Attentive and friendly service. Clean, spare decor. Tables a little tight. Restaurant week portions a little small; drink prices average to high. Food was fresh-tasting, well-prepared, attractively served and delicious.

Heard a lot about this place and was not really impressed. Even if I remove the expectations I wouldn’t be very impressed. Service was mediocre and the food was just okay. Asked for a booth and provided a table with a seat on the wall that I guess qualified as the booth. The tables were so close together I could grab the salt shaker for a table 3 seats away. Not the best for a nice conversation.

Overall, our meal was good, but I have to particularly cite dessert, which was fabulous. I had the Buckwheat Honey Mousse, recommended by my waitress. The menu description does not do it justice- the flavors and textures were amazing. The lobster mac and cheese was good but not great.

The brunch menu for restaurant week featured avocado toast and one of the most delectable and meatiest lobster rolls. The oysters and clams on the half shell were fresh and flavorful. The key lime dessert was the real deal. The chicken and waffles were first rate. Our server Lindsey was so helpful and attentive. I look forward to returning for dinner.

Came here for restaurant week brunch. Loved the appetizer. The shrimp and grits wasn’t bad but I have had better. The sauce is gravy type and tasted weird. Wish they offered that on the side. The desert was the best part. I would come again just to try their oysters :)

EXCELLENT deal for restaurant week (money compared to dishes on regular menu). Food was prepared well and service was prompt. Went early for brunch (10:30am) and there were very few people in the restaurant. Staff was very attentive, filling waters and asking if we needed anything at regular intervals. Only slight complaint is that the restaurant week menu was very limited with only 2 choices for each course. Overall, a great experience and would highly recommend this restaurant for brunch service.

Seated us 1 hour late and ruined my wife’s birthday dinner. Manager tried to be accommodative by comping the meal and providing a gift certificate, but it was too little too late.

We went for Restaurant Week because it had four courses for $44, with excellent choices for each one. The food was great and the portions were decent size considering it was RW. They also tossed in two small desserts for a birthday and anniversary. Service was excellent, efficient but not rushed. Highly recommended.

Went for Chicago restaurant week 2019. Amazing service, delicious food, great atmosphere. Given the name, we had to get some oysters. They were delightful, but at around 3.50 each, putting a half dozen at no less than $21, they’re on the pricier side of oysters in the city.

We travel frequently to Chicago but we had never tried GT Fish and Oyster... so glad we did! The food and service was exceptional. I tried the restaurant week menu which was excellent. The wedge salad with particularly smoky bacon and pickled onions was the best I have ever had. The grilled swordfish over white beans had delicious flavors with just the right amount of chorizo. My husband had shrimp cocktail and pasta and clam sauce off the regular menu. The shrimp were HUGE, tender and flavorful! The clams were served in the shell and were sweet and delicious. This will be our new go to place for seafood in Chicago. Special thanks to our server, Joe K, who was completely awesome!

We went for my husbands 30th. We had been to a än oyster happy hour before so we just grazed and every dish was good. I don’t actually eat seafood but they tried the linguine with clams, octopus, and tina poke.

We almost always sit at the bar. The bartenders are very attentive, friendly, and remember you on the next visit. They give great advice on cocktail recommendations and raw oyster recommendations, too. We almost never leave without having a few staples: lobster mac and cheese, oysters, oyster po boy sliders, clam chowder. But, everything on the menu is great.

Service was so friendly and attentive! We ordered multiple sharing plates, all were very good, but some were items I wouldn’t rush back to order and the portions were small. The tuna poke was fine, not very distinctive esp for the price. Oyster poor boy was very tasty with wonderful flavor and texture although the bread was over toasted so there was a definite burnt taste. Octopus was good but not a must order. The highlight was the Thai coconut soup, would go back just for this item, it was outstanding!!! Plus I highly recommend the Brooks Pinot noir, delicious.
