Steak frites was amazing!
Daughter leaving for college
All was perfect. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The food and drinks were great.
Warmly welcomed by the hostess. We started with a delicious cheese platter. Outstanding! Our sole and salmon dinners wonderful. We will definitely return again.
Beautiful place, the staff were so kind and fun, and the food was delicious! Fluffy pancakes, great biscuit and gravy and accommodating to allergies
Such great and interesting food.
We had an excellent time for dinner at Grove. The food well prepared and very good. The service was excellent.
This lovely restaurant is tucked away behind the Briar Barn Inn in Rowley. We ordered the fried oysters which came in the shell over a spectacular chopped green apple relish; the equally delicious burrata served with rustic toast; clam pasta (very generous portion with clams in the shell and homemade pasta); and steak frites which was perfectly cooked and served with carmelized shallots and gorgeous side salad with an assortment of delicate lettuces. Service was welcoming and friendly without being overbearing. Price point is decent for the quality and atmosphere. The only shortcoming was the bourbon smash cocktail which was tasty but weak. We will definitely be back.
The food exceeded my expectations. Staff is very accommodating. Will return.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Food is fantastic! We had brunch and the grilled octopus was excellent as well as the caramelized onion and asparagus frittata and wedge salad. Lovely atmosphere. Service was superb.
Never disappointed. Just wish they didn’t close midday but they have a lot of functions this time of year. Excellent brunch. Phenomenal pastries.
Lovely outdoor brunch!! Such a friendly staff!
The waiter mixed up the veggies in our plates. He quickly blamed the kitchen. He even did not offer exchanging for correct veggies. In addition, 4 separate servers mistakenly brought plates for other diners. Also they tried to take our plates before we finished. They were all untrained and have no sense of hospitality.
The food was ok. Asparagus Tempura was salty. The dipping sauce was mainly mayo. My swordfish and sauce were cold.
The building is nice and the patio is beautiful. The menu is pricey. You would expect high quality of services and food. They failed.
Thursday Night dinner: Food was outstanding but it was our server Casey that made the experience great. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. She seemed to really enjoy her job and it showed. Although the restaurant was very busy, she was always a step ahead in taking care of us. Grove is lucky to have her.
Sunday Brunch: Shrimp & Grits was excellent as was Biscuits and Gravy.Casey was our server and exceeded expectations once again. She was one step ahead keeping out coffee filled and checking on us. Great experience Casey!
I would eat everyone of my meals at the Grove if it was possible.
Love this place. It was our 1st time back since we got married and it was a great reminder of why our wedding was so special. The people, food and atmosphere were all 1st class!
Each dish was delicious: the swordfish, the salmon, shrimp scampi, and steak frittes.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, and superb food. We were a party of 4 and we all left having a positive experience. Although, one person specifically ordered the spicy fried chicken without any spice, but it was still quite spicy. Staff was very apologetic and offered us a free dessert (peach Napoleon, which was amazing). Would definitely eat here again.
The food and service are always excellent.
Everything is wonderful every time we go. Food delicious, wait staff always friendly and dining room so relaxing..
Disappointed and will not be back.
We first visited the Grove back in September and loved it. Food and service was top notch. Since then we have returned twice with sub par service and food. I received a gift card from a friend so we decided to give the Grove one last shot.
The parking lot was full, went inside and asked the hostess where to park. "Across the street." We could not find anywhere other than residential. I drove back and told the hostess and despite her explaining, still couldn't find the area. Parked in someones yard. Had to walk across the street in the rain. We were told we couldn't arrive early due to a private event. The main restaraunt was pretty quiet. The first drink I attempted to order was "out" due to swtiching suppliers? My husband also asked about an item we saw on the online menu. We were told those menus are different and it wasn't available anyway. We were then rushed by being asked to put in our main entree order due to the kitchen being backed related to the private event. The place wasn't even that busy, a lot of empty tables. If you cannot accomodate regular guests then close the restaurant. Our food was just okay. Super unfortunate but the Grove is a no for us.
Felt very comfortable and staff was very nice
Good atmosphere and food. We enjoyed it and would go back.
Wonderful place as always. Food is great.
I think the chef needs to work practicality of plates. We had our dinner served on chunky bread boards one with an iron skillet on it. Though this looked attractive the poor waitress could not hold them. The chicken end up on floor and the ketchup landed upside down on luckily the table. The other sauce on the board dripped off the sides. After waiting for my partners new plate of Chicken my stake was stone cold.
We laughed about it all and did enjoy our selves.
The selection was interesting and delicious. Our server was helpful and efficient. This was our second brunch visit and I would definitely return!
The food was great! Our waitress was a sweetheart. Service was on the slower side at times, but the food and overall atmosphere made up for it tenfold. Highly recommend!
The food was great. Kitchen a bit slow as the evening progressed. The staff were very nice. they seemed to enjoy their jobs will go back!
Hi Grove - First of all I have to say the hostess/greeter Kathleen was AMAZING. She made all three of us feel like we had known her for YEARS. She was so patient allowing us to move our table to accommodate one of my guests who had a hearing issue. The waitress (Amy and her trainee) were both adorable and had perfect timing. They never rushed us at all. The food was fabulous - particularly the grilled octopus. My only suggestion for improvement would be to install some sound boards to absorb the chatter. It was quite loud in the dining room. My guest had trouble hearing us and we were tucked in the corner. All in all - FABULOUS and I'll be back soon. Thank you.
BTW - give Kathleen a raise. She was the BEST !
Wow, where do I start? I’ve been to Grove a few times, but never for dinner. Decided to make the trip and I am so glad I am.
We were greeted by the hostess Kathleen, who was an absolute sweet heart. She made us feel right at home
Our server Amy was great! Attentive but not smothering, she did an amazing job. The food runners were very polite and made sure we had everything we need, and the manager Shay made sure everything was to our liking
I got the steak, which was cooked a perfect medium rare, and my wife got the salmon which she said was out of this world. Our kids loved there kids meal too!
Can’t wait to go back!
Incredible food, great wines and service. Four stars because it lacks intimacy and it’s hard to hear because of the high ceiling/barn.
Our meals were amazing, so lucky to have such a great restaurant and Chef in my hometown. Amy our server was so thoughtful and pleasant, a lovely night. We will be back. There is no reason to drive to Boston for a nice dinner, since we have the Grove in Rowley
Great food and pleasant environment. Lots of reasons to go with just a few minor suggestions for improvement.
Our brunch for 4 was tasty. Three had fritattas and we shared pancakes as an appetizer also one scrambled egg and bacon
Service was excellent and we could have an ordinary conversation without shouting
Great spot for brunch! This place had high quality, delicious and interesting menu items with friendly staff and great service. The barn itself was decorated well and overall had a great ambiance. The only bummer was that brunch cocktails couldn’t be served until after 11am, but it seems like that is a town law and not their fault. Would definitely go again!
Quite a long wait to be greeted at the bar and a very long wait for drinks to come yet there was only one other patron at the bar. Couldn’t tell who the bartender was, there were staff moving in and out of the bar. Our bar area was never cleaned, dirty drinks were removed and our waters and drinks were placed there, this is concerning especially during Covid.
Ambiance and service was great! Calamari and octopus was fantastic as was the fish but the carbonara needs work.
Ryn is an amazing server who is friendly and attentive. Food was delicious!
We had reservations for brunch at Grove at noon last Sunday. It was a lovely setting and we were greeted by a very friendly hostess. Our server, Erika, was also very friendly and helpful. The food was great and we will definitely return. The wedge salad with chicken is a great choice and the pancakes were fabulous. Mimosas were great and hope to try the bloody mary flight next time.
Went for the 1st time for breakfast/ brunch. The hostess said the pancakes were the best in New England and they did not disappoint. The food was very good and the service was too. Awesome!
Amazing staff! The food is phenomenal and the ambiance is just gorgeous
