My fiancee and I went here for her birthday dinner. I loved it! The seafood was great, and the dessert (20-layer crepe cake with sweet corn ice cream) was delicious and unique. The service was excellent, there when we needed but not hovering or obtrusive.
Grace and Sergio deserve a raise for those wonderful customer service and welcoming nature. Max greeted us warmly and joyfully congratulated us on our anniversary. It was a lovely dining experience, start to finish!
We had a wonderful dinner experience and all staff members were very polite and helpful.
Weather forced us to move our patio reservation to the bar, but the staff made it a wonderful night all the same. Excellent recommendations both for food and drink, fantastic service, and everything was delicious. A great dining experience start to finish.
Was really bummed to come back here and not have the same experience we’ve had many times before. The service was outstanding - so no complaints there! Such amazing and friendly people who made us feel welcome and at home. The mains were just so disappointing. We did love the oyster and the desserts but everything else we were just not loving. I’ll be back for a drink and dessert but sadly this place isn’t what it used to be. Hopefully it’ll change or you diner, will have a better food experience!
Food is excellent
So fresh and unique
Service 5 star
Recommend to anyone looking for great food and a fun vibe
Great for date night !
Every food item we had: octopus, crabcake, oysters, clam chowder was fantastic. The service was impeccable. In fact, my girlfriend spilled her wine accidentally when most it was gone and they immediately brought a replacement glass. Really a great dining experience!
Food excellent, service excellent as well
One of the best spots for seafood anywhere in Chicago!
Fish & Chips, the value on the champagne selection, and the oyster menu are all especially top notch.
Two thumbs up!
I was in town for work conference and brought my team here as it’s one of my favorites. I was a big fan of their po boy sliders when i used to live here. Everyone loved their meal! One of the best octopus!!
I sat outside street side which is why I gave 3 stars in some areas. If I wanted to sit inside they would have been 5 stars. Food and service were awesome.
We really love this place!
Great snapper crudo, wonderful halibut and swordfish. 20 layer cake amazing.
Amazing fresh seafood and the oysters are to die for!
The food is always excellent and presented marvelously. Alex was our server and he was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Delicious oysters, mussels, fish tacos and pasta. Amazing focaccia bread Staff were exceptional and helpful.
Great food and service. Tables are kind of small for 2 but a manager noticed and offered to move us to a bigger table which we kindly declined but appreciated very much. Definitely recommend and will be going back soon. Caviar was delicious and I'm not too big on seafood.
First time at GT F&O for a date night and it was great. The server took care of us, the plates were delicious and overall a good experience.
Use to come here all the time but not coming back . Food was very okish nothing special . Oysters were not fresh at all . Fish was very bland . $700 bill for very mediocre food . Would not recommend
Max and Izzy are the best and I can’t wait to be back!!
Great meal and professional, relaxed service. Ate outdoors and it was a wonderful evening.
Restaurant is very old and tired , chairs cracked and worn, air conditioning poor or not working . We arrived and were promptly seated , but than treated to a lecture to make sure we wore our masks if we needed to use the restroom . As we are from Chicago and well aware on the mask rules , wore our masks into the restaurant , we felt this lecture was not needed . After looking around and seeing the condition of the restaurant and experiencing the lack of a proper working air conditioning system we politely left .
Did not enjoy the food. It was pretty basic. Wine list was large, but for the prices, the food itself is unexceptional. Will not be returning.
The food was very good...although the Clam Chowder was overly spicy, no warning or reason to be that spicy. The service was great and the entrees were delicious. I have been here before and I will go again.
Great selection of Oysters, friendly and helpful waiter.
Really great food - and wonderful/friendly/knowledgeable service. 4+ stars!
Fun night. They treated us especially well since it was my friend's birthday!
The food was amazing as was the service. Everyone was so welcoming and it made for the prefect night out.
Always good… but menu never changed for years
Sitting on the sidewalk without sufficient planters to create a nice ambiance
All impacted the experience … but it is COVID times and I “get it”….
They tried the best they could and didn’t charge a “COVID surcharge” which we appreciated!
Love the food here. Eating outside was very enjoyable, with a moderate amount of street noise. But happy to be able to eat outside due to Covid. Service was great. Will go back!
The meal was somewhat disappointing. Nothing was bad, but nothing was memorable either. Clam chowder was not the best. Fish and chips was very good.
I've been to this restaurant quite a few times and decided to give it another visit (post COVID). Still really delicious, with excellent service.
Great food and service. Will dine here again!
Have been coming to GT for 9 years, initially for much needed M&D date nights, but the past 3 years with our teen and tween boys as well. Always delicious fish and seafood. Creative preparations. Elevated dining but not pretentious. Favorite dishes were the spicy mussels, Spanish octopus and chocolate-hazelnut dessert. We LOVE coming here.
Food was great, but you felt a little cramped in the dining room. There was a large group by us, so they probably had to rework the tables to fit them and that could be why I felt cramped. Noisy too, but again, this could've been from the large group next to us! Service was a bit slow last night.
While the ingredients were fresh, our main dishes were terribly bland. I had the swordfish and my wife had the halibut. Mine had a good texture and was presented well, but had no flavor at all. The halibut had a touch more flavor, but was overcooked.
On the bright side, the restaurant staff were great and very helpful.
That being said, we don't plan on coming back any time soon.
Everything was tremendously excellent.
Always great food and good service!
