Everything was expected and quality was top-notch.
Two minor complaints.
I ordered the Veal Parm.
1. It came with angel hair pasta, not my favorite but ok. However the amount of pasta was to say the least a drop-in-the-bucket. I mean really?
Pasta is CHEAP folks! Twice as much would still be too little.
Grotto, there's an "old" expression in the restaurant industry "Give them the Pickle!" If you are too YOUNG to understand the meaning, look it up and learn.
Suggestion: Go with fettuccini or ziti as a side and give a substantial amount.
2. This is an ITALIAN Restaurant! Espresso should be served with AT LEAST a lemon rind and hey through in a small biscotti! (See about the Pickle above!)
Angela was a phenomenal waitress! She catered to our requests, had an outgoing personality and made our dinner enjoyable. We would come back just to visit her but the food was delicious also! We had a great view of the Golden Nugget pool, as well.
2nd time I’ve eaten at the grotto, love their food. Only thing bad was my guest ordered gluten free spaghetti and they brought ziti instead which is fine as long as it’s still gluten free but the pasta was also not cooked all the way.
So, so good! The combination of flavors was perfect! We'll definitely be back!
Awesome food and great service. Would highly recommend!
Veal is the standout ingredient here. If Keith is working, ask for him. He's terrific.
What can I say? It's Italian! The menu has a very good variety of choices. My husband had a Caesar salad that was authenticate and included anchovies (which is how he assesses a good Caesar salad. He enjoyed the chicken parmesan of which he is also very picky. I had a delicious seafood and pasta dish accompanied by Chianti. We did, however, see some pizza dishes being delivered to other patrons and it looked pretty amazing and will be on the list of items to share when we return. This restaurant has something for everyone.
Really loved the lobster bisque.
Enjoyed the table by the pool.
Missed the dessert you used to have. It was a chocolate mousse with vanilla mousse. Hope you bring it back soon!
The service is fantastic. Pasta dishes were fresh and flavorful. The pizza is the perfect thin crust with fresh ingredients. And the peach Bellini is a must!
I had dined many times at Grotto bar for happy hour, but this was our first time dining full service. We requested a table with pool view which was lovely. Very good wine per glass list with fair prices and generous pours. Very ample servings of authentic pasta dishes. The Caesar salad was also amazing. Waiter was attentive and friendly, without being disruptive. Great place for dinner if you are on vacation or entertaining visitors to Vegas as you can then venture easily to all things Fremont. Also the Golden Nuggett still has free valet. Overall it was a very enjoyable dinner and we will definitely dine again. One tip: The same pizzas are on happy hour in bar area for half off, plus great drink specials. We are locals and love all the food options in the Golden Nuggett. The Grotto is authentic Italian dining, but somewhat casual, no tablecloth/convenient, right off gaming floor. Great calamari! ( If you like crispy, thin crust pizza tell them crispy. Stone oven pizza is phenomenal, but toppings can weigh it down and waiter/kitchen will be happy to accommodate your request.)
Our server was working hard, but unable to keep up. Possibly understaffed for a busy holiday. Waited approximately 8 mins to be greeted, approximately 10 mins for bar drinks, 14 for salad. I choose to order the daily special, Sea Bass served on top of smashed potatoes, potato chunks were hard (raw). I also weren’t made aware of red food coloring used on smashed potatoes. And the sauce over the fish, way to thick to be served with such delicate taste and textured fish.
As a last minute reservation, it looked promising. Nice ambiance. However, the food was cold when it finally came out. The manager apologized, took a chunk off our bill but even at that, we left disappointed in the experience.
The Grotto is a must on my list every trip to Las Vegas! The entire menu is fantastic.
Fun to people and shark watch. Very nice waiter and food was great.
Love The Grotto in the Golden Nugget Fremont Street Las Vegas! Usually try to get there for one or two meals while in town. Pasta is excellent, Caesar salad is great (this time they were a tad heavy on the dressing) and the bread with dinner is awesome.
Went for lunch one day and my wife really wanted mac & cheese, and even though it isn’t Italian (or on the menu), the chef came out and talked with me and whipped up a home made version of one; she loved it. Thank you Grotto!!
Steven our waiter suggested a pasta dish.... very good.
Our return to Old Las Vegas. Glass fish tank interesting. We stop here each trip. Timeless
good waitresses. Very good the sausage on the rigatoni was delicious
Excellent food and service. I definitely recommend!!
Always a good choice for a nice meal.
Nice server. Made an error on our food order.
Took a while to get the correct meal.
Great Service - Friendly staff - on time seating -
The food was really good, better than expected! Don't want to be in a hurry, slow service and forgot to bring my wife her drink, so she didn't bring it until she was already started with her meal. Dirty tables around us that were never cleaned.
Again the food was amazing, will go back again!
We loved our waiter!!
Better than expected. I'm not one for chains and was not expecting much but we enjoyed it. Food was better than expected and the service was very good.
Good and reasonably priced for Vegas. I had the bruscetta pasta with shrimp. Yum! Desserts are to die for and huge- try the strawberry almond cake if they have it. Excellent! Great service as well!
Very good service and food located in The Golden Nugget. Decent prices as well in this busy location. Lots of action all around.
My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at Grotto on Wednesday. We shared a delicious beet salad and a chicken marsala entree that included a creamy pasta that was divine. The waiter split them for no extra charge. Our chianti wine was perfect with our meal. We were too stuffed to have dessert with our coffee though. The restaurant has a warm, lively and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend for a casual dinner.
No recognition for anniversary. Pool was under construction so you could not see aquarium
Chicken picadda and spagetti was good. Avoid Tomato Capresi and chopped salads
Good location if downtown but just so many other italian restaurants to choose
We eat at the Grotto 7-8 times a year and we live in Utah! That should tell you how much my wife and I enjoy the food/wine here. Everything we've ever had has been outstanding. However, we've never tried dessert because we're always so full by then.
The chef had made osso bucco for the special this date. I would highly recommend it if it is available. The meat was so tender and the noodles were so fresh. It tasted fabulous. My husband and I both got this but we have had several of the entres off the menu and have never been dissatisfied here. Great food!
Good food. Although the menu was not clear on whether it would be good for vegetarians as most entrees, except one, mentioned meat, staff confirmed that standard sauce was vegetarian and was easily able to accommodate our one picky vegetarian. Food was very tasty, waiter and staff very pleasant. Prices were good for the value-conscious. All in all, a very nice spot to have a pleasant dinner that lets you step away from the frenzy and party-like atmosphere out on Fremont Street.
We were planning a visit to Fremont Street while in Vegas with another couple and wanted to include a nice dinner. Grottos did not disappoint. The food was very flavorful and the staff was very friendly and took great care of us. I would definitely go back the next time that I am in town.
New Years Eve
Grotto has great food. I had the chicken picatta and it was the best I have ever had. My husband had the sea bass which he said was excellent. Very nice atmosphere.
Food was mediocre .. Serve was satisfactory .. but Staff did not ask how about the dining experience ..
We go every time we are in Vegas just love the food drinks and service , we will be back
I love eating at The Grotto. Their white sauce on their cannelloni is incredible. And he desserts are incredible !
The food was great and the prices were reasonable, service was excellent and good view
Hohum. The soups were great. The meatza pizza was limp and lacking.
