Grotto Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at Grotto on Wednesday. We shared a delicious beet salad and a chicken marsala entree that included a creamy pasta that was divine. The waiter split them for no extra charge. Our chianti wine was perfect with our meal. We were too stuffed to have dessert with our coffee though. The restaurant has a warm, lively and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend for a casual dinner.
The chef had made osso bucco for the special this date. I would highly recommend it if it is available. The meat was so tender and the noodles were so fresh. It tasted fabulous. My husband and I both got this but we have had several of the entres off the menu and have never been dissatisfied here. Great food!
Good food. Although the menu was not clear on whether it would be good for vegetarians as most entrees, except one, mentioned meat, staff confirmed that standard sauce was vegetarian and was easily able to accommodate our one picky vegetarian. Food was very tasty, waiter and staff very pleasant. Prices were good for the value-conscious. All in all, a very nice spot to have a pleasant dinner that lets you step away from the frenzy and party-like atmosphere out on Fremont Street.
We were planning a visit to Fremont Street while in Vegas with another couple and wanted to include a nice dinner. Grottos did not disappoint. The food was very flavorful and the staff was very friendly and took great care of us. I would definitely go back the next time that I am in town.
It was okay. The portions were really big, especially for the appetizers. The flavors of my main dish were somewhat bland, but it was good for how quick we were moving and how late it was. Made a reservation for 8:15, got there at 8 and they sat us right away even though it seemed really busy.
This restaurant needs help in the kitchen and on the floor. I have eaten in this establishment at least five other times. But this recent visit is the first in two years. And I must say it was down right awful. It seemed as though who ever were preparing our food didn’t care much for what they were doing.
Our food server had a few good moments but for the most part her tables were far from each other so she was stretched out and could not give us attentive service.
The food was delicious. The lobster bisque was great, and the gorgonzola pasta was amazing. I was a little disappointed that the view of the shark tank from the restaurant is not as spectacular as the website led me to believe but the remaining ambiance was nice.
Excellent antipasti plate! The bread and dip are great too. Had I not been starving I would have stopped after the appetizers. The spaghetti and meatballs were delicious. The meatballs were large and had great flavor. The rigatoni salsicca was bland - garlic cream sauce was lacking flavor and the sausage was boiled giving it an undesirable texture. The service was lacking but we were eating at 9pm on Saturday night.
All said, the antipasti and meatballs are highly recommended! Be sure to get a table facing the outside/pathways as the people watching was fantastic!
Moderately priced Italian Restaurant. The service was very good and attentive. Amazing desert tray. We were seated at a nice table overlooking the pool and large shark aquarium. Very nice place for dinner in The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino on Fremont Street in Downtown Old Vegas.
