Grow Cafe & Bistro
We were a party of six and out of those present, three liked, (didn't LOVE) their dinners, two were unimpressed and said it was so-so and one raved about his dinner.
The waitstaff couldn't have been kinder, despite a glitch with their printer and it was nice that we could make a reservation.
They have a limited menu and limited wine list. We tried their bread service, which comes with very tasty curry/coconut hummus and cous cous. We also had main course of Eggplant Parmegiano, which was nothing like the traditional Italian version. It had sausages, goat cheese and the Parmesan cheese was only in the breading. No mozzarella at all. Nevertheless, it was delicious. Given the excellent quality of the food we can only wish they had a more extensive menu to chose from - if that happens and quality as consistent then this place is a 5 star.
The food was okay, drinks overpriced and service was ok but not outstanding. Was referred by a friend to go there but wasn’t wowed.
Rudely treated, reprimanded for sitting at assigned table before it could be cleaned. Made to wait for table while many tables were available.
We had a lovely dinner at Grow. We sat at a cafe table across from the park and enjoyed cocktails made with Michigan spirits, 2 hearty appetizers: sardines over crispy eggplant and Michigan peach caprese with burrata. There were too many other options to choose from but we took our server's recommendation and shared a "buffalo cauliflower" salad, a vegetarian dish inspired by buffalo wings. Everything was excellent.
We went here for the first time for Easter Brunch and loved it so much! We had family in town for a birthday and GROW was the first thing that came to mind. My family loved everything! The food and ambiance and the staff are wonderful.
All around awesome. The service was terrific and the food was stellar.
Loved the fresh food ! We had trout tacos and the eggplant special with the goat cheese.
It was delicious. Our waiter offered to let us taste a couple of wines so we could decide
which one we wanted. Great service. Our table was ready on time and we were not rushed
at all, even though it was a Friday night.
The food at Grow was wonderful. Without sick exception everything we had was really really good. The service from start to finish was spectacular so friendly and so nice. One thing I noted was how careful the staff was about making sure that every single glass was polished and yet the windows of the restaurant were so dirty you could barely see out of them and in the windows and throughout the restaurant was so much junk and dead flowers and things that just distracted from the cleanliness in the pristine nature that the other parts of the restaurants seem to have. I would go back for the food in the service, but The tinny, meaningless music an junky decor is troubling.
Server was amazing ! Food was good as well!! Will visit again
Charming, informal place with outside seating and water view. Delicious food, loved the egg sandwich and the carrot cake pancakes! Would definitely want to return on our next visit to Saugatuck. Breakfast served all day is a good choice for vegetarians.
We are from out of town and wanted to eat somewhere nice before the show at SCA. Not a lot of food options. The special for the evening was all out by the time we arrived for our 6:30 reservation. Waitress didn't ask to refill our drinks or suggest dessert after our main course. We were handed a check after our plates were picked up, we felt like we were being rushed. Thought the high reviews online for this restaurant would be helpful but sadly, we were disappointed.
The cocktails were fantastic! We had the fish taco special and it was delicious!
Great food, really good flavor combinations, great service and environment
They forgot to bring out the small plate for our youngest child, but then totally made up for it by giving us the entire meal at half price (!). The food was very good, and the manager was very kind. I would definitely give them repeat business, and would definitely recommend.
We really enjoyed our first meal at GROW. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering. Our orders, Breakfast for Lunch (scrambled eggs, potatoes, etc.) and Club sandwich were excellent both in taste and presentation. We will definitely return. The closeness of the restaurant to the theater was an added bonus!
Very nice. We had a lovely evening before the theater.
A wonderful experience. Delicious food and wine. Terrific waitstaff. A new favorite place.
When you look at your Plate it looks like a work of art.
The food taste healthy and the greens are so fresh you can always eat them.
The people are so friendly you feel like you're at your own living Room.
This was our second visit and we can’t wait to go back!! There are so many amazing things on the farm to table menu that we want to try. They are extremely accommodating to those of us with dietary restrictions as well. We look forward to our next visit!
The place was cute, service was great and the food was Amazing! I'll be back.
Had a wonderful evening- bread service was great and meals were delicious. Only downside were some questionably tasting cocktails.
This place was so nice! The staff was incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable. I would recommend to anyone!
My husband and I went to Grow for Easter Brunch. I had been there once before and had a good experience. Unfortunately, that was not my experience for brunch. We were immediately seated, but waited 15 minutes for someone to get drink orders and explain how brunch was set up. When we went up to the line for brunch, there were 8-10 steam tables set up. The menu was standard breakfast that you would find at a chain restaurant. Most of the dishes were overcooked. All the drinks were self-serve. For the $35 per person price, I was incredibly disappointed. After we ate, we waited for over 30 minutes for our bill.
We are local to the area and eat in Saugatuck weekly. Dining local is incredibly important to us, especially in the off season. The cost of the meal for two, two drinks, and gratuity was well over $100. The value of the meal and the dining experience was just terrible. We will be going elsewhere in the future, especially with so many options in the area.
We’ve always loved going to Grow for breakfast and lunch. They have amazing, creative food made from scratch. Our kids love it, too. We were excited to see them add a dinner menu and the new entrees are just as good as the breakfast and lunch options we’ve enjoyed in the past. We will continue to go there regularly.
Had a wonderful dinner celebrating my husband’s birthday. Food was delicious and service outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit!
Everything was so delicious and healthy. Cocktails, salad, entrees, wine all perfect. Hard working friendly owners and staff.
