GT Fish & Oyster is ideal for those who like all the pleasures of the sea. Mandatory oysters to start.
Overall, food is consistently delicious and cocktails/wine list is stellar!
Our food was delicious but our service was very exceptional!
Oysters always fresh! Staff is easy going yet "on their game". I am always very relaxed when dining here. Easy, breezy, delicious: GT fish & oyster.
Good time. Service was great. Food was awesome. Atmosphere was on point
Thought this was overpriced and we didn't love the food.
Food was excellent. We had the last seating for brunch, and felt very rushed. Service was friendly but it would have been nice to have felt more comfortable to enjoy the experience.
Best Mother's Day ever in 33 yrs! My family enjoyed the whole dining experience. We all remarked that the seafood tower we ordered was the best we have ever tasted. Generous portion, very fresh and beautiful presentation. The fixed menu was superb. We ordered the chicken & waffles, shrimp & grits and the crab's benedict. 🦀 Outstanding!!!
Ok place for a random brunch, but it was ridiculously overpriced for a Mother’s Day brunch. $350 for 4 ppl isn’t worth it, especially when there is a set menu with so-so options. I expect a bill like that for dinner at a stake house not here for shrimp and grits.
Very nice staff; friendly demeanor and attitude. Quick to clear our table and refresh plates and utensils.
We dine out a lot and so were extremely surprised to find the food here above the level of most really good restaurants. The flavors were sometimes surprising, in a good way, the plating thoughtful, and the small plates rather plentiful. It's what one hopes for when trying a new restaurant out of town. Had we not already made reservations elsewhere, we would have returned for a second night's dinner and tried additional dishes. Although it's a bit expensive, no more so than other downtown restaurants. But they could try to find a way to seat intimate dining people in some sections and big, jolly families with babies in another!
The staff was awesomely attentive, friendly and accommodating. Presentation and taste was excellent!
Our server Cody was gracious, the food was beautifully presented and delicious, and the atmosphere is fun yet intimate. Just lovely! Our thanks~
Food was clean and crisp and delicious. Staff were on point!
Awesome experience from the Oyster Bar Happy Hour to The Tapas presentation and taste! Brilliant subtle drinks to desserts to make you smile!
Small little place with outstanding food. Go there to share. Waitstaff is excellent - very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. I don't like oysters but there is so much else to try. Tuna hamachi is a must!
My boyfriend and I went for our 2 year anniversary. I wrote on the reservation that it was our anniversary and the waitress immediately asked us how we met and gave us many suggestions. They even wrote "Happy Anniversary" on our dessert plate. Food was amazing and so was the service. I cannot wait to take more people here!
The Service was impeccable. We ate oysters, halibut and black bass. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and steered us toward the best food we’ve had this week. The manager came over to check on everything and congratulated us on our special occasion. The next time we’re in Chicago, we are definitely going back!
Went for lunch. Not inexpensive but both entrees were excellent. Menu has items not seen in most restaurants.
WOW. This place has game! Beautiful food, setting, service. The entire experience was top notch.
Pre show dinner. Cool atmosphere and excellent service. Food combinations really well done and delicious. Highly recommend.
Good meal with good wine.
Very cautious service.
Just very noisy.
Reliably great seafood with creative flavors and lively scene!
Friendly staff. Excellent service
The food was amazing. I had the shrimp bruschetta, tuna BLT, clam chowder, and the chocolate cake. My partner had the same thing. We fell in love with the coffee ice cream that was served along with the chocolate cake.
Also, our waiter was very attentive to the fact that I was allergic to peanuts. I appreciated that, not many restaurants are like that.
We were really excited to come here for dinner, but the experience was nothing special. Our drinks were backed up twice, so we were served food with no drinks. Then an order for Tuna was added to our table that we did not order, so they took it back. We also were unaware it was more tapas style (wish the waitress would have told us)-- we ended up leaving hungry as the each dishes we ordered (5 total) were very small, including the Bass which we thought would be more entree sized. Probably would only ever maybe come back for brunch as that's what all the yelp photos and reviews are for.
We had dinner for a large group (ten) and dis shared plates for the group. It worked out perfect! The food was great and the staff adjusted the portions to fit for our group. Overall great experience!
We were on vacation in Chicago and took some friends who were travelling with us to dinner. Despite being a midweek date, GT was packed with both large and small groups from after-work until we left at nearly 9 p.m. As first-timers, our server informed us that most plates are delivered tapas- and family-style, that is they are intended to be shared around your table. As you make your choices, it would be wise to ask your server how large each plate is: we found that the dishes which were an entire fish to be very filling for two people while others were miniscule and left us somewhat disappointed. Our group found both the cocktails and wine offerings to be very satisfying. Service was extremely attentive and made excellent suggestions.
I'd suggest to be a bit daring and try 1-2 dishes that are new to your palate. On a subsequent visit, try a completely different plates and then make a decision on your experience.
Our fav. We have been here many time but each time is a real treat. Our guests loved it too. Never been disappointed. The chowder is delicious and love the eggplant dish. We will return.
Food is amazing and service was awesome. Thanks Scott.
The food was good, the service was good, the portions were very small. We knew upfront the portions would be small as the waitress told us in her introduction, "you'll want to order about 7 items (for our group of 4) to share" but the size of the servings at the cost point was disappointing.
That said, everyone was very happy with the food quality - Tuna Poke, Broccoli, Crab Cake, Black Bass, Halibut all received very positive reviews.
My recommendation is a qualified recommendation based on the value.
Great ambience, delicious food, and excellent service! We will definitely be back.
The food was fantastic. Portion size a bit small and a bit pricey for my regular night out, but seafood was fantastic and the Service was amazing!
The meals was terrific and the staff was incredibly attentive.
Outstanding service! One of the most cordial places I’ve been.
Such a great Birthday dinner for my significant other! Our favorite dishes were the scallops, clam chowder, and linguine with clams!
Awesome food. Curtis was fabulous! If you go in ask for him.
Creative and well executed seafood with a hint of an Asian aesthetic vibe. Knowledgeable wait staff, a terrific, sleek venue any evening any occasion, made all the better because it is one of the few serious restaurants open in central Chicago on a Monday evening. Perfect for business visitors in town for Monday and stuck for somewhere great to eat that isn't an overpriced steakhouse.
