Food never disappoints & the oysters were unbelievable! Very good waitress & service. Everything we ordered was fresh & spot on. One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago!
The General manager Kassandra Garske was as professional as they come and elevates the experience.
Our second time , nothing but outstanding experience!
Fantastic whole fish!
Always a good tasty meal, best place for oysters
Service was welcoming, food was amazing.
We had a great valentines date in the whale room enjoying privacy and a great dining experience
Outstanding! Delicious food.
We come for the oysters, fresh fish and the outstanding and attentive service (met us at the door with our coats when we were ready to leave even though I had lost the coat check number). Over time we have broadened our list of "favs" among both oysters and fish. This time we enjoyed both east and west coast oysters, saffron accented monkfish paella and succulent black bass. The paella included mussels and shrimp. The bass was accompanied with a sauce that delighted my dinner partner. Don't skip dessert! The dessert menu is even more enticing than our previous visit. We were there on one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants - Valentines Day. With this in mind, I would have over looked a glitch, but there were none. Everything ran flawlessly. We can't wait to get back!
First and foremost, the bartender was very accommodating and fixed multiple drinks for my fiancée when she did not like what she had ordered.
Second, when the hostess approached us at the bar when our table was ready, she excused herself for interrupting, something that is seldom done anymore; manners are important and should be acknowledged when used.
These two favorable experiences really set the tone for a lovely evening at GT Oyster and Fish. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Lively atmosphere but quiet enough the group could hear one another. Great food, but smaller portions - order more to share!
GT has been a favorite for the last few years and thankfully, it has yet to disappoint. It’s just a great all-around dining experience that’s incredibly accessible for a “finer dining” downtown spot.
Dinner at GT Fish & Oyster was outstanding! The Tuna Poke was delicious and authentic. It reminded me of home, and all of the poke choices there in Hawai'i. The clam chowder was another delectable delight and how it was served was fun. I tried the duck confit which was well seasoned. The key lime pie for dessert was another flavor bomb that burst onto the palate and left a smile lingering behind. Enjoy a meal there!
We’ve had a drink at the bar, but never ate at GT before. It was great—service excellent, food wonderful. We split an entree, vegetable and main, plenty for two. The restaurant gave us a generous taste of the bruschetta, which we’ll definitely order next time. Yes, there will be a next time soon.
Excellent experience. GT Prime is one of my favorite spots, so I decided to try the sister restaurant and Fish & Oyster didn't disappoint. I appreciate the restaurant accommodating an extra person added to my party at the last minute. Food was fantastic, cocktails were creative and tasty, and service was spot on. Will definitely return.
Everything is perfect！
Excellent food and great service.. great place for clients
Mediocre food to say the least for astronomically high price. The only thing that was good was the clam chowder. I am never coming back.
It’s nice place and food is good too, just some staff look tired.
We had an excellent experience.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. And when I ordered something I didn't love, the staff was nice enough to replace without asking any questions. From our waiter being incredibly attentive, to even the host making sure we were comfortable, it was a great experience. I have been to this restaurant many times and will absolutely continue to go back.
Nice vibe, relaxed but fun atmosphere! The good was great!! The service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Went during Restaurant week for brunch. It was a very nice fixed prix menu and we enjoyed it. The monkey bread was delicious and great with coffee. The chowder was very good as was the Cesar salad. We added some oysters, which were great. I had the shrimp and grits and my partner had the chicken and waffles. Both were very good, though a slightly larger plate for the chicken and waffles would have been nice. It was presented on a skinny tray, which made for nice presentation, but in cutting into the chicken didn't give it much room for maneuvering. Overall would return.
We’ve been to gt fish on two occasions and enjoyed it. Unfortunately we decided to try it again for restaurant week and were greatly disappointed. The first course was ridiculously small. The next course was a salad with wilted lettuce. This is unacceptable. The main course was simply terrible. Dessert was delicious and service was decent however unlikely to return after this experience. For the price the meal should have been much better.
We enjoy the food and the chicken waffles dish is so big that we are full stomach. Good service! And they also provide paper and crayons for kids!
Wonderful restaurant week menu. The chowder is out of this world!
The food was creative where it all worked and was delicious. The seafood was fresh, the service was excellent. It was pricey but I loved my food and enjoyed myself. I was limited to to restaurant week menu because we wanted to try things. Worst dished were the dessert but meal was excellent
This was my first time here and we had an enjoyable meal. I like the range of options on the menu and that the dishes are made for sharing. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about all the dishes. A good wine selection. We will be back.
Great meal and excellent service!
