our entrees were ok and if we needed anything. Also never refilled our wine glass after the first pour. We realize the tough times restaurants have experienced the last year but it was surprising they they charged us a fee on our bill for their employees health insurance. I can understand fees for their COVID expenses as a temporary charge but do not feel a customer should pay for their employees benefits.
Birthday dinner for my Significant other. Great time. AMAZING food. Very romantic atmosphere
Had the most amazing time. The place was beautiful and classy! The food was very delicious and was big portions definitely gave you your money’s worth! The staff was very attentive.
Birthday celebration
We were very much looking forward to our reservation but were very disappointed in our overall experience. We've been looking to try GT Prime for quite some time & when we saw they were participating in Restaurant Week, we quickly snagged a reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told the Restaurant Week menu wasn't available for dine-in, delivery/takeout only which was not clearly indicated on the Restaurant Week menu on the Restaurant Week website. Not a huge deal breaker as there really wasn't a value in the Restaurant week menu, you only save roughly $10 on your meal.
When it came to ordering our drinks, 3 of the 4 people in the group ordered a GT Old Fashioned which was $14, however they asked to switch the whiskey to Buffalo Trace which we assumed was going to be a bit of an up-charge for the spirit swap out. When we received the bill, we saw the spirit swap out more than DOUBLED the drink price to $31 for an Old Fashioned. When we asked our waiter, he very rudely said that the cost of a glass of Buffalo Trace was $28 and to make it an Old Fashioned was another $3. However we didn't order a single glass of Buffalo Trace asking to make it an Old Fashioned, we ordered an Old Fashioned and asked to swap out the spirit. A bottle of Buffalo Trace retails for $24.99, so the drink alone was more than the price of us buying a bottle from the liquor store. We ended up paying $217 for 7 Old Fashioneds which is comparable to buying 8.5 bottles of Buffalo Trace from the liquor store. Also when we asked for the spirit swap out we were never told that would more than DOUBLE the price of the drink.
Needless to say after being price gouged during a pandemic, we will not return. We had friends who asked us of our experience as they wanted to try it as well and we have discouraged them from coming unless they are looking to be price gouged; there are plenty of other "good" steakhouses in the city or burbs that I would go back to over GT Prime.
First time dining here, would definitely go back! Truly a magical evening!
Love this place - Some of the best steak in Chicago, and that's saying a lot! Service is always terrific.
We had a terrific meal with very professional service. The restaurant took safety protocols seriously and that is appreciated.
Johnny our server was the best! Great food and we would definitely go back to see Johnny!
Made last minute reservation for this place and the food and service was amazing! I had the pork chops with macaroni and my partner had the steak and mashed potatoes. There’s a 90 minute occupation limit so just enough time to have good convo over drinks and food. I definitely would recommend GT Prime for any romantic encounter.
I really enjoyed the ambiance and our waiter was very attentive. ✨
I would definitely recommend!
Oysters and seared foie gras were amazing. Excellent service, and a memorable date. 100
Overall, very disappointed with both the service we received as well as the quality of food. Finding our server was very difficult and we had to ask for items multiple times before we would receive them. The food was very disappointing in both flavor and quality. The wedge salad was not a wedge but rather, a thin slice from a iceberg head. The dressing was very runny and lacked the strong flavor you should have with a blue cheese. My filet mignon (cooked rare as requested) was sadly not a quality cut of meat. A filet should melt in your mouth, but I found myself struggling to chew it. It also sadly lacked any flavor that you should be getting from a prime cut of filet. The French style mashed potatoes were also a disappointment. French style mashed potatoes are generally a cheesy blend of potatoes with hints of rosemary and garlic. (Aligot) Sadly, these potatoes tasted like a blend of real potatoes and instant mashed potatoes with little to no seasoning. For the price of $260 for two adults, I'm disappointed. I've dined at many exclusive restaurants across the US, especially in Miami, and I'm saddened that this steakhouse fell very short of expectations. $260 should get you an incredible culinary experience; not a bland, disappointing meal.
Food was horrible
Girls night out! The waitress was so sweet and gave great recommendations. The food was delicious. The Brussels sprouts were hands down my favorite. The dip that came with the fries hit every tastebud. My friend and I had a great evening here.
