Wonderful and patient staff as well as oysters that come straight from the sea so fresh.

Better options in the city. Wedge salad was small, fish dish was average at best.

Great place to go even during the Covid restrictions. Service was attentive. Seafood tower was great for appetizers for 4 but expensive. Trout was excellent, lobster roll great.

Stay away from the lobster Mac n Cheese, no flavor.

My family loves exceptional food and weekly dining outside is the norm for us.
It was our first time at the restaurant and my husband, son and I loved it. We sat at the bar and it was very enjoyable. The bartender Andrew was amazing with his knowledge of various drinks, social skills and service.
The food was delicious. We had Oysters and king crab legs for appetizers and it was yummy😋. The Sous Chef Chris prepared amazing Trout dish for my husband and I. Also, he was friendly and social. All the staff members we met at the restaurant are very professional and welcoming. They want everyone to enjoy their time.

Staff was attentive, food was very delicious. Restaurant was clean and observing all current Covid-19 guidelines. Not a single complaint, try the chocolate moose cake!

Per usual, had such a nice time at GT Fish and Oyster. COVID safe and very friendly, they delivered on service and food. The octopus and tuna poke appetizers are amazing. The oysters were fresh and delivious. As far as entrees, the seafood cavatelli, lobster roll, and fish and chips were out of this world. Also, try the broccoli side, so yum. Definitely book this place for a special occasion or a nice night out!

We had a great dinner. All the social distancing and other rules are followed. We felt completely safe and enjoyed ourselves. The drinks and the food were amazing. It was so good to be out at a restaurant!

Amazing experience and food! Went here on their first night of indoor dining and felt absolutely safe and comfortable. They have done an amazing job with covid-19 restrictions and the ambiance is lovely! We had fresh oysters, seafood cavatelli, and the mussels, all were delicious! Our waiter Alex also brought us complimentary oyster po'boy sliders which was a pleasant and yummy surprise! Alex was such a gracious server and we will definitely be back, congratulations GT on a great first night back indoors!

It was fun to be back to indoor dining again. Tables were well separated and the service was attentive, yet covid considerate. We enjoyed our wedge salad, fish and chips and lobster.

We come here for fresh seafood. We were not disappointed. We’ll be back as soon as this COVID blows over once and for all. Good Luck GTF&O!

Excellent food, great service and atmosphere was lively, but quiet enough to carry on conversation.

Felt safe with distancing of tables, all employees wearing masks, and rules placed on table. Seemed even pricier than usual though. No valet currently being offered either, though meter parking was easy to find just west on Grand.

They have stepped up their game, and price tag, but it was worth it.

Super cute restaurant. Friendly, attentive service. Nice variety of dishes. My only complaint is that all of the food showed up to the table kind of cold. It had good flavor, but seemed to be sitting for a while before it came to the table. Had the dishes been warmer, it would have been a 5 star visit all around.

We were seated next to a Kindergarten Birthday party and the parents never controlled their children. Drinks were spilled, they crawled/stood on the restaurant furniture, and yelled to the other kids. The staff also allowed the shenanigans without speaking to the adults for the benefit of the other guests.

The food items did not contain normal ingredients and I had to request substitutes.

Even the non-alcoholic drink ordered wasn't tasty or fruity as expected. I won't return.

we came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. we were seated and noticed there was a children's birthday party happening a few tables over. the children were VERY loud, even screaming occassionally. who has an 8 year old birthday party at GT fish and oyster?? our first mistake was not asking for a different table. aside from the noise the staff began going in and out the door to the outside, and would leave the door wide open, leaving us to shiver inside. i finally had to ask them to close the door after they had kept it open for about 15 minutes. the food was ok, but the ambiance definitely was killed. they knew it was our anniversary too, which is extra disappointing. we finished our meal before the birthday party ended, even though they got there before us. not the romantic anniversary dinner we were hoping for. i will say that the serving staff were very polite and maintained social distancing rules very well.

Great food and service. The branzino had a nice crisp skin and the trout was very tender. The presentation of the caviar was very nice.

Food was good.

BUT

Stuff is being aggressive about you wearing a mask even when they pick up your empty plate or filling up your glass of champagne .
Every time I start eating/drinking or talking to my husband they interrupted me, standing 6 feet away , aggressively saying “put your mask on”.


This was extremely uncomfortable. We were not able to enjoy our food .
If we won’t order a bottle of champagne, we wouldn’t stay there more then 20 minutes .
Rude servers just messed up our anniversary ... will never go Back again.

Have always loved GT Fish & Oyster - arguably the best seafood in Chicago - but their seamless shift to COVID-friendly outdoor dining was impressive, even for them! Attentive staff who went above and beyond to help us celebrate my parents' anniversary. Of course the food was fresh and delicious as always.

Thank you for a great experience! Although dining is so very different right now, you all did a great job making sure we felt safe and still really well cared for. It looks as though the staff is cared for based on all the precautions that are being taken, as well! As always, our favorites did not disappoint and new {to us} items were delicious. The added special occasion touches (menus and everyone that came to our table wishing us well) exceeding our expectations! Thank you for making our anniversary and evening special!
