Grotto Las Vegas
Sun-dried tomato risotto, homemade pesto
Breaded, melted mozzarella, fontina cheese, crispy prosciutto, homemade sage sauce
The service by Jose was excellent. Food was good, but nothing exceptional. Veal dish was OK, but far from fantastic. Other dishes were very good, but nothing one couldn't get in a mid-priced restaurant in LA.
Great food, and atmosphere
Excellent 👍 server, Santo. Enjoyed our dinner very much.
The restaurant is located inside the Golden Nugget which was great but it was very loud. Service was slow and not personable. The appetizer came out wrong but was corrected. The vegan gluten free pasta dish was definitely not pasta. It was a small bowl of vegetables sautéed in EVOO sauce that tasted like fish, and other than a fish taste had no flavor. The server never checked on us once we received the food so there was no chance for a substitution before the plate was cleared by the assistant, who did not inform the server that I told her I didn’t like it. Would not recommend this restaurant.
From the start we were welcomed with a lot of warmth from the staff. Our server, please excuse me I do not get his name, was very attentive and allowed us the space and time to enjoy our dinner at our pace.
We started with the artichoke appetizer and I must say it was very tasty and the portion was also generous.
My partner had the rib gnocchi which were very flavourful. I had the gamberoni pasta, penne with pan seared shrimp. Both dishes were delicious.
We complimented our dinner with a glass of red Zinfandel and a glass of Cab.
We passed on dessert as this would have been too much and we did not want to feel uncomfortable as we were going to experience Fremont St in Downtown Las Vegas.
Thank you to everyone at Grotto for making our experience a very enjoyable one.
Not up to Golden Nugget Hotel standards. We were expecting tasty Italian food and were disappointed. My husband loves spaghetti and was not impressed. I had the veal and it was dry and over cooked. The beet salad was outstanding. The side dishes were okay but not outstanding. The service was excellent - as was the atmosphere. Too many good places to go back there again. Sorry.
Ordered mussels in white wine garlic sauce, it wasn’t white wine it was tomato cream based, terrible and wrong on the menu. They should change it on the menu so when people order they know what they are getting. Dumb. Lasagna had no flavor, neither did the bolognese. Manager was nice and gave a free dessert but he asked how it was, so I was honest.
Great Italian Food at a good price. Chicken Parmesan and the pasta with meat sauce are must have.
My birthday celebration dinner was at Grotto. My wife and I each had a Corona. When ordered a pizza I ordered the chicken parm with alfredo pasta for our main course. We had a steak sticker appetizer (delicious) for our starter. Once that was eaten I received my main course. It was amazing... however my wife did not receive her pizza till I was just about done with my meal. The food was great, the service was great and the timing was terrible. My wife's pizza was free due to the fact she watched me eat my meal before she received her own. Timing is key.
Great food - nice atmosphere
The new location was noisier. The was nice decor, and the servicer Arturo was excellent.
Wonderful time! Food excellent, Bartender Outstanding, Service and Waiter Superb--Friendly and efficient, venue was just the right venue for a Vegas celebration. Will definitely return and will be a regular stop.
The food was wonderful! We had chicken parmigiana. Roasted potatoes and past. We will definitely come back. Thank you
Really great desserts!
No words....just a perfect evening with family, Italian style :-)
We were seated at the first table by the bar, so we had people standing at our table talking while we were eating. Pizza, meatballs and Italian Potatoes were very good. Veal was not good. They said it was prepared fresh daily, but you could tell they served frozen breaded veal patties. Texture and taste were not good.
Lovely dinner great waiter
Taya was fantastic - her menu suggestions were great & accommodating, her hospitality was also great!!!
Had great food with family and friends. Would recommend to all.
I would definitely go back. The food was delicious. I highly recommend Grotto. We made a reservation for 10:30 and arrived early and they seated us because many people that reserved their table never showed up.
Service was prompt. Wait staff was very helpful with menu recommendations and descriptions of dishes. Food was served hot and plated presentation was very good! The food looked as good as it tasted. The restaurant was very busy so I would recommend reservations.
New location is smaller and noiser. But food is good and wine list is great.
Food and pricing is excellent. We make reservations and was seated next to the bar and not pizza oven. Service was fair. We ordered wine and was asked if we wanted red it wrapped to take out. Felt very rushed. Like she was us to leave. We have been to grotto on several occasions and was our favorite La s Vegas restaurant. This was a very bad outing. La s Vegas Grotto has moved location. This new location is not as big, but the place was empty and we were seated in the corner by a bit pizza oven. Unacceptable!!!! Hopefully in the future you treat your repeat, good customer better. We even made reservations 2 weeks in advance. Please take note and improve your service, because we love your food, but refuse to be treated poor!y.
A beautiful new venue in the Golden Nugget. The food was fabulous - loved the grilled salmon and the cheesecake was melt in your mouth divine.
We eat at Grotto several times a year and I do not like the new location!!! It is very small, crowded and noisy! The portions have gotten increasingly smaller and the price has not changed to reflect that! It is terrible to spend that much for dinner and have to stop on the way home for a snack! I hate to say it but we won’t be going back, with so many restaurants in Vegas, we will find a new favorite
Salt prawns were over cooked and pricey. Artichoke appetizer was fried to perfection! Lasagna was delicious!
We look forward eating the Grotto every time we go to the Golden Nugget
I like the old location better
Good food for the price. Ambiance has suffered due to new location.
2 things......Food was excellent and our Service was well above average. Team working today seemed to have their Game on.
Great service great food Too loud
Food was delicious! The short rib gnocchi was unreal . My wife got the lasagna which was equally awesome. For some reasons the service was slow. Waitress was great They comped us an appetizer due to the long wait.
I sure liked the old Grotto...the menu has changed, no Veal parm.... Too much money for a drink, so drink the cold water....
The photo's on the web site is not of the restaurant, There is no view of the pool area. It's a small box 40x40 with the front totally open to the walkway. It's very nosy almost can't carry on a conversation. Within a minute of setting down we talked about leaving and afterward we wished we had. Will not go back.
Excellent pizza and good value. Happy Hour prices are very good.
Took over an hour to be seated with a reservation.
While the overall ambience and vibe was better in the old configuration, the food is still exceptional and the restaurant is well run. They could create a little cozier vibe.
My favorite restaurant in Vegas! Can't find meatballs or chicken parmigiana like that in Oregon! Service was amazing as well! I wish I could remember the name of our server.. he was awesome!
New location in Golden Nugget, Vegas is not good. Crowded, loud and reduced menu. Service took forever. Not a good experience this time.
The service was mediocre and the food was really nothing special. We were genuinely surprised since the reviews online were so encouraging.
My roast chicken was poorly prepared and a bit undercooked dark meat, and rubbery white meat.
The bread is amazing!
Changes to location (now in Carson Tower), and menu (serving family style, not complete meals) were not communicated prior to our reservation day/time. The restaurant is now much smaller, and located in a food court type setting. The menu has been changed, and several of our favorite dishes removed. While our server, Taya, was great & I highly recommend asking for her section, the rest of our experience was extremely disappointing.
