Good food, consistent! Good service. All for a good price!
Consistently well prepared. Menu keeps adding new dishes. We are Italian food snobs. Plus they have amazing generous desserts. Try to save room!
We went because of our entrees we had previously and to our surprise the menu was changed last week per the server. They did at least fix the eggplant appetizer we loved but the new items we had were just ok compared to my previous dishes. It was not busy at all so service was good. The carafe of mimosas was a good buy. Not sure when or if we will return.
Food was mediocre, at best. Service was good and server were pleasant.
The food was amazing! Waitress was a little off when explaining certain sauces but other than that it was fantastic!!!!
I eat at Grotto's every time I am in Houston. Unfortunately, this experience was beyond horrible. I brought my daughter and her 4 friends to celebrate her 18th birthday. We ordered 2 appetizers and 6 entrée's. We were there for 2 hours!!! Received 1 basket of bread for 6 people. No refills. My daughter's chicken pasta came out with no chicken. The waiter acted inconvenienced when she actually said to him "I hate to be bother you but I don't think there is any chicken in my pasta" and so he brought out a plate of chicken for her to add to her pasta. When we reminded him that it was her birthday, he again acted like it was a huge inconvenience to get her a small sliver of a cake. And when I say "inconvenience", I mean he actually huffed and rolled his eyes. We never asked for drink refills or anything so it wasn't as if we were being needy. He was overwhelmed as there was another large party next to us (of 10 people). So disappointing as we had looked forward to this special dinner for weeks only to have it ruined by horrible service.
Average priced, average food! Extra noisy, extra busy restaurant. Ok for dinner with children.
I booked my reservation online through Open Table and was really excited. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and I chose Grotto because it came recommended to me by a friend. When we arrived the hostess was very friendly and seated us at our table. When we sat down it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to some over and get our drinks. I had called ahead and asked about the Brunch and was told that Brunch was until 3pm, but when I asked the waiter, he stated that brunch ended at 1pm and it was no longer available. However, the table behind us was served eggs Benedict and the table that was seated after us placed their order from the brunch menu.
Our waiter never introduced himself and when everyone was ready to place our orders, it took him like 20 minutes to come back and ask if we were ready. The food came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious! Cooked perfectly and so many flavors! Our drinks were only refilled once and our waiter never came back to check to see how the food turned out, he actually seemed annoyed that we had asked for some Parmesan cheese.
When it came time for dessert, they were great! I had brought in a cake and they put sparklers on it and it was so fun!
However, when it came time for the check our waiter stated "the system" could only split the check into 3 separate checks. I told him I had called ahead and stated even though there were 12 people, each party would be paying separately and was told that was perfectly acceptable. But he explained that I was misinformed and that the system could only split it in to 3. I accepted it and then asked for the checks. When he returned, he only brought 1 check, dropped it off and then did not see him again until it was time to leave.
This was incredibly frustrating because most of my party had to leave the restaurant, find and ATM, get cash and then we took about 20 minutes to add everything up and make sure each party was paying the correct amount of cash.
Would not recommend.
Good as usual
TODO MUY BIEN Y RICO !
We were seated and were brought water. 25 minutes later still no one came to ask or serve us. Not even a question on what we wanted to drink lol. Service was awful.
Valentine’s Day dinner with my new girlfriend. She was overly excited and had a great time. It was all about her and she enjoyed.
Food was amazing! Service was excellent!
The menu, atmosphere, staff and music were all great for our Valentine's dinner. It surpassed our expectations. Will definitely go back!
We enjoyed a valentines lunch at Grotto. Lunch portion of the chicken was very small. Other than that, everything was great!
Wonderful dinner at Grotto! Excellent service, and the kitchen was willing to modify an entree for me. The food was delicious. Pleasant atmosphere and live music.
The lobster bisque tasted over cooked and the veal was too salty and the fettuccine had no taste but the service and drinks were good and the atmosphere was nice. A little noisy but ok. It was our fist time so we will give it another try again.
The service was great, food however wasn’t very good.
This was supposed to be a special date night for my wife and I. This restaurant is the worse restaurant I’ve ever been to. We were treated awful, table was terrible, service at the bar and by server was twice as bad and the valet lost my keys.
I had a reservation for 7 and was seated at 7:30. The food had little to none seasoning. Would not be come back to the Grotto. Such a disappointment.
Booked a table for 7pm. Had a 45 minute wait. Manager was very apologetic and gave us some free appetizers. They were not good. There were six of us - the entries were mediocre at best. Very disappointed
The service and food was excellent! Grotto is my favorite Italian restaurant!
Had a very nice brunch with friends
Music was too loud and with the high ceiling it was very difficult to carry on conversation.
The food and service were excellent. I would like to come back during happy hour and try some of the bar items.
Had family and friends for my daughter's birthday. The service was horrible, waiter had too many tables, he was not very tentative, simple things like "would you like any appetizers?", he jumped right into asking for our dinner order, we didn't even have our drinks yet. Drinks took almost a half hour to get. Dinner salad came before the appetizers. Despite our trying to slow down our evening to enjoy the food and drinks, he was on the fast track. Food came and sat by our table for 3-5 minutes before he came back to serve. When he did serve us, he practically threw the plates at us. He didn't pour our wine. Didn't ask if we wanted coffee or drinks after dinner. Maybe it was a bad night, I wouldn't recommend for a nice evening out. Maybe just sit at the bar and have drinks and tapas.
Everything was great except the noise level- It’s sooo loud in there. I’m sure earlier or later in the evening might be better, but at 7 on a Sat sooo loud. Makes it hard to enjoy conversation.
Food was good. A little loud and tight (spacing) for my liking.
The Grotto is our favorite restaurant in the Woodlands! Great food, great service, great ambiance!
It was a great night. The food was excellent and the service was awesome. The only downside was it was very cold inside the restaurant.
Problems started when the request in our reservation. to sit near the live music we came to see was ignored. We had to ask to move tables even when we brought up the concern, it was never offered to us. The live music was at the front door to make matters worse, pretty much the worst place in the house. The restaurant was so cold that every patron was wearing their coats the entire meal. I was jumped into no less than a dozen times by staff and we eventually moved our own table to try to avoid further disruptions. The food took a long time to arrive and arrived without the modification I requested so bad to be sent back. The ravioli was overdone and thick and chewy although the sauce was delicious. The careyout desserts took forever to come out considering it was just cutting a few pieces of pie. The explanation was that they had to figure out If they had what we ordered. Odd. It was SO noisy we couldn’t hear the music or even conversation within our party of four. We won’t be back. We can catch the live music elsewhere.
We went for Christmas dinner in Christmas dinner. The food wasn’t as good as prior visits, but it may have been due to the holiday help. Waitress was very good and the prices were good for the quality received. Nice abeiance and feel.
Stephanie did a fantastic job taking care of me and my family! Great food and atmosphere on such a special day. All the bussers and staff were very attentive and cheerful. Thank You Grotto!
Food is always good, service is good, the wine prices are too high-- same wins at other restaurants are less, materially less-- the value on the food is good, just not the wine
A very nice evening
great food and great service! Antipasti bar was excellent as well. Great night out for dinner and a movie. nice xmas walk afterwards. We'll be back!
Reservations: On time table seating
our server was new, and very nice.
food was good, especially the scampi Grotto.
the highlight of this visit, and frankly every visit, is Brian Miner, Cody Cooper, and their newest member of management, GW. Very gracious and hospitable.
