Had roast beef which was delicious. The service is always friendly and polite and the food is just as good as the service. One of my favourite local restaurants.

I was looking for a pub for lunch to meet a friend. Not knowing the area, google came to the rescue and The Grouse and Ale came up. Lovely interior, prompt service and great food. What more can you ask for?

Very impressed with everything. The food was brilliant - I had the Ox cheek and Guiness pie which was recommended by the very nice waitress. Not an obvious choice for me but she was absolutely right. The calamari starter was also the best I've ever had. The staff were so helpful and food arrived quickly and nice and hot. I was also offered extra gravy which was accepted. We will go back.

The Grouse & Ale pub was a perfect rendezvous venue for my friend and I who live opposite ends of the country. We had a lovely meal served very well by friendly, helpful and prompt bar waitresses. The atmosphere was gentle with a little background music and plenty of space between tables so noise impact was low - perfect for my older ears. The food was excellent, so was the coffee. We shall definitely be returning here in January 2025 for another meet and catch up. It will most likely be our meet place now for a few years to come. Excellent.

Very nice pub in a quiet village. Ideal if you and they keep a good draught beer.want to come off the M40 at Stokenchurch for a good meal. We eat here regularly. The food is excellent, the staff very pleasant and attentive

Nice friendly traditional pub, with very good food and service, we visited with German friends that were holidaying with us and they absolutely adored everything about the place, and said they definitely want to visit again when they return.

Food was fine service was very poor with a lack of attention to detail, no glasses were taken from the table when finished throughout the meal.
