   The service by Jose was excellent. Food was good, but nothing exceptional. Veal dish was OK, but far from fantastic. Other dishes were very good, but nothing one couldn't get in a mid-priced restaurant in LA.

   The restaurant is located inside the Golden Nugget which was great but it was very loud. Service was slow and not personable. The appetizer came out wrong but was corrected. The vegan gluten free pasta dish was definitely not pasta. It was a small bowl of vegetables sautéed in EVOO sauce that tasted like fish, and other than a fish taste had no flavor. The server never checked on us once we received the food so there was no chance for a substitution before the plate was cleared by the assistant, who did not inform the server that I told her I didn’t like it. Would not recommend this restaurant.

   From the start we were welcomed with a lot of warmth from the staff. Our server, please excuse me I do not get his name, was very attentive and allowed us the space and time to enjoy our dinner at our pace. We started with the artichoke appetizer and I must say it was very tasty and the portion was also generous. My partner had the rib gnocchi which were very flavourful. I had the gamberoni pasta, penne with pan seared shrimp. Both dishes were delicious. We complimented our dinner with a glass of red Zinfandel and a glass of Cab. We passed on dessert as this would have been too much and we did not want to feel uncomfortable as we were going to experience Fremont St in Downtown Las Vegas. Thank you to everyone at Grotto for making our experience a very enjoyable one. Cheers...

   Not up to Golden Nugget Hotel standards. We were expecting tasty Italian food and were disappointed. My husband loves spaghetti and was not impressed. I had the veal and it was dry and over cooked. The beet salad was outstanding. The side dishes were okay but not outstanding. The service was excellent - as was the atmosphere. Too many good places to go back there again. Sorry.

   Ordered mussels in white wine garlic sauce, it wasn’t white wine it was tomato cream based, terrible and wrong on the menu. They should change it on the menu so when people order they know what they are getting. Dumb. Lasagna had no flavor, neither did the bolognese. Manager was nice and gave a free dessert but he asked how it was, so I was honest.

   Great Italian Food at a good price. Chicken Parmesan and the pasta with meat sauce are must have.

   My birthday celebration dinner was at Grotto. My wife and I each had a Corona. When ordered a pizza I ordered the chicken parm with alfredo pasta for our main course. We had a steak sticker appetizer (delicious) for our starter. Once that was eaten I received my main course. It was amazing... however my wife did not receive her pizza till I was just about done with my meal. The food was great, the service was great and the timing was terrible. My wife's pizza was free due to the fact she watched me eat my meal before she received her own. Timing is key.
