Grub Steak Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Went to enjoy their special Thanksgiving dinner. Was supposed to be the best in Park City.
Literally was the worst meal I have ever paid for. Service was slow. Our server had been working there for TWO days and was clearly overwhelmed.
The food was served cold and dry. The carved turkey was flavorless and dry. We were seated upstairs where it was way too hot and smelly. Will never go back there!
The salad bar was fresh with mostly choices for a nice green salad. Only a couple of other kinds of salads and bread. Our dinners were served in a timely manner and the staff was friendly. Our Daughter had the Elk Sirloin and said it was good-but not exceptional. Our prime rib dinners were tender and cooked correctly, but I didn't feel the meat was especially tasty. For the price we paid, there is other dining available that was way more memorable. The live music was nice however. OK place and good to take children.
Disappointing. I thought this would be more than going to Texas Roadhouse, but I think I would have been better off going to Texas Roadhouse. Nothing makes it stand out. Live music was great, but food was lackluster and didn't seem worth what we paid. Also, it seems to be publicized as a really nice and fancier restaurant, but it has a salad bar and nobody dressed the part.
We were seated then had to wait 10 minutes before our waitress appeared to get a drink order in, then another 15 minutes to get our drinks. The restaurant was maybe 2/3 full. We had placed our drink order with our food order due to the delay and the salads came before drinks, which we sent back.
Food overall was at best average and the steaks were below average quality, not even close the the quality expected with the $35-$50 price tags. Overrated
My wife and I are occasional diners at the Grub Steak (we live over 60 miles away). Their beef dishes are easily the best value for the money we've found in Utah. In fact, their bone-in ribeye can stand up to any other restaurant's offering.
The beverage service is excellent with an impressive selection of both wines and beer. We used to live minutes from California's wine country so we appreciate the effort.
The occasion for this review (June 2017) was our 48th wedding anniversary. We had our two adult children and most of our grandchildren with us (ages 9-15). Last December it was our son's 42nd birthday. For either event there was no other choice but to head up into the mountains to the Grub Steak. We love to take family to the Grub Steak as well as enjoy the place on a no-kids date. Note: we're all professional folks (albeit some are retired) and can afford to eat anywhere.
The service we've received every time has been top-notch. All of our servers have been gracious, considerate, and socially adept (we have grandkids with disabilities). There's never an error in the dishes served.
Grub's is a great place for Steaks; but my mother had the Trout.... and it was excellent! The restaurant is very good for special occasions! We travelled all the was from Las Vegas, and every time we visit Park City... this is a "must" to dine at for my family!
We were traveling to SLC, but made sure we kept shopping in Park City until dinner time so we could eat a Grub Steak House. The salad bar is always fresh and so many choices as well as fresh bread and a view of the grill. If you are a steak lover this place is not to be missed.
On this latest visit to The Grub Steak the food was really spot-on. Delicious. Our group had the Prime Rib; strip steak; and meatloaf and all was very good. The salad bar is always a welcome start, and the sides were good too. This visit was a weeknight, off-season, so the kitchen was not busy.
Very expensive, but not the best quality for a steakhouse. The steak itself was decent, and the baked potato was good. But the salad bar was really sub par. It would be better to have a standard garden salad delivered to the table as opposed to selecting from a lower class salad bar, IMO. For the price, way, way overpriced. Live music was a nice touch.
Grub is a good quality steak house where you can get a consistently good steak as well as other meats. This was our 3rd time at Grub. We try to go each year when in park city. The salad bars are amazingly well stocked and if you like prime rib it is hard to find better. They have a wide selection of red meat and usually do a great job of preparing. The restaurant is about on par with your fancy steak house chain restaurants. They often have live music and the ambience is relaxed and casual. It is not inexpensive and you can expect to pay at least 50 per person for steaks.
Wonderful restaurant with excellent meats. Bison tenderloin and elk sirloin were tasty and decently priced. The salad bar is varied and fresh. desserts were awesome. We have been going there yearly for the past 10 years during out ski vacation in Park City.
The salad bar is so fresh and has everything you can possibly think to put on a salad. The beets were fabulous!! Nice warm bread and lots of butter. The steak was tasty and tender and the loaded baked potato was perfect. Nice place to go with friends and enjoy a steak, salad or just a bowl of soup.
was recommended to me by a co-worker and it did not disappoint!
was there with a group of 10 hungry guys after skiing all day, and the prime rib was mouth watering! sampled some of my friends' steak (ny, rib eye, porterhouse) also really good.
only knock would be the 2 salad bars did not have the same offerings - the one closest to us which i went to did not have the warm bacon gravy dressing the other salad bar did, which i found out only after getting my salad. love the interior setup and the live music. would definitely go back
While the atmosphere is casual overall, the food and service was excellent. The fact that salad and side was included for the quoted price and not "a la carte" is where the real value came in this meal. That did not mean a compromise on quantity or quality however. The salad bar was great with very fresh lettuce and spinach while the options for toppings were abundant. I had loaded baked potato as my side with lobster tail which was tender and tasty for an entree. My husband was very pleased with the meatloaf and the portion was large enough he took some home to enjoy for another meal. My two sons each had the elk sirloin and raved over it. I am glad we found this jewel and plan to return for sure on our next trip to Park City!
